  1. I have no inside information, but if I were going to make a long-term guess, the Selig Experience space could very reasonably remain a "franchise history" exhibit, but not always with Selig as the primary focus. Kauffman Stadium has a Royals Hall of Fame, with similar history and memorabilia, which I really enjoyed when we were last there in 2012. I've only seen it the one time, so I don't know if they rotate exhibits or change out memorabilia. They had on-field artifacts as well as samples of old SGA items. For the time being, with Bud so recently retired and still alive, I'd guess we can anticipate the Selig Experience being as-is for a while. We were at two of the Arizona games this weekend, but I figured there would be a long wait for entry and decided to wait for a smaller weeknight crowd. Of course, had we known there would be several hours of near-inactivity on the field on Sunday, we could have probably gone through several times.
  2. Day game plus day job responsibilities means you just get lineups from hawing. That bottom half of the order is pretty Skywaukee if you ask me. BREWERS SS Jean Segura ® LF Gerardo Parra (L) CF Carlos Gomez ® 1B Adam Lind (L) C Jonathan Lucroy ® RF Shane Peterson (L) 3B Hector Gomez ® 2B Hernan Perez ® RHP Jimmy Nelson ® CARDINALS 2B Kolten Wong (L) 3B Matt Carpenter (L) LF Matt Holliday ® SS Jhonny Peralta ® CF Randal Grichuk ® 1B Mark Reynolds ® C Yadier Molina ® RF Jason Heyward (L) RHP John Lackey ®
  3. I've been on the Joe Block bandwagon since he came to Milwaukee, and my impression of Jeff Levering for these last two games has been positive too. Jeff in particular sounds less new (I don't know how better to phrase that). I was especially happy for him that the three-consecutive-dingers last name came during one of his innings. Jeff also has been hosting a podcast called Brewers On Tap - which has probably been mentioned on the forum already, but since this is a Levering thread, I'll include its link here: http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/fan_forum/podcasts/index.jsp?c_id=mil
  4. 6:08 PM for the first pitch. I'm sure that means Detroit is sending a secret shoutout to south central/southwest Wisconsin (i.e. the 608). Anyway - the Brewers' second interleague series of the season, and first on the road. Brewers: CF Carlos Gomez ® LF Khris Davis ® RF Ryan Braun ® DH Aramis Ramirez ® 1B Jason Rogers ® 3B Elian Herrera (S) SS Luis Sardinas (S) 2B Hector Gomez ® C Martin Maldonado ® RHP Mike Fiers ® Tigers: CF Anthony Gose (L) 2B Ian Kinsler ® 1B Miguel Cabrera ® DH Victor Martinez (S) RF J.D. Martinez ® LF Rajai Davis ® 3B Nick Castellanos ® C James McCann ® SS Jose Iglesias ® LHP Kyle Lobstein (L)
  5. The Brewers' authentics presence on the internet has said in the past to email gameused@brewers.com if there's something specific you're hoping to find. I'd try that if you haven't already. Otherwise, if you go in the bobble direction, I am pretty sure there's a CJC Bierbrauer among our stash of extras. Send me a DM tweet if you want me to check this weekend.
  6. You guys, CJC is batting Lohse 8th. How trendy!
  7. The Brewers just tweeted that Jean Segura has right pinky finger soreness and has been scratched. The updated lineup (with Elian leading off) is now in place in the lead post.
  8. Bahaha...the Fiers-Sale matchup. (Say it quickly) Seriously, I hope the Brewers have something left in the tank after last night.
  9. Imagine the spellmageddon that would result if the Brewers ever signed Jarrod Saltalamacchia. (Though if that day ever comes, I'm getting the shirsey just because.)
