  1. FSN Cardinals just said Hart is the 'unsung hero' of the Brewers... maybe last year, guys, but there's probably five players more deserving of that title on this year's Brewers.
  2. I had a brief moment of hilarious surprise when I read the title of this post and the first words that entered my brain were 'Cardinals-trade-Julio.' In fact, there was a millisecond in my mind where I thought they may have been idiotic enough to acquire Jorge Julio by choice. We can only wish...
  3. Sounded like Ueck thought that one was gone from Jones, bit of a sigh of relief after it came down.
  4. I really wish this game was televised... great DP from Coffey though, that's a big momentum swing.
  5. I'm also on the bandwagon for releasing all the names. I don't like how sticky the legal situation is, what with the results never supposed to be revealed, but there are several problems with using that as a reason to ignore the remaining players, from it being unfair to the players already outed if the rest of the positive tests are never released, plus the damage the trickle of released names is doing to the game. More importantly though, the main issue here is that the players were cheating, and they did their best to ensure that they would be able to continue cheating for as long as they could. If the players' argument asks to preserve honesty in the nondisclosure agreement as a reason for not divulging the remaining names, they look rather laughable pretending that they have the moral high ground after so arrogantly breaking the rules.
  6. Oh man....I am so ready....I lost that stupid lottery my freshman year, makes them all the sweeter since then....what's your vote, guys, Donovan or Evridge?
  7. And that, splitter, is what we call a burn.
  8. Thanks for the help guys, good stuff here.
  9. Hey, so I have a group of 10 tickets for the game on Saturday the 21st against the Giants, but all that was available was 'standing room only' tickets. I've never had those before, so I was looking for some advice on how to best utilize them. For example, where are the best viewing areas to stand? How early do people start claiming the standing room only seats? I imagine that it'll be a little more intense competition for places because of the potential significance of the game against SF, and any areas in home run territory will probably be extremely packed... Thanks much guys, I appreciate any advice that can be given.
  10. Nice...my first thought when I saw that was that it was like 'Chad Vader', except 'Larry Yount'... Poor Chad...
  11. It was terrace reserved seating, or $13 off a different seat, not a bad deal, I'll use them to upgrade for sure.
  12. If it helps at all, they do explain the history between the Autobots and the Decepiticons in the movie, and the robots do refer to themselves as members of those groups. It was pretty good in my book, lots of jokes, some were misses, but a lot were hits. LaBoeuf didn't annoy me as much as he has in other movies. I'm just praying he doesn't ruin Indy 4.
  13. Cappy's still ok in my book. He's been the beneficiary of excellent run support in years past, maybe we took it easy on him a little bit then. He'll be fine. I would only want a trade for Cappy if it was proposed to us, I don't think we need to dangle him out on the trading blocks at this point.
  14. Now that Braun's at .350 at the break...I really want to just settle in and enjoy the ride, the awards will figure themselves out.
  15. I'm planning on going to the Saturday game, but I really don't anticipate Bonds playing. All seats that are in home run territory are sold out though, I'm probably going for Terrace Reserved.
  16. The Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway is incredible. Short, but the descriptive language, plus the Christ allegory...unbelievable.
  17. City of Fairchild, 2004. Durkee County may not have had any state elected officials, but we won sports!
  18. A great day for competitive eating in America. Way to go Chestnut.
  19. This isn't quite the Declaration of Independence, but someone mentioned watching the Patriot today, and yesterday I watched another patriotic candidate...name the movie! "Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. "Mankind." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight!" We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!" [Crowd cheers] Gave me chills just writing that...
  20. All I can say in response to Sheets4CY is...true that. Russell Branyan could outhit the Hulk.
  21. Anyone up for guessing who the Derby participants will be? Here's my guesses of who will participate, not who I wish would...and I'm going to assume for now that non-all-stars can't participate, unless I'm corrected otherwise, but the biggest people that affects are Howard and Dunn: Prince Ortiz Morneau Pujols C. Lee Utley Griffey (please?) Alex Rios I felt like Soriano should've been there instead of Rios, but that would've been 6-2 NL, probably too much. The veterans Lee, Pujols, and Griffey could all presumably decline (Ortiz loves it, he'll do it again), but at least MLB isn't nearly as bad as the NBA dunk contest at convincing stars to participate.
  22. The winning record maybe helped a little too, for other team's fans who weren't sure who to put for a certain position, deciding just to go for the Brewers player on the list because they keep hearing how young and good the team is. Congrats to our boys! I've never been this excited to watch an all-star game!
  23. I know, I know, we're not in the playoffs yet, but this is just a marketing question...if we have a Friday home game in the playoffs, would the team wear the retro jerseys? My gut says no, they'd stick with the current logo through the playoffs, but I do feel it would be a smart marketing plan if nothing else, the logo and jerseys are popular, it'd probably help merch sales nationwide. Any comments, thoughts, or anyone who knows for sure if there's a plan yet?
  24. Haha, good call there with Hart. The bearded giant can do everything!
  25. Unless the Brewers sweep the Cubs, and Hart continues to rake the whole way, my money is on Soriano. Just because very few people know who Corey Hart is yet, and Soriano's an established star. Hart deserves the win though, he's been our catalyst lately.
