  1. Posted that on Dec. 20th. Turns out I was wrong.
  2. unbespeechlessable
  3. Kentucky shot 60% in the half, and the game is tied.
  4. Koenig's a good baller, but he tends to think he needs to do too much on his own. I know the Badgers let a 9 point lead go, but this is a game at half, and that's all they could ask for at this point. They sustained UK's first run.
  5. Downtown Milwaukee is NOT hard to get around in. Compared to other metro areas, downtown Milwaukee simply isn't that bad, and has some nice areas. People that say they "hate downtown" due to congestion and such are ignoring the fact that most of the business areas in the suburbs are just as much, if not moreso congested as downtown.
  6. I know it's early, but the Badgers are playing their offense and looking good doing it.
  7. Batman Al Geno rluz xis 950opslhcatcher ha! People move on, or get bored with re-hashing the same old arguments. It's still fun to read the boards, but not exactly the same.
  8. Has Dekker improved his stock in this tourney to the point where he may consider leaving? He's been really good in this run. Really really good.
  9. To be completely honest, I think the selection committee gave them the 7 seed as a gift. "Kansas keeps ducking you? Alright. Win your first round game, and you guys get them in round 2." Wichita St is, in essence, the 2 seed now.
  10. I'd like to think I'd remain a fan, but realistically if they became the Portland Brewers, or Charlotte Brewers, or whatever, I honestly would not follow them any longer. I wouldn't care about the circumstances or the method....... I just wouldn't care. I wouldn't hold a grudge, but I just can't see myself caring about a team half a country away. Also, JohnBriggs, those are some fantastic posts. Thanks.
  11. I'm at 13/16 in my Sweet 16. My final 4 (UW, Kentucky, Duke, Louisville) is still standing. It was a good year to not pick a lot of upsets. The only big slips I had were picking Iowa St and Baylor to the Elite 8. Both are still correctable mistakes though. :D
  12. Badgers didn't look very good tonight, but they're moving on. Oregon really is a one-man team. Bucky will need a better effort against UNC.
  13. I don't believe you. You can not believe me, I had NC St in the sweet 16. To be fair, I also had Iow a St in the eleite 8
  14. I had Nova going down to NC St. in my bracket. They are just not a tourney team.
  15. Badgers won't have to play Baylor again......
  16. At some point one of the one-seeds would have to play Arizona. We were likely the lowest one seed. Going out west as a one (and playing AZ in the elite 8) is still better than playing KY in the elite 8 in Cleveland.
  17. we're not the 2 in the Midwest. At this point I really don't care.
  18. Badgers owning overtime. HOpe it's enough to lock up a one.
  19. What a game. Bad time for Dekker to disappear on offense.
  20. Was Notre Dame's impressive ACC tourney run enough to move them to the 2 line? Kansas is 7 - 5 in their last 12 games. I know the Big 12 is a great conference, but so is the ACC, and Kansas has 8 losses, and they blew a huge lead yesterday. Notre Dame went through Duke and UNC to win a conference tourney.
  21. Man.....I really really really really really don't want to end up in Kentucky's bracket. I know that everyone says "You have to beat them sooner or later, so whether it's in the elite 8 or the title game, what does it matter?" It does matter. Making it to the Final Four is a big deal. Cutting down the nets after a regional final victory is a big deal. And I'd love to see the Badgers be able to do that again. Not having to play Kentucky in a regional final makes that a much more likely possibility.
  22. Virginia loses. Duke loses. Now all Bucky can do is continue to win games and hope for the best.
  23. Well since I've proven myself to be Nostradamus, I'll give a crack at the rest of the season: Record:91-61 Is this the new Commish's 152 game schedule?
  24. The problem with baserunning metrics and talking points is there is absolutely no differentiating between "aggressive" outs and plain old "dumb" outs. If a runner is thrown out by a foot, or by 25 feet, the metrics don't measure that, it's just an "out on base". When a guy is thrown out at third base by 25 feet on a grounder hit to shortstop, that is just plain stupid, and absolutely shouldn't happen. The metrics call that "aggressive" and say "the Brewers added X number of runs with aggressive baserunning last year" It would be interesting to know how many of our outs on base were actually close plays, and how many would fall into the truly "Bonehead/mental mistake" category.
  25. I realize that the 2010/11 Uconn Huskies made it to the dance because they won their conference tourney, but they were 9 -9 in the Big East, and won the entire shebang. Setting an artificial qualifier (you must be over .500 to get an invite) doesn't solve problems. Do you believe a one loss team from the Sun Belt is better than a 9 - 9 team from the Big East or the ACC?