  10. That Greinke photo brings back 98 percent of my fan crush.
  11. We attended six games in April and the Brewers were 1-5 in them. Last night was the first actually *fun* game we'd been at since last summer (albeit more so in the latter innings). The other win we saw (4/26) was more of a relief than anything else; it was hard even to find particular joy in beating STL. On a different note, may I suggest we adopt CJC as shorthand for Craig Counsell? Every time I've seen "CC" on this board or elsewhere online since Sunday night, I've still thought Sabathia first. It might also help me break the habit of wanting to type CRAIGGERS. Edit: An off-field highlight for me last night was seeing Bucky Badger slide down after Bernie for Hector's home run. I'm afraid the only proof that might exist is one blurry photo I took with a still camera. We saw Bucky had joined Bernie in his dugout to jump around, then stayed, and I said to the SO "Man, I'd like to see a home run so Bucky can slide." Sometimes it's the little things.
  12. The Brewers aren't infallible, but they're savvy enough to not have a next-day presser just to announce Narron. That would be a really lame buildup.
  13. I have a hard time believing they'd schedule a next-day presser to announce someone from within the organization. Unless it's Robin, whose presence would keep ticket sales from totally tanking, but has he managed anywhere?
  14. I was just trying to figure out how to post that graphic here. The Brewers released this on social media before their own website. [sarcasm]That'll teach 'em to win two games in a row![/sarcasm]
  15. Rotowire has Addison Russell batting ninth and Jake Arrieta eighth, so that's what I filled in above. We'll see if that remains accurate.
  16. Until/in case the graphics can catch up, here are the lineups for this morning (CT) start game: Brewers SS Jean Segura CF Logan Schafer RF Ryan Braun 1B Adam Lind 3B Aramis Ramirez LF Khris Davis C Martin Maldonado 2B Hector Gomez RHP Matt Garza Reds CF Billy Hamilton SS Zack Cozart 3B Todd Frazier RF Jay Bruce 2B Brandon Phillips LF Marlon Byrd 1B Kris Negron C Tucker Barnhart RHP Mike Lorenzen Let's go, visitors? Please?
  17. Russell Branyan. One of my favorite threads around these parts was Russell's 2008 callup. "This calls for a sexy party!"
  18. http://www.stumptuous.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/pray_for_mojo.png Or at least pray for an end to the anti-mojo?
  19. I'm pretty sure that latter option was surgically made impossible for the ballpark pup. NO IN-GAME HOSTS or HOSTESSES. I want to follow a team that has learned from the mistake of stationing Sandy Maxx at The Pointe. It would just make it that much more amazing and distracting if he fathered a little of puppies after being neutered! #MiraclePups
  20. I'm going to quote part of a text exchange between me and thablingster as the 8th inning ended last night: me: At least it's still a game at 9:18! Oh, wait, K-Rod. thablingster: Right. me: So hard not to predict HR, Chapman, 2-13. So the only thing I got wrong was the WP replacing the HR. Otherwise, the main drag of this game for me was simply the context of the mega-slump. I actually like pitching duels and in a vacuum, losing like the Brewers did last night is less sad than losing 10-0 on opening day, or 10-2 after giving up a six-spot in the 9th. I can't think of a time we've started off the hawing household season as 0-5, though. Man.
  21. http://38.media.tumblr.com/7b31dd273547dd994315d4fb7675765a/tumblr_mglfqla8RA1qzwh1uo1_500.gif Yup, this. LaRussa is a jackass. Not to pile on unduly, but TLR at the helm in Milwaukee is one of very few things that would make me reconsider being a season ticket holder. Longtime readers here will know that is a strong statement coming from me.
  22. I'm pretty sure that latter option was surgically made impossible for the ballpark pup. NO IN-GAME HOSTS or HOSTESSES. I want to follow a team that has learned from the mistake of stationing Sandy Maxx at The Pointe.
  23. I can't disagree with you there. This was at least interesting.
  24. Jason Marquis started this 2010 game which featured a Counsell grand slam. We were in attendance at Nats Park that day. I believe the Brewers also roughed him up when he was with the Twins. So tonight's game could be a decent litmus test for the Brewers' offense. I tried not to make that seem totally full of doom. Edit: and now that it's a Skywaukee lineup, who knows what to think?
  25. Tiny sliver of levity: There was a guy sitting near us at Monday's game wearing a Chad Moeller jersey. It was not Chad Moeller.
