    I don't think anyone in this thread said it's "no big deal". I think almost every said they were disappointed at the very least. I think (as I said before though), there's a virtue in understanding that baseball isn't Devin Williams entire life. He has a family, parents, a girlfriend or wife, siblings? Who knows. Maybe he just got trashed and punched a wall. Maybe he found out someone he's close to is ill. We don't know. Maybe he had a fight with his girlfriend. Again, I'm not excusing any of those things for punching a wall. It's super dumb. But to villify the guy, compare him to OJ, and want to banish him from the state is silly. I get people's emotional responses, even if I don't agree with them. There's being emotional, and then there's *demanding* things like trades, banishment, punishment, etc. Those are silly. It's one thing if someone just says "i'm super pissed about this! What an idiot!" That's fine, I agree with that. Emotions aside, demanding silly things like telling us why he punched a wall, or demanding he get traded, that's non-productive. Stearns will do what he's going to do, and whether we demand it or not, he's going to be a Brewer next year, or not. His friends and family and teammates will forgive him, because that's what people do. Unless he did something truly super heinous. Judging by Stearns approach, I don't think that's it. Live and learn. Grow up and move on. I hope.

    Stearns probably has a good opinion of O.J. Simpson if that is his point of view. oj killed people. Devin Williams punched a wall. perspective.

    I think as others have said, trading Williams will happen if it makes sense from a competitive standpoint. not because he lost his temper and tried to go all Mike Tyson on a wall. scolding him in front of the media and making him take his lumps doesn't make sense if they're going to just trade him. that was a "you're our guy but you need to learn a lesson" moment.

    Yes, but a magic number of 1 with one game remaining in this series and the Braves having 4 more chances to clinch with home games against the Mets (3) and Rockies, the Phillies hopes are all but gone. They really needed two wins in this series and they aren’t getting them. never give up while hope remains.

    But we should not let this guy off the hook. His rash and stupid actions have seriously hurt the team at its most dire point of need. Just saying "oh well" is completely unacceptable. nobody said "oh well". There's anger, disappointment, frustration, and even borderline rage reading in here. however each person feels is how they feel. there's a lot of people who are frustrated and angry about his actions, but also understand he's a human who made a huge regrettable mistake, and aren't ready to condemn him for it.

    I absolutely hope you're right, but considering how the general trend of pitcher usage is going these days, the quality of opponent lineups we are likely to face, the fact that all three top starters are amidst career-highs in innings already, and the fact that CC (like most managers) is likely to have a quicker trigger than normal in the postseason, I think expecting Burnes or Woody, much less Peralta, to suddenly go considerably deeper into games than they usually do is a very optimistic assessment. To be clear, I was eliminating Hader's one inning too. So, only asking 6ish from starter (their normal), 1 Hader, just gotta find 2ish elsewhere. Hopefully on the closer end to two most of the time (again if starters generally do what they've done), especially if Hader grabs and extra out here or there. Starters probably aren't going 6 in the playoffs.

    I am 99% sure if some reporter asked that question he'd say "a personal/family issue", and that would be it. I don't think we need to know what's going on with these guys intimate family lives and inside their heads all the time. It sucks. It was stupid. He absolutely shouldn't have done it, but it's happened, and we, and more importantly the team are gonna have to move on. I think my frustration is that nobody even asks the follow up question. Guaranteed that gets asked in most other markets, regardless of whether we need to know the answer. Let me ask this.... honestly, not trolling or being a wiseacre..... Why do you want to know what he was frustrated about? He said he was drinking and frustrated about something. That's honest. He didn't say he dropped a suitcase on his hand, or some other dumb excuse. Will him being specific about it make you (or anyone) feel better about it? It's probably personal, and if he's not being specific about it, probably something we don't need to know about. I am not excusing the stupidity of wall-punching. Just saying that badgering him about it doesn't change it, or make it easier to take. What is the point?

    Should only be done in a series clinching game. Like Turbo said, if they use Hader for more than an inning, he may not be available for multiple days.

    Spent close to 3/4 billion dollars not quite 20 years ago to upgrade/update Soldier Field, and now they want out of it. I know it's used for more than Football, but yikes.

    Nobody here was ever close to being an integral part of a World Series run. No one here is being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to play that role. The amount of money you make doesn't exempt you from the ability of making very regrettable, very human mistakes.

    Well, there's a barrage of posts in the post-season thread that say we don't wanna play the Phillies in the playoffs because they beat us a few times in the regular season. So maybe we'll be ok......

    We’d better hope so, because I honestly don’t think we have a chance against the cardinals if we play them in the NLCS. I ain't scared.

    It literally doesn't matter at this point. We have clinched the division. The only thing they have to do is avoid injuries. Two questions: do you believe the team thinks it doesn’t matter? And if so, why are you and I even watching? As I said above, I think they're trying to win. I think winning the games is secondary to avoiding injuries and getting guys as rested (as possible) for the playoffs. Within those guidelines, I'm 100% sure they're still trying to win.

    Welcome to my radio- only world. No Usinger's or Cedarcrest in New Orleans. I noticed some Pretzilla at one store. Pretty good but ridiculously expensive. I’d trade local N’awlins cuisine for any Wisconsin food in a heartbeat. Back on topic - do you guys think Counsell has any pride to play for at this point? Or is he just going to coast into the playoffs. I’m OK with the latter, but man I want these Cardinals beat. Badly. He's going to try to win these games, but with the caveat that the main goal is keeping guys healthy, fresh, and setting up the rotation for the playoffs.

    I watched the Sound of Metal -- the story they tried to tell here felt super rushed. He goes from being fine to being almost entirely deaf in a few days, and the story just rushes along from there. I get it, it's a movie/fiction and they have to tell a story, but it just dropped me out of any sense of believability, and the music sucked. There's other things I didn't like in here, but that's a conversation for another place, I think. This film won awards, so it obviously worked for a lot of people, just not for me, I guess.

    I have the radio on, though I'm sort of mindlessly listening. I just heard someone go mmm..MMM! I'm assuming they're talking about either some sort of sausage or CEDAR CREST ICE CREAM! As much ice cream as they pretend to eat, they both oughta be on weight watchers.

    LA is the nl favorite as soon as they clear the wild card round. either by winning the division or winning the wc game.
