  1. I've been to multiple grand prix races in my day. Montreal is a good choice but the crown jewel in Formula 1 is Monte Carlo. Another good choice would be Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium or Monza in Italy. The 24 Hours of Le Mans in France has gotta be a must. A WRC Rally race looks like a ton of fun to attend but I really don't know what the best ones are. The Indy 500 is about the only US race I'd include, but it's really lost it's glamor the past 15 years or so. Daytona 500, 24 Hours of Daytona & 12 hours of Sebring might make some consideration. Just some feedback from a motorsports fan.
  2. Maybe it's just the terrible day I've had, but throwing back to 1B three times when Braun was obviously in pain infuriates me. McCann needs to take one in the ribs. It's just too bad that McCann would be able to catch that ball from DD barehanded.
  3. The season isn't going as planned in Seattle after making such a big splash last winter. Lee's been gone for a month and looks like he won't sign an extension. Figgins is below the Mendoza Line. Bradley is out with personal issues. Add Griffey to the list. Griffey falls asleep in clubhouse during game. I don't think I would like to be Jack Z. about now. Curious to see what they do with Griffey.
  4. I swear I saw saw him hit 92 last night. He's been doing OK for a #4 guy. He went 5 last night with 1 ER. He'd have gone another inning or more if Prince hadn't dropped that ball with 2 outs.
  5. Gomez would have been sliding into 5th base by the time Hardy was safe at 3rd.
  6. It's not like we have a Halladay and Lee to trade away for these type of guys. You expect Melvin to "sell high" and trade Gallardo for some high velocity prospects.
  7. The Cardinals could have Joe Winklesas in their rotation and make him look like a Cy Young candidate. It doesn't matter what bum they throw on the mound in St. Louis because Duncan has some kind of magic pixie dust.
  8. Bush was a fairly young guy when he was acquired as well. He had less than 2 years MLB experience under his belt when we got him.
  9. His value is about as high as it will be. But it isn't gonna get us any of those flame throwing ace prospects that we covet. Hall and Hardy at their peak couldn't have gotten anyone either. Odds are that McGehee only fetches cheap soft tossers like Bush, Cappy & Jackson. Middle-Rotation potential only. If we want studs, we're gonna have to trade Prince. And I even question what we can get in return for him. Teams just don't part with their top pitching prospects anymore.
  10. He gave up 3 more in the bottom of the 4th. ERA is now 7.12.
  11. Sheets was on the DL in 2005 and twice in 2006. He missed the last month+ in 2007 due to injury. Sheets was on the DL twice in 2008. Sheets missed all of 2009 due to injury. Sheets in 2010 is pitching with a 5.00 ERA, 1.70 WHIP, 14 K, 14 BB. That's not including the 6 ER in 3 innings today. This is the guy we should have locked up? This thread would still exist if Sheets was on our roster.
  12. To be honest the 2006 NL Champion St. Louis Cardinals might disagree.
  13. It's not like Melvin hasn't acquired young high upside pitching in the past. After the Sexon deal it took De La Rosa five years and three organizations for De La Rosa to show results. Capuano didn't have a ton of velocity but he did make an all star game and became a serviceable middle of the rotation starter until he got hurt. In the Kolb deal, Capellan was a flame throwing starting prospect for the Braves. He didn't do very much in the bullpen in the couple years he was here. Now he's pitching in Korea. In the Overbay deal we picked up Bush and Zach Jackson. Bush has turned into a decent bottom of the rotation starter. Jackson was packaged in the Sabathia deal and is now up and down between AAA and the big club in Cleveland. We've had a few home grown prospects that flamed out when they made the big club. Hendrickson was awful. Eveland was bad too. But he is still in the big leagues starting for Toronto. Right now we have Parra who is the prototypical high upside guy like Morrow who people wanted us to trade for. Why don't we just see how Manny does instead of giving up some pieces to acquire the same kind of guy who has just as much a chance of failing as Parra.
  14. I didn't purchase my typical 9-Pack this year due to financial reasons. Looks like I made the right move. The way things are going, I have no desire to make it down to catch a game or two. Brewers better show some kind of pulse or I may find myself not making a game this year.
  15. Can we give McClung a call or is he mowing them down in Japan?
  16. OK. Now I am starting to get a little bit nervous about Trevor.
  17. Link Cincinnati must be printing up their playoff tickets with this move. They're gonna ride Morgan and Dusty to glory. Who needs Volquez?
  18. Craig Counsell is leading Prince Fielder in RBIs for the season so far. Brewers should get on a roll once Prince gets out of his funk.
  19. I thought I saw Weeks wince in pain during one swing in his last at bat. Looked the same as when he hurt his wrist last year. But he continued the at bat so I'm figuring it was just my imagination. I'm hoping that Macha is just giving the scrubs some playing time and there isn't any more to this.
  20. With Zaun and Kottaras both competing to be worse than Kendall was last year, I think the Brewers will be putting Lucroy on the fast track to the big leagues. If Jon shows he can handle AAA I'm guessing he gets called up in June. Which then Macha (if he's still the skipper by then) will give Zaunbie about 90% of the starts behind the dish and Lucroy will lose his mojo.
  21. Please be Suppan. Please be Suppan. Please be Suppan.
  22. The frequencies in Macha's head are not known to normals.
