  1. With Greinke's past emotional issues it makes me wonder if he'd really want to get traded into a pressure cooker city like NYC, Chicago or Boston. If I were him, I'd prefer to stay in a friendly midwestern town.
  2. After doing some research, $3,000 isn't that bad for a new transmission. Labor-wise, I'd charge you $750 labor if you have the V6. Maybe a little bit less for the four cylinder. It looks like good used transmissions are far and few between. And they cost a fortune. There's nothing out there for under a grand. Some of the salvage yards want over $2,000! Factor in the markup for parts, the shipping charges, Honda ATF, etc., it'd be hard to save you any significant money at all, let alone match that deal.
  3. The latest generation Subaru Foresters are quite big compared to earlier versions. Look into them before going after another SUV. It's a great vehicle.
  4. Any kind of snow tire will make your WRX amazing. I'd really recommend putting a set of snow tires on a separate set of wheels. It's much easier to deal with when it comes to the twice a year switch. Don't go any wider than what you have. If anything, try to get as narrow a wheel/tire combo you can. Take not of how skinny the tires are on a WRC car during a snow rally. I recommend using tirerack. The people there are very knowledgeable and will set you up with what you need. They carry almost every major brand. I've had Goodyear/Dunlop/Bridgestone/Michelin snow tires on my old RWD Volvo and AWD Audi. All functioned very well. Finland makes Nokian Hakkapeliitta tires and they are the crem della crem. They are a little bit hard to find but worth every penny. Enjoy the WRX. It's the worlds perfect winter vehicle. SUVs be damned.
  5. I think it is a little bit arguable that the turbo is part of the engine. Technically it is mounted outside of the motor. It is lubricated by oil but it's only connected to the engine in the similar kind of way that an exhaust would be connected. If they're willing to split the bill, I'd take it and not argue. What kind of car is it? I'm hoping that it isn't a Saab 9-5 or a Volkswagen with a 1.8 Turbo. I've seen a ton of bad ones with oil sludge and turbo problems.
  6. Spending $600 on a new radiator, thermostat & water pump only to have the head gasket blow two weeks before my track day.
  7. Just because we have a ton of money coming off of the books doesn't mean we should go back to spending foolishly.
  8. Someone swiped my Smoky Joe Grill during the 08 season. It was the one time I splurged for preferred parking.
  9. I avoided listening to the Flying Burrito Brother for nearly 20 years because I thought the name was awful. It's one of my biggest regrets in life.
  10. Elvis Costello - My Aim Is True This is the one that changed everything for me.
  11. Civic has a slight edge but you really can't go wrong with either car.
  12. OKC stadium is one of the best I've seen in the minors. The area surrounding the stadium is a great place to hang out with lots of things to do.
  13. Davey Nelson After hearing him in the booth, I know he has a wealth of knowledge to give to the team.
  14. Frank Kremblas was the guy I've wanted for years. He was there when our current core of players were developing in the minors and I'm pretty certain he won a title at AA or AAA. I just think he personality would fit in well in Milwaukee with the players and fans. Is it against the rules to talk to him now that he's managing for another organization now? Either way, there's probably some bridges burned between him and the Brewers.
  15. This is like that Adam Dunn trade rumor from a couple years back.
  16. Not only that, but Melvin should have lost his job because he didn't trade for this guy or similar young/cheap flamethrowers. The one thing baseball has taught me is that pitching is a complete crapshoot no matter how you acquire it. No one can prove otherwise to me. Because of this I cannot fault Melvin very much when it comes to pitching acquired or not acquired. It's a total roll of the dice and Dougie hasn't have very much luck on his side.
  17. Interesting. Prince is an Ontario man. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  18. Replace the Grey Goose with Koskenkorva and/or Tito's vodka. Grey Goose has been ruined by DBs. Eliminate the Bud Light.
  19. Whalers
  20. 5/100 Front Loaded 30, 25, 20, 15, 10 with a player option for year 6 at 17 mil. One can dream.
