  1. The West Towne Penneys has 25% off all MLB stuff. The priciest items were home (white) replica jerseys (Prince, Jenks, Sheets) whose regular price is $90.00. There were some jersey t-shirts - Lee brand, not the brand they sell at the Fan Zone - whose price I didn't check (but they're 25% off), as well as some Yount retro jersey tees. There were also other, relatively generic Brewers T-shirts. Some came in a two-pack. The one I might have got for myself, if there had been any in ladies-type sizes, was a ball-glove logo on a t-shirt that was sort of faded denim in color (not in fabric). Those look nice to me. Anyway - I hope you're not bigger than XL because I didn't see much in the XX-type sizes. Hope that helps. And had you tried to brave the fan zone on the weekend, you would have missed too much of the game you attended. It's been jammed with lines out the door every time I've looked lately.
  2. We're meeting some friends for the day game on July 19 and have upgraded our seats to section 217 to sit with them. This is their first trip to Miller Park, and our first day game sitting in a central loge section. Is section 217 likely to get much sun (provided the roof is open)? I'm guessing not a lot, since it's just to the first-base side of home plate, but I said I'd ask around. Of course, I'm asking here first. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Thanks in advance, in case you know.
  3. Wouldn't it be advantageous to the Brewers if the other NL Central teams split series as often as possible? or at least their series vs. other, non-Brewer division teams? (Of course, there's always at least a silver lining when the Cubs lose.)
  4. I suppose all the kids named Enron were very disappointed a few years ago. And I hope to never meet a kid whose name is Minute Maid.
  5. ya are you kidding me bfishman, that is a Barrett bobblehead, how many cubs fans are going to want that. In a world where there appears to be a market for the Jeffrey Hammonds bobblehead, isn't anything possible?
  6. I don't know what you consider a "good selection"...but the Penney's stores have had more Brewers shirts than I've seen in years. (Note that this says at least as much about their selection in the past as anything.) Plus, their stuff is often on sale. I'm going to West Towne in an hour for a haircut and will have a look, then report back this evening. Also - I was in Dunham's at Westgate briefly today and was pleasantly stunned to see replica jerseys hanging in their window (Prince, JJ, Sheets, both retro pinstripe and navy), as well as jersey tees for the same players and a few miscellaneous styles of t-shirts (the latter looked like youth or anorexic ladies' sizes). I didn't check prices, as I am not very much 'in the market.' I was just happy they had more Brewers than Cubs swag.
  7. The only thing I hate worse than a sCrub win is sCrub fans celebrating the team. Amen to that, Robin19.
  8. Is it just me, or does Rich Hill look like he has a shiner under his right eye in that picture? Makes me think he got too close to a teammate. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Let's go, Brewers. Keep turning up the heat. Just break the knob right off.
  9. So how many autographed bats do you think they'll have to give away today? 1? I think I've seen Miller jersey tees at the ballpark before. I tried to visit the Fan Zone 40 minutes before game time, but there was a line so long they were using the kind of line-organizing ropes you see in banks - apparently to let only a few people in at a time. (It didn't seem worth waiting in line 20 minutes just to find out that the Villanueva tees were probably still sold out.) Anyway, today was "LaCrosse Area Day" - so Damian was putting on a well-timed show for his home folk. The team celebration at home plate was exciting, as were the curtain call and Damian's happy reaction to it. And it was about bloody time someone ended that game. Miller Park was a steamy hotbox. Here is the timeline of our arrival at the park: 12:00 noon - we leave car in the Giants parking lot. It is sunny enough to make me think about switching to sunglasses. Roof is open. 12:05 - we've crossed under the interstate and are 2/3 of the way to the park. We feel a few drips. 12:06 - utter downpour, blowing sideways from the northwest. Roof is closing. Run! 12:10 (or so) - we're in the park on the terrace level, watching the rain pour in through the still-open part of the roof (mostly first base side) and the tarp on the field. The rain was done well before 1:00, but I was not surprised that they left the roof closed. They didn't open the side panels again until a while into the game, but there wasn't a breeze anyway, so we all sat and sweated. There were a zillion kids there today in YMCA camp groups (bankrolled in part by Geoff Jenkins). They did not seem to be interested in the game so much as chanting at each other. It was as if YMCA turf wars were being fought through high pitched rhythmic shouting. But unlike the last few games we've attended, the crowd didn't seem as into the game...until late, after the kids left. Overall, I can't complain about an 8-4 Brewers record when we're at the park. As the home team happily trotted off the field, I asked them to please remain in first place by the time we see them next (not until July 15 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif ). Only time will tell if they heed me.
  10. Wow. I'll feel so at home.
  11. looks like we'll probably see Miller behind the plate, looking at that split against Williams. Plus what more can Carne Estrada do after last night? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Go Brewers. This is the last game of the "first half" we attend and I'd much prefer an 8-4 record to 7-5.
  12. Someone should sell a bib that reads "Brewers, Brewers, Keep Turnin' Up the Heat!" Nice to meet you, Owen. Stay close to dad for the next few months. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. Nice outcome. Let's return to the language that made bf.net what it is. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

  17. I don't know if I can do this all night. Don't worry. It's not a contest.
  18. I'm so confused as to what is going on right now, but it's hilarious. I've seen the WHOAH SOLVDD board, what exactly does it mean? That's a valid question. Here's the thread that started the phenomenon. The initial, now legendary post as typed by "go brewcrew" read: Lou Palsmo is hitting great and a great all around catcher with speed this guy is a gonna be the future hopefullly This was presumably some kind of praise of Lou Palmisano. WOAH SOLVDD = woes solved. The WOAH SOLVDD forum was born, and it has become a nice place to stash especially memorable threads - those that defy other categorization. FVBrewerFan suggested that the WOAH SOLVDD format be adopted for tonight's IGT, and his suggestion has caught on. Or perhaps I should say "its cuaght On!" Beware of flaming spell checkers tonight... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. And please, no horror stories. How many people with horror stories about skydiving live to tell them? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

  21. Also, aren't we due for a WHOAA SOLVD edition of in-game threads? I admit, I'm intrigued by FV's suggestion... manypara RULZ!!! sux he cant he pitch for Vargs tonite alredy I mean the future is right HEAR, rihgt NOW Go Brewz!!!! ...but I just don't know if I could look at a whole night's worth of WOAH SOLVDD conversation.
  22. Wandy looks like he needs some Head On, applied directly to his forehead. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. So how soon can we swap Parra for Spurling? I like your use of the navy font. Kinda sarcastic, but kinda serious.
  24. The flag carrying hot dog is a nice image, but his outstretched arms were crying out for breakage. Both of the initial hot dog bobbles we got last year had at least one hand snapped off at the wrist. Fortunately, I noticed early and was able to swap them at field level guest relations. Though, at least the retail Chorizo looks happy. The other does not.
