  1. For something like a Jeep you should be able to find some good Jeep enthusiast group forums out there. You will learn a lot of info about buying used and what problem areas to look for. The people is these groups can be quite helpful and some are even willing to inspect vehicles if you're interested in something not in your area. Usually these forums will have a For Sale section for parts and cars. This is usually where you find the good stuff because enthusiasts prefer to sell to other enthusiasts and they are typically more realistic with their asking prices. I just bought a BMW that I found on one of these sites. The seller didn't even advertise the car anywhere else. I paid a bit of a premium, but it is one of the best examples I would ever find of a 20 year old bimmer. I did a lot of research on the car and the seller by asking other BMW enthusiasts I knew and both had nothing but great reviews. Sunday I'll fly to Tampa to pick up the car and drive it back. As far as other routes to find a good used car, try to find private sellers on autotrader.com. Craigslist and ebay are shady but there are good finds out there once you weed through the crap and scams. The people on the forum groups are helpful in sorting that stuff out. Used car prices are going through the roof and it's getting more difficult to find a good deal on popular vehicles. My father has a dealers license and sells cars on the side to our customers who are looking for something specific. He only marks the vehicles up $500 but still struggles to find good vehicles within the price range of our customers. You may want to consider buying new if it's an option.
  2. I am praying that game 7 goes the Canucks way. I was a die hard fan back in 94 and they broke my heart. Gonna bust out my old Pavel Bure jersey tonight for some good luck vibes.
  3. I'd gladly trade the Bucks for an NHL franchise.
  4. Jim Rome had a hilarious take on Nyjer's post-game interview today. It's in the last 20 minutes or so of the show.
  5. Gomez can't even flip his bat without dropping it on his way to the dugout after a three pitch K.
  6. Gamel could have tanked those plays at 3B instead of McGEhEEEEEE.
  7. I know people who do a lot of buying/selling have memberships or subscriptions for Carfax. Anyone out there who has one? I'd rather not spend the $35 for what will probably be a useless report on a vehicle I'm interested in. I already know it's a creampuff but I just wanna cover all my bases before I fly to Florida and make an offer.
  8. Aqualung? I don't know. I'm not really down with Tull.
  9. The price of scrap metal is up these days but the price fluctuates frequently. I'd say a salvage yard would give you $200 minimum if you brought it there. You might be able to get another hundred or two possibly, but I doubt it considering a Jeep is pretty light and doesn't have as much metal as a normal SUV would. I manage an auto shop myself and we often will purchase vehicles that owners don't want to put money into. Usually we'll give a hundred or two more than what a salvage yard would pay out. We're able to fix that vehicle cheaper that what the customer would have to pay. Then we can turn around and sell it for profit or keep it or whatever. If it were me who was offering to purcahse the Jeep, I'd probably offer you around $400. You could pay to have it fixed and then try to sell it afterwards but some people don't want to go through the hassle. It's up to you. Hope this info helps you out.
  10. Gomes is the anti-Bill Hall.
  11. Endless7 let me know when you succeed in catching the Senna documentary. I'm dying to see it. It's available in Japan but I left there about two weeks before its release date. I could have a friend send me a copy but then I would have to buy a region free player.
  12. I gave my mother two tickets for tonights Brewer game. Does that make me a bad son?
  13. 39/30 caps are the equivalent of those AC Slater stone washed jeans with the big elastic waist. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I've been buying 59/50 hats since 1990. I don't remember their sizing ever being 100% consistent. Knowing your hat size only gets you in the ballpark. You may have to go a size up or down depending on the fit. It also depends on how much hair you have too. Unless you're sporting a wig, your hat size should be changing gradually. It's like trying on shoes. I'm not gonna boycott Puma just because I think my shoe size is a 10 but for some reason a 9 1/2 feels better in this instance. Any piece of clothing is like this. You can roll the dice and order something online, but you really should be trying it on before the purchase.
  14. Nice. I forgot that Nashville falls into the Central time zone, so I gain an hour there. I think I can make it in time if I just stop for gas, speed, pee in a bottle, and hopefully avoid traffic in Atlanta. Gonna order my ticket. It's only $12 lost if I don't make it in time. Can't wait to see the jewel that is Greer Stadium.
  15. I have to fly to Orlando tomorrow night to drive a vehicle back to Wisconsin. I'm wondering if I can make it to Greer Stadium in time to catch Grienke's rehab start with Nashville on friday. I'm hoping I can leave Orlando by 8:00 AM friday. Game time is 7:05. Think I can pull it off? Who's starting on Saturday?
  16. Could Royce Clayton replace Yuni-B?
  17. And you think there were questions about Del-Monte's defense before. How can you possibly put him in RF when he can't even catch a soft toss from Craig Counsell? He must not be seeing the ball too well right now.
  18. I want to boo all of these Booing threads but I don't want to offend anyone.
  19. My guess is that we shell Cliff Lee and then get swept by the Astros. It's just how the Brewers like to roll.
  20. Corey I have an old school Admirals jersey in blue that I have no use for. There's no Brewers logo on it though. It's the one with the anchors in the striping.
  21. I still have yet to catch the Brewers on TV. This is getting stupid.
  22. It's been a week into the season and I still have yet to watch the Brewers on television. These WMLW games are getting ridiculous.
  23. Dude. Get the Judgement Night soundtrack.
