  1. How is it that in the last 2 years (in his mid-30's) Marlon Byrd has suddenly become one of the top power hitters in the national league, and there's nary a whisper about how he has suddenly accomplished this.
  2. Maldonado and Overbay will both be picking up an inning tonight.
  3. Ben freaking Revere...... the guy who's about 117 pounds in full gear......
  4. Well this lead is looking decidedly less secure at the moment.......
  5. It's funny, we complain about "Sunday" lineups and jumble lineups, but it just seems to me like this year, they've worked more often than not.
  6. Considering those 2 guys don't walk a lot......yeah. It's like these Major League Baseball Players have suddenly figured out 'not swinging at balls in the dirt' can be productive.
  7. Hey, this is fun, right? After a week of getting 1-2 runs a game, 5 spot in the FIRST is really awesome.
  8. Schafer didn't have to go. Does everyone realize if Schafer stays the inning just goes 2B, 6-3, K, 6-3 and no run. Schafer's baserunning had nothing to do with not scoring there. The problem is that 1) Lucroy should not be trying for a hit and should have bunted or grounded to the right side. 2) Then Gomez should not have tried for a hit and just lofted the ball into the OF or squeezed. Both players should have choked up and not taken full swings, just slapped at the ball. They would rather retire than do this. That doesn't mean it wasn't a base running mistake.
  9. Alright, lets get a few more and get into the good part of our bullpen now.
  10. Waiting for the obligatory "the stats say we're the best baserunning team in the league" post.
  11. Bianchi in the on deck circle? Might as well have Estrada bat.
  12. Sure he said it but he was wrong. Right. Wolf signed in 2010. Greinke and Marcum were traded for before 2011. That's 3/5ths of a staff right there via FA and trade, in 2 off-seasons.
  13. There was an article today about Brewers fans stuffing the vote for our guys. We finished in the top 5 in nearly every position, and got Ramirez and Gomez in, and Lucroy (deserving starter) finished 2nd. Excuse me, but.......how is such overwhelming fan support in the smallest market in the league a bad thing???
  14. Charlie Blackmon going is more a snub than Harrison. Blackmon putting up an .804 OPS in Colorado is pretty darn unimpressive. At least that wasn't Matheny's snub. EDIT: To confirm what I already knew...... .633 OPS away from Coors field.
  15. The first time I read that, I thought you said 'pudding', and to be honest, it still actually made sense that way.
