  1. The Braves offense is historically good. they're not afraid of anyone. not should they be Don't get me wrong. I love the optimism here. But we'd be huge dogs, and rightfully.
  2. Listening on the radio, the radio guys (who very, very rarely question ball/strike calls) were puzzled how that was called a ball. They're usually pretty benign about borderline calls, preferring (presumably) to not bog down a broadcast with blathering on about bad calls. But that one they were pretty openly critical of.
  3. Yah I'll be surprised if Scherzer comes back out for the 4th. Even just getting two runs out of that, getting Scherzer out of the game early is a win.
  4. What do you want him to do, toss it up there underhand? Hit batters are part of baseball. Every guy that goes up to the plate knows that. There's no way that was intentional, or even a "message" pitch.
  5. Accidents happen. It's part of baseball.
  6. Bases loaded in a tie game, that was absolutely not on purpose. It's hot and muggy, and he's laboring. He lost control of one, that's all.
  7. Two runs on one hit. Who says batting average matters?? 😁
  8. much less drama today. Megill looked sharp tonight
  9. let's bust this wide open and Chafin-proof this game now.
  10. Not a terrible pitch, low and away. Just golfed it into the gap.
  11. The ball he hit out there earlier in the game just died, so I didn't think this one was going to carry.
  12. That will make the bullpen choices for the rest of the game (hopefully) easier.
  13. That may be true, but what he does with that data can also be questionable (re: Keston Hiura last year).
  14. Frelick has great baseball acumen. good baseball IQ. can't overstate how much that shows up everyday.
  15. 2nd and 3rd with nobody out and can't move anyone.
  16. Corbin hitting a lot of barrels tonight.
  17. Interestingly, the Cubs are +10000, who seem like (at this point) a stronger bet.
  18. Vegas currently has the Brewers at +3000 for winning the WS.
  19. BRef had them at 49% to make the postseason, and 0.4% to win the whole shebang as of this morning. That's not Vegas odds but it's at least a ballpark number.
  20. Santana and Canha are both old, OPS-ing under .600 as Brewers, and don't offer much more than what they already have on their roster. Rating these as A and B moves at this stage (or D or F grades) is premature at best. I understand that there's a want to analyze the trades, but neither guy has performed yet.
