    Ugh. Nomah's first time up I noticed he had "only" 6 HR and was hoping it would stay that way, at least over the next few days. Well, buckle down, Sharpie. I still heart you.

    I am hearting Sharpie and the Crew so far tonight. And I share J.J.'s pain, literally. Both the S.O. and I have been battling the plantar fasciitis since around the time we moved this summer. It's no fun, and recovery is slow (at least for those of us who are not professional athletes). Nice belated efforts on the pirate talk. G'arr!

    Maybe the 'stros were so stung by the Brewers' spoiler efforts against them the last year or two, that they decided enough is enough this year? Obviously the Brewers have done their fair share toward digging the hole they're in this series; but I think if I were a Houston player or fan, I'd be scowling when Milwaukee came to town. Just my attempt at rationalization. It's no worse than wondering if Hardy's absence has made the difference these last few days.

Is a 5th starter needed again over the next two weeks? Maybe the brass will finally be convinced to give someone else a try. (Reminds me of the Simpsons garbage man episode: "Someone else! Someone else!") Though I doubt anyone else on this forum cares, the Wisconsin volleyball team whaled on Valparaiso tonight at the Field House. The Badgers are looking stronger than last year.

    Yes, despite my carrying my lucky blue Sharpie pen around (in my left hand) since the game started, Sharpie has been...not sharp. So I have a stupid superstition. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

    I'll tell you, if either Royce Clayton or Kelly Stinnett proves to be the Brewers' downfall tonight, I'll be one unhappy camper. So where were the storms worst? There seemed to be watches (and red globs on the radar) all around Madison but not *in* Madison.

    Am I goofy to wonder why Eveland? Then maybe JDLR? And not Wise? I mean, I was just vowing to turn off the radio and leave if they put in Victor, but still. Please, Brewers, don't implode. I'm not that much into Rick Helling but I really want to change the "wins to 81" number in my tagline. 09/09/2005: 11 wins to 81. Don't stop believing. Obviously, that gets my nod for best brewerfan.net tagline. I can think of about 11 similar taglines I'd like even better than the specific one above. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif But I'm glad you like it, msc. Despite my general dislike of Journey, I'd gladly blast this song if the Brewers reach 81 this year. (And if I had a copy of it.)

    Get off his back. He has done a heckuva job. What ja002h said. Jamie's smack talk made the Bosox world champions last year, and we can only hope that it helps boost the Brewers a little today.

    And just imagine, Madison's channel 3 sacrificed a whole 10 seconds of its sportscast to mention the Brewers. At least they showed JJ's homerun *and* got his name right. (Their new sports director has called him "Jeff Hardy" more than once.) I don't have a problem with prep coverage, but they'd have probably done the same on a non-prep night.
