  1. Pedro, I sent you an inbox message.
  2. The Brewers' website. I went to video highlights from the wrap for Monday's game. LINK There are several video clip choices right under the headline, byline, etc. "Fielder's shots" was where I heard the whoa.
  3. Yeah. But think of how much better that is than being irregular.
  4. I just watched the online highlights of Prince's home runs. I wonder how often Vin Scully is moved to say "Whoa!"
  5. I was just going to go to bed. Now it's 8-3. I'm torn!
  6. B19, were you recently an ezsupporter? (i.e. did it expire recently) Because the loss of ezsupporter status seems to have wreaked havoc with others' signatures.
  7. Well, I'll give a tip of the cap to Ned for trying something different, especially moving Hall down in the lineup. And Rickie leads off with a hit!
  8. And Hawing, that is an awesome avatar. Why, thank you, Stevo. It was surprisingly difficult to find. I expected "blue kool-aid" to produce more google image results than it did.
  9. Sheethead appears to be drinking the blue kool-aid. But I admire his enthusiasm!
  10. Apparently I should go to Woodman's when the Brewers are playing like crap more often.... You know they're open 24-7, Peavey. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I'm mighty glad they avoided the sweep today. Put some pieces back together for the road trip, now.
  11. With that, I'd officially rather go grocery shopping at Woodman's on a Sunday afternoon than watch this crap any longer. Whoa, Peavey, that's pretty serious.
  12. If anyone comes home from Sunday's game with an extra SGA comic book (found one left behind, or your kids didn't want theirs), would you send me a PM? Thanks.
  13. Dear, dear posters: Imagine my surprise when I returned home from 8 hours on the road to find that this thread format (pretty much) survived the night! Well done, and at least a novel approach to another crapfest (the end of which I heard on the car radio). Could someone remind me that things won't always be this bad? (on the field, not in the forum) Love you all lots, hawing P.S. Brewers19 still gets my props for making the format suggestion. Summer interns who show initiative are the best summer interns around. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. In the context of bf.net, I have come to like the phrase "pitching really well" - as long as it's not vs. the Brewers or another part of its organization. I had my Walkman on at Friday's game and was pleased to hear JP mention Mass Haas and the site, regardless of the context.
  15. JenkinsBomb, I can get you 2, 3, and 7. If you are still interested, send me an ezinbox message with your postal address. Besides what I can supply to JenkinsBomb, I have extras of 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, and 8. If anyone ever had an extra #4 (Houston series), that's all I lack.
  16. Dear Islands and Stevo: Appreciate the thought from last night; but seeing as though we sit in the family section, you just might have made the right call. Welcome to Madison (Islands at least), hawing. Dear Brian the Automator: This was a nifty idea that summer intern of yours had. Give him whatever quality summer interns get. It means more coming from you. Kudos to b19, hawing
  17. Dear baseball gods: Please don't smite the Brewers in retaliation for brettac's possibly inspiring Scott Baker to a career performance tonight (with his previous letter a few posts up). And could you rest Jeff Cirillo tonight? The point has been driven home to the Brewer faithful already. Finally, the Brewers broadcast will be our background noise on our way home from an out of town family function tonight. Please make it less painful than last year's Saturday home game vs. the Twins. Thank you, on all counts. Respectfully, hawing
  18. OK, having had some sleep I have now got our Paulies out of the box and assembled in front of me. The two we have do look different. On one, there is a hole under Paulie's right thumb, which allows the bat to fit better (and stay in place). The other one lacks that extra hole, and although I can get the bat to rest in place, it doesn't stay well. (I can turn the other upside down and the bat stays in.) I wouldn't quite call it "filled in with paint", so Peavey, yours may be worse yet; but the space under the thumb does seem to make a difference. I don't think lil' Paulie's hands would survive any kind of power tool. But if you had a small awl or something, you might be able to gradually create a slightly bigger hole; or poke through the extra paint, if it's more a matter of paint blocking the bat hole. Either that, or I would approach it from the bat angle - cut it a bit or shave off some of that little lighter brown part, and then it might fit better in the hole you've got. That's all I have for suggestions. (P.S. Perhaps I should point out that our extra Molitor is spoken for already.)
  19. I'll check ours in the morning, Peavey. So far I've only checked through the plastic to make sure they were not broken.
  20. I'd rather get all the crap games out of the way now and play for real in June/July and onward. Pitchleague just wants a good game on June 24. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Another big crowd, another night where the main attraction turned out to be the bobblehead. Our little box section was about 80-20 Brewers-Twins fans, and it looked to me like Brewers fans filled the majority of seats overall. There was a LOT of Brewers swag, both worn and newly purchased. The home team fans were into the game until that forgettable third inning. After that, even I lost some interest. Our immediate area was calm, but several of the terrace level employees told us after the game that they'd had to break up numerous fights. One employee said the Twins fans were "worse than Chicago fans," which I thought was a meaningful statement. It made me wonder what the Twins fans had to be upset about (that, and what's up with that saying "Minnesota nice"?). And to think that I was worried about the bottom third of the Brewers lineup. OK, the leadoff spot too (sorry, Gabe). Then it turned out the whole lineup was a black hole. So the hawing ticket is now 3-3 (W, L, W, L, W, L). If the pattern continues, everyone should go on May 29, avoid May 31 and go on June 3.
  21. I completely agree, Peavey. SLAM! GUH! BOOF! Though the Boofster was born in 1981. His parents certainly should have been familiar with the Batman fight vocabulary, but it's not like Batman was in prime time then. I thought you'd have left for Milwaukee by now. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. I'd completely forgotten that Jeff Cirillo ought to be in the house. I'll cheer extra for those of you who can't attend. Though if it's 'Rillo vs. Cordero in the 9th...sorry, Jeff. But I don't think having Jeff bite us in the rear would be as vexing as, say, Victor Santos or Wes Helms. (I'd even forgotten that Fridays are retro nights until eyeing wOOgiE's retro graphics. But the semester's almost over; I expect to be more on the ball after this.) If you're in the vicinity of terrace box 417 tonight, feel free to say hey. We're on the aisle of either row 5 or 6.
  23. Congratulations. So Ed Thomas Ins. has a chokey bullpen? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  24. CRUSH! STOMP! HOME! You forgot BOOF! I think "boof" has potential as a verb.
  25. I trust at least one of you will bring a laptop - and you'll find a place with wi-fi access to meet at - so y'all can still post.
