  1. if we play the dodgers in the wc, we can get them out of the way early
  2. I guarantee either a Brewers win or a cards loss today. guarantee. if it doesn't happen...... I'll admit I was wrong.
  3. I didn’t say body language. I’m basing it on uncharacteristic performance. ok. you don't know anything about their emotional state. they're playing poorly. it happens in 162 games. if you're right or upset or panicking , cool you can feel that way. you can't possibly know how they feel. I could buy a statement like "they look like they're pressing" or Something like that but..... ok
  4. calling a pro athlete an emotional wreck based on body language that you can perceive in brief glimpses through a tv screen is just a huge leap. huge. leap.
  5. I don’t know, but I’m 100% sure there would’ve been a narrative about them celebrating too early if a big celebration had preceded the losing streak. I mean, honestly my comment could have/should have been in blue, but there was a lot of chatter like "we've been here before" etc, etc. lol, we had the LDS/LCS in 18, a one game elimination in 19, and *whatever* last year was. If all that has people spoiled already, I don't know what to say. I know there's a bigger goal in mind, but take pride in the achievements along the way.
  6. Maybe the losing streak is karma for thinking they're too good to celebrate clinching "just" a playoff spot.
  7. Kiermaier said at the moment he picked it up he thought it was his own card. Even if it wasn't, that is not the kind of stuff you throw at someone for. Just idiotic. MLB could honestly put an end to this kind of idiocy by handing out 30 - 60 game suspensions for this kind of stuff, but they won't because "baseball".
  8. 98 OPS+ to 91 for the Brewers. Yeah, it's closer than I thought...I think I'd still take that Royals offense if given the choice, but maybe that's splitting hairs... Brewers are dragged down by having Shaw and Hiura, McKinney and Robertson eating up a lot of really bad PA's (almost 600) in the first half. I won't take away JBJ, as he's still on the team, and still playing a lot. The Royals had 9 regulars and only 4 bench guys who got 100 PA's. They had pretty much the same position players from wire to wire. They weren't particularly good, but they did have a consistent group. LoCain had a really nice season.
  9. It is rare, but the Royals and Giants (twice) have won championships without a superstar stud in the lineup in the last decade. That Royals team was DEEP, though. Giants too. I get the point, of course. I just think those offenses were probably better than this one? Just a gut reaction... That Royals team scored 724 runs, 6th in the AL. Brewers have scored 695 runs, with 12 games left, 5th in the NL
  10. I’m here to provide you with a nervous breakdown. I'm not nervous
  11. I'm just here for the "this is a must win game" posts.
  12. For who? The Cardinals and Brewers are basically locked into their respective playoff spots now. Cardinals take the last two from us Then we lose 2 of 3 to the Mets and the Cards take 3 of 4 from the Cubs Then the Cards sweep us in Stl Then we go into the last weekend at LA and they host the Cubs, only up 3 games It’s very unlikely , but it is not a crazy set of outcomes I'd say that's pretty crazy
  13. I get the frustration, but we've been playing good ball up until (literally) two days ago. It's important to remember that even really good teams are gonna have tough stretches of baseball. We're not a bad offense, or pathetic, or anything else. It's just a tough couple games that I'd rather see now than in the LDS or LCS.
  14. Jake Cousins hasn't exactly been terrible. And we're up 10.5 games. This game isn't *that* important. It sure as heck is to the Reds and Phillies. I don't care about the Reds or Phillies. I don't think their fate is important enough to think that using Jake Cousins in a one run game is a wrong decision.
  15. Jake Cousins hasn't exactly been terrible. And we're up 10.5 games. This game isn't *that* important.
  16. They're 2.5 up on the Reds and 4 up on the Padres. They're probably handling this better than some Brewerfans are.
  17. we are 9-6 in our last 15 games. 2/3 from the phils, 2/3 from the Cards, a sweep of the Indians, dropped 2 to the Tigers and we took 2/3 from the Cubs. We have lost *2* games in a row. I know everyone wants that clincher, but there's nothing going on here other than a regular couple games where the offense scuffles a little bit.
  18. yeah..... that wasn't a high percentage pass though. Just not a great play for fourth and one.
  19. Why would they not run there??
  20. It would cost the Brewers a ton, an absolute metric ton to get out from under that contract, in the unlikely event they could find a taker. I think right now, their honest to gosh best bet is to go into 2022 hoping that he gets right over the winter and gets back to Florida Marlins level Yelich, or even something resembling that. Trying to trade him now would be disastrous.
  21. god I forgot how awful chris berman is.
  22. ask and receive. I mean to me the MNF commentators are wrong. It's a classic grounding. Yes there's a receiver 20 yards down the field that you can construe as an intended receiver. Literally pretty much every grounding situation ever involves pressure that affects a throw. If you're going to just assume that the throw gets there without the pressure then it kind of defeats the purpose of the rule. Yeah, I don't get the "he meant to throw it way downfield". So what? He didn't. the ref's job isn't to determine intent. By rule what occurred was intentional grounding.
