  1. Does the number 18 mean anything to you? Clearly this means that Gabe Gross will rake tonight. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Welcome back, wOOgiE.
  2. Rickie looks like he's giving a Fonzie-esque AAYYYY with his thumb up. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif So there's only a retro Prince? I ask only because the others have multiple photographs. And yeah, Harvey almost doesn't look right without a wad between his cheek and gums. But I'm looking forward to collecting that bobble anyway.
  3. Billyhallfan, and others wondering about the one-liner issue, you won't be warned or banned for a one line post (unless it's all swearing or something). If one-liners are all you produce, that's what concerns us. As with much else in life, moderation is the key.
  4. I just thought I'd share with everyone that I had a dream last night of Bill Hall hitting a late inning homerun after getting no hits in his previous at bats. Schlitz001's dream is still plausible. Just saying.
  5. Jim P. said some of the parking lots are full (as of 10-15 minutes ago). Good to hear of a big crowd. I wonder how much is Braun-fueled walkup. C'mon, Cappy and Co - right the ship already.
  6. Nice to hear from you, steve267268! and go Brewers.
  7. They're at 118,593 with one day to go. Not unless they can sell more than 70,000 on Monday. I'll admit, though, that's a decent rebound from Saturday, when the two-day total was 69,700. They've packed so much other stuff at the Coliseum grounds now (bands, carnival/midway, ice cream stand to take up stomach space that previously was available for more brats) that brats aren't as central to the event anymore.
  8. wOOgiE is away for the weekend. He mentioned it briefly in Friday's IGT. So we'll kick it old-school today yet. Go Brewers. (Surprise me.) And remember, everyone, Peavy is the Padres' pitcher. Peavey is part of the bf.net family! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. I'll take Futurama v.3 off your hands; *and* I live in Madison, so maybe we can avoid postage and stuff. Send me a PM. (Someone had to reply.)
  10. 36,360 brats consumed yesterday. That's not a record setting pace....again.
  11. Weeks Braun Hardy Fielder Hall Estrada Jenkins TGJ Pitcher It feels a little like Christmas. It's even the 25th of the month!
  12. I yearn for the days gone by, when you ate your brats in peace on the curbs of Regent & Midvale. Amen, brewstew, amen. It was a nice neighborhood-style event. The long lines were part of the fun. Everyone worked together to set new brat records. We went every day and eagerly awaited the hourly flip to the latest brat count. If you wanted more than the free dixie cup of Pepsi (or Diet Pepsi!), you could duck into Sentry and buy what you wanted. At the Coliseum grounds, it's like every other fest. You can improve the amenities (parking, general space, activities/bands), but you can't duplicate the feel of the original. Despite the improvements, the bratfest record still belongs to the last year it was at Hilldale. Coincidence? I think not. (The only thing I like better about the new bratfest is the addition of Boca brats. I have gotten one every year, along with a regular brat, just to support that cause.)
  13. I like brats, and I like haiku...but I don't like the term "bratku." Still, thanks for the link (har, get it? Link? Like a sausage link?...yeah, not funny) At first I thought this might be connected to the Brat Fest that started about 90 minutes ago in Madison. For those of you who don't live in Dane County, the local Brat Fest started in the parking lot at Hilldale Mall, where it remained (and grew) until a few years ago when they moved the show to the Coliseum (or Alliant Energy Center for you new-school types). Now the event is a soulless shell of its former self, and the Hilldale lot has been replaced by condos and parking ramps. Oh, and Madisonians, they're charging $1.50 for a brat now. $1.50! (It was $1.00 for the first 20-some years of Bratfest)
  14. AND they're charging $1.50 for brats this year. Outrageous!
  15. That is one swell photo of Greg Maddux, wOOgiE. He's my age, y'know.
  16. Well, remember, NMF, don't make it about you having to pick up her slack. Take the approach of how it makes the front desk operation look to guests. That emphasizes that you and the supervisor are on the same page. Good luck. Sorry, I guess this post isn't about what's bugging me. I hope it does not bug anyone too much.
  17. I always wonder when people sue over the death of a loved one and win money, do they spend it on themselves? Well, there's spending and then there's Spending. Going on a shopping spree, for lack of a better phrase, seems pretty cold. If I lost my S.O., got money from a related lawsuit, and used it to, say, pay down our mortgage so I could stay in our home...that doesn't seem quite so gratuitous. (And I hope it never becomes necessary.) Bwaz, I appreciate the reminder that we don't know the whole story, and that there is room in the judicial system to weed out the (relatively) spurious litigation. It's hard for me to have patience with the deceased in the case, given his apparent impairment while he drove, and it pains me extra that this guy whose car stalled has to go through this crap, but I'll try to reserve judgement for now. (Though my sympathy for the whole situation has pretty much plummeted.)
  18. So...can one of the attorneys on this forum provide some insight (not legal advice, just an opinion) on what makes it valid to go after the tow truck customer? Is it more than the theory expressed above (sue everyone in sight and see what sticks)? And please forgive my legal ignorance in asking. Speaking strictly as a lay person when it comes to the law and litigation, I can see more of a case for the other parties named in the lawsuit - mostly the restaurant, and to a lesser extent the tow truck company/operator.
  19. Is the the team of jerks? (Haven't thought of a more genteel way to ask.) Either way, good luck.
  20. The Yost comment is on target, except it needs the phrase "his tail off" - as in "he's busting/playing/(other action verb) his tail off out there."
  21. Yeah, a trip to Woodman's might be just what the crew needs, but at 10:30pm, I might be scared for my life. Oh, Peavey, it's not like you'd be on State Street.
  22. Brewerjamie, if you're reading, I think some of your patented smack talk may be called for. Hurry!
  23. Ohhh, sure. I'll remind you of my mailing address via ezinbox. Thanks for the thought.
  24. JP is speculating a "blister problem" on Ben's pitching hand.
