  1. Brewerjamie's jersey is a David "Stormy" Weathers special. Bye Victor, better luck next time old friend. Sure, as long as you're not playing the Brewers. It was redeeming to see the Victor of most of '05 tonight - in the opposing uniform. Right down to his body language which to me has always looked lackadaisical. I realize it may not be, but bleah. My curse on Jack Wilson finally took hold when he had that throwing error. That was satisfying. I had to take one of my can't-trust-him walks around the concourse when Kolb took the mound. He must accomplish more before he can earn back my confidence. It felt like a no-brainer to stand for Prince's last at bat. Everyone around us just kind of did it as a matter of course. We all know he'll be fine. In the way-off chance that Mark Attanasio is reading, THANK YOU again for the freebie game at the end of last season. That led to our vouchers for "best available" tickets for tonight's game, which were awesome (112, not far from the Brewers' dugout). I had a great angle on the Capuano-to-Fielder pickoff path - almost worth letting some Pirates get on base - and we even won free pizza coupons when the kid won the catching contest and section 112 was the section of the night. $38 seats for $14 (plus we got to see the last home game last year). I'm so glad the season is underway.
  2. Can Cirillo be OD hero 2 years in a row? Works for me. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. Made it! Dryer guy came right on time and left just as Robin was being introduced. He told me about his childhood antic of taking his brother's Yount cards and putting them in his bike spokes. The brother has yet to forgive him for that. Dryer guy also pronounced it "sick" that I took the day off to watch opening day. Hmph.
  4. I'll be back at the computer as soon as the dryer guy brings our part. Till then I have to keep the phone line open. And don't get on my back for not having DSL!
  5. What's so cool about tonight is imagining the possibilities for the season. Not that we haven't been doing just that since October 2; but the proof starts in less than 24 hours. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Remember, Brewers: Give Sharpie some run support for a change. Go team!
  6. There are two "gals" on the map now. I didn't know IIAY was from Ridgeway. HHH and Ayers Furniture! (My brother teaches in Dodgeville)
  7. I also have some BF.Net shirts to give away that I "accidentally" bought. Get the bf.net staff to autograph them. Now THAT would be a collector's item.
  8. I have some candidates from the hawing collection. I'll inbox you, Jamie, so you can let me know what you think off list. EDIT: I'll send a message to your brewerfan email instead. Less cutting and pasting.
  9. Us 40-year olds can be the "Damien Millers" of BF.net Oh, don't drag the good name of Damian Miller into this. I won't speak for Jimbo, but I'd be more the John Vander Wal of bf.net (he's a 1966-er too).
  10. I think a combination of black and blue sleeved jerseys will be the perfect way to communicate to the rest of the league what a bunch of gritty battling hardworking gamers you folks are. I mean, you ARE, aren't you?!?
  11. Those look sweet. I envy you guys a bit. But I'm useless with a bat, ball and/or glove and I don't live close enough to probably even visit. I'll root for bf.net from afar.
  12. Davis sounding sharp so far (except for that HR) Yeah, but once again the Brewers couldn't get him the W. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  13. Moeller up with the bases loaded. Chad, you can alter the debate right now if you choose... EDIT: See?!? He drove in a run...using his head. (HBP in the helmet, Bob says he's OK)
  14. If he can't have a February birthday, he should at least be a Pisces. Congratulations!
  15. Originally, your posting "status" would change based on the number of posts you make. Persons with 0-100 posts were Rookies, 101-1000 were Regulars, and 1001+ All-Stars. This system was altered last year, so that "rookies" wouldn't feel intimidated and "all-stars" wouldn't get too big a head. Everyone at that point became "members"...except site staff, and a handful of posters whose previous status (rookie/regular/all-star) has for some mysterious ezboard reason still stuck.
  16. I thought this thread was for griping about brewerjamie15. I don't understand you people anymore. Edit: I'm not aiming to pick on the previous tangent that actually involved Jamie, and appears to be resolved. But if madbad must be picked on, can't it be in a separate thread? (or, like he suggested, a private one?)
  17. Whoa! I guess I missed the big news today. That'll teach me to spend part of the work day at a mandatory program on "Customer Service - Disney Style." (Don't ask.) Wow, Jamie, I remember when you were just starting out posting. You're a good choice for PR, though. Congratulations and don't forget us little people next weekend. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  18. Actually, it's 5 years in May or June I think... but hey, we can celebrate early So it's the 5th anniversary year. That gives you the right from now 'til 2007 to celebrate it, or at least mention it, as often as you want. Congratulations! (And I can't believe I've been participating since 2003. I believe my first post was something misguided, and best forgotten, about Glendon Rusch.)
  19. doesn't Wilde write for the State Journal? Yes, he does. If you want to split hairs, the State Journal and Cap Times have the same corporate parent; but their similarities don't go much farther than that.
  20. Todd Finkelmeyer's weekly "Hit and Run" column in today's Capital Times features bf.net front and center: www.madison.com/tct/sport...91&ntpid=2 Since the content may not stay for long, here is the text of the part that involves the site: Todd Finkelmeyer: For Brewers fans, this is one hot stove By Todd Finkelmeyer December 10, 2005 A couple items to ponder while thawing out in front of the fireplace: ** The Milwaukee Brewers' season opener at Miller Park is still 114 days away, so you might be surprised to learn how many people are paying close attention to this franchise - even during football season. When news broke at about 11 p.m. Wednesday that Milwaukee traded Lyle Overbay to the Toronto Blue Jays, a thread to discuss the deal was started on a fan forum at brewerfan.net - a truly informative/entertaining Web site regarding all things Brewers. One hour later - at midnight, in the middle of baseball's offseason - the Overbay trade thread had been clicked on nearly 3,000 times. By 1 p.m. Thursday, more than 15,000 had viewed the thread - to either join in on the discussion or simply see what others thought about the deal that brought the Brewers right-hander Dave Bush, outfielder Gabe Gross and pitching prospect Zach Jackson. That's an average of more than 1,000 mouse clicks per hour on that single topic over a 14-hour span. From here, those numbers are an eye-opener.
  21. Well, that was a medium sized bowl of crap. But I can't be disappointed in the season as a whole. Had someone told us in April that the Brewers would flirt with a better than .500 season with two DL stints for Ben Sheets...what would you have said? They were about as good as they were bad. What could be more appropriate than 81-81? I am particularly excited about 2006, though. (Perhaps starting with the Winter Meeting?) Let's not be strangers in the off-season.
  22. Even the new improved G-Love is powerless against the scurvy dog Jack Wilson. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  23. April 3, 2006 cannot come soon enough. Yeah. Another matchup with the scurvy Pirates. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/indifferent.gif
