  1. I don't think anyone has been on the 'cut Rickie' bandwagon for a while.
  2. I love how you're only here to criticize other people's posts. That's awesome. Every time the bullpen doesn't have a perfect inning they're going to cost us the season. Every time we make an out on the bases we're the worst base running team in the league. I'm just trying to counteract the abundant negativity during a season when we've been in first place for over 4 months. Awesome strawman statements.
  3. THat's what I didn't get. Cutting off that run was FAR more important than getting that out at 3rd base.
  4. I love how you're only here to criticize other people's posts. That's awesome.
  5. Don't make the last out at 3rd BASE Oh my freaking........
  6. Not a good bunt......man if that pitcher makes a good throw, Weeks was out. HEART. STOP.
  7. It doesn't matter what the offense does or doesn't do. We can't get to the 7th inning lately with a 1 or 2 run lead and assume that the game is in safe hands. Yes, we have only 2 runs. However, it's not like it would be any different if we got to the 7th inning with a 4 - 3 lead, or a 5 - 4 lead. This bullpen can't go 3 innings and hold a lead. It can't. Trying to somehow slide the blame to the offense here is a huge fallacy.
  8. If Parra were an .800 OPS type guy, I could see having this discussion. He's not, he never has been, and I can't for the life of me believe he ever will be. As others have said, Braun is a serviceable outfielder, with a plus arm, and we'd be moving him to a place (infield) where we know he's really really bad, and his one plus attribute (his arm) would serve almost no purpose. To make room for a .720 OPS corner outfielder who's had a DWAR higher than 1.0 once in his career. I just don't see the need for this kind of shuffling.
  9. He's OPS-ing under .600. That's pretty bad. He's been bad offensively for over a year now. Pitchers have figured him out and he has yet to figure out any kind of adjustment. His defense is good, not great, and certainly not good enough to make up for sub-.600 OPS offense. If he doesn't figure it out soon, the Brewers are going to be forced to figure out a solution here.
  10. "Perfectly safe" is a big stretch for just about any drug. The can of Pandora's boxes you want to open just isn't worth it. First how would you be able to tell a person using it under relatively safe protocols vs one who is pushing things to get any sort of edge possible? Second since they do provide an advantage, if you allow them you essentially make them mandatory. Banning them completely may not be the perfect solution, but it is the best and safest option there is right now. No, it's not really a stretch. You're putting words into my mouth. A-I didn't say I advocated it, I simply said that under doctor supervision they are perfectly save. B-How would you tell what a player is using them for? Because they'd be under doctors supervision. C-I never said I was in favor. So please don't say the "Pandora's box YOU want to open." D-Making them acceptable in certain situations, the way they grant some waivers for some drugs would not make them "Mandatory," It's a complex debate and I simply relayed what those smarter than myself had said. Steroids, even when prescribed by a doctor, aren't "perfectly safe". I am prescribed steroid cycles 3 times a year for a medical condition, and each time, my doctor goes over the pros and cons and possible side effects, both short and long term that I could possibly experience. When you say "perfectly safe" you make it sound like there's nothing that could go wrong, ever, if done properly, and that is not true.
  11. I love this http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/11321451/mlb-asks-feds-names-biogenesis-probe MLB officials declined to comment Thursday but have previously expressed frustration that the DEA did not share relevant information about players over the course of their investigation. DEA officials, on the other hand, said they were concerned about the defendants and other distributors, not users, and did not want to share information that could jeopardize an ongoing investigation. SO....... MLB now believes that the DEA somehow is required or obligated to give them information? Does Bud know that in most investigations (ie: "the real world") that busting the dealer is what matters, not the users?
  12. A lot of other years, he'd be in the Cy discussion, but with Wainright and Kershaw being stupid-good this year, Peralta's not even on the radar.
  13. Given the way the bullpen is pitching and everything, I'm happy to get the series win here. Yesterday was disappointing, but we got the win.....so that's a positive.
  14. DA BREAAAAAKABALL!!! Can't hit with yer eyes closed Morse!
  15. Why do you say that, other than "just because" Jeffress doesn't give up a lot of homeruns. Either in the minors, or in his small sample size in the majors over the last few years. In 41 innings in the minors this year, he has given up 0 homeruns.
  16. If Kintzler gives up 5 or more runs in one inning, does someone win a prize?
  17. That's a common play when runners are on first and 3rd. I wouldn't blame anyone but Braun for swinging. The only thing I'd blame Rickie for is hesitating - either take off or stay. That's what I was referencing. He needed to GO if he was going.
  18. Yes, and it looked like the Brewers would be one of those teams. Until Thornburg went down, KRod came back down to earth and Smith turned into a LOGGY. Flying under the radar during all this was Ryan Braun morphing into Kevin Mench. It used to be that you wanted to get the starter out of the game as early as possible. Now if you are losing when the starter leaves, the game's likely over. This. People are wondeirng why offense is down. It's partly because the bullpen is not just the realm of 'failed starters' anymore. A lot of teams have REALLY GOOD bullpens now. Against some teams, you realistically have 6 innings to get your runs.
