  1. I've got to side with Casey on the paper towel issue. It's neat to be able to tear off (about) a half sheet for a small job rather than waste a bigger sheet.
  2. Continuing the trend started a few posts up...I'm curious to know if Need More Fans' co-worker ever caught some heat for spending so much of her work shift on personal phone calls: E-mail has been sent to my 2 supervisors about my co-worker last night. I sure hope she gets talked to about it.
  3. Is it too early for a players only closed door meeting? I vote either for this or team hypnosis.
  4. I think in an "every man's death diminishes me" sense, it's OK to say that Mr. Falwell's death is 'sad.' The history of religious and political discourse on this forum has been such that just about any other comment on a topic of this sort will get out of control quickly. That is unfortunate, but it makes me support Brian's decision.
  5. It's good to return to "live" wOOgiE action! Welcome back and go Brewers! As a potential (though small sample) bonus, it appears that Claudio rakes vs. Eaton.
  6. There's no way I could have been the only poster here who held my breath during that slide. Right?
  7. I'm going to try to focus on what the Brewers have, instead of what they could/should/would have had.
  8. I wish there weren't baserunners at the moment, but I'll applaud Dave Bush for his gritty battlin' and grindin' tonight, especially after getting plugged in the leg.
  9. moyer is one of these pitchers that really worry me... Before anyone else worries a great deal, please note that Jamie Moyer is older than I am. And I'm older than the majority of you. As for J.J., well, I returned from the basement to find a lead and another dinger for him, and I was speechless - only able to laugh a joyous laugh.
  10. Whoever signs up for LambeauLeap.net, I will in exchange fold 45 seconds worth of your laundry. Is that retroactive to last fall? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. Moving this to the Trading Post subforum...
  12. The post is edited to reflect Monday's opponent at the end. So, beat the Phillies!
  13. And the Phillies and Cubs are now in a rain delay in the 8th.
  14. A pure joy thread without needing to be relevant to anything other than expressing the fun we are having might finally be useful/fun. I nominated Jamie's "This Is Insane" thread in the major leagues forum, when I bumped it back up a few minutes ago. If it catches on, I'll edit the title to include Pure Joy or some such.
  15. Since there's not much I can add about J.J.'s sheer awesomeness, I'll do two things: 1. Applaud Corey Hart's three-bagger. Never surrender! 2. Give brewers19 my sympathy for having gotten to Friday's game instead of Saturday's. Today's game was meant for you, 19. I'm sure of it.
  16. That game is also memorialized in the WOAH SOLVDD subforum. Once again I appreciate wOOgiE's choice of photo for the opponent's starter - riding the pine, looking like he rues a poor performance.
  17. Does anyone have an extra Gameday #4 (Houston series)? I have extras of 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7.
  18. Yes, it's that style. And that photo makes it look brighter red than it did in person.
  19. What a pleasant day for a ballgame! For the first time possibly ever, the Brewers' overall winning percentage is greater than their winning percentage in games I attend (hawing record in 2007 is now 3-2). I do wish the Nats had brought in Ray King, though at least we got to see him warm up. Their pitcher management seemed a little odd. I suppose they weren't expecting extra innings. Here's hoping that the beautiful dream continues on the road.
  20. I saw someone at Thursday's game in an authentic (-looking, at least) Nationals jersey. I would have offered my condolences, but the game hadn't started yet and I didn't want to jinx the Brewers. I have to say, the jersey looked pretty decent. Red with the DC lettering, and not as bright a red as those Pirates alternates. Also: My S.O.'s answer to the question posed by the subject line is, "They had Ronnie Belliard in at 1B. That's bad."
  21. UeckerAddict is correct. Today is Prince's 23rd birthday. I'll tell him happy birthday for y'all. Though he may not hear me from section 209, and over the high pitched din of all the school kids upstairs.
  22. (you Wisconsin-ites can have your Squeeze Play. I'll watch the whole game unfold.) Oh, yeah, pitch? I'll be watching in person.
  23. What? Trent Durrington wasn't available? Trent Durrington can pitch? I never saw that thread here. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Splitter, I hope you're right about Vargas. I don't want to see another loss on Wednesday. But back to the game at hand: go Brewers tonight!
