  1. I think it's time to switch Hardy and Hall.
  2. I'm giving Willie Randolph a lot of credit for Rickie Weeks. The first thing I thought of when they brought him aboard was, "that's going to help out Rickie a ton".
  3. I've always liked Cam. Could never understand why some people were so hard on him. He strikes out a lot. Well yeah, so did Gorman Thomas, but he was, and still is, one of the most popular Brewers of all time.
  4. I'd rather let Nelson work out his problems here, than have to watch TGJ ground out weakly to second. I think Nelson is just pressing a little bit. He'll be all right, still a better option than TGJ.
  5. Again, with the poor pitch selection by Houston to Corey. But I'll take it, again. I would throw nothing but low outside sliders to Corey. Until he proves he can not swing at 4 of them in a row. Because I don't think he will be able to.
  6. Does the ball still get over to Prince at first? Yes. Well, then I don't care if he was throwing it over there like a woman's softball pitcher. One thing it does do, is that runner coming from first is going to get out of the way, because he doesn't want to take a ball to the chops. So hopefully that means less guys trying to take him out on the turn, and less chance of injury for Rickie. I'm more concerned that he isn't walking this year. If could bring that up, to what it was last year, all the "Weeks Sucks" people could go away.
  7. I have no idea why anyone would throw Corey anything but that low outside slider/curve. Especially after they just saw him offer at one in the same AB. But I'll take it.
  8. Just bumping this up. Well we found 8 guys to start the league. We would like to expand to 12 teams in the next couple of years. I already have one on the waiting list. If anyone would be interested for the future, let me know. If you don't have the game or the season disk, that's not a problem.
  9. I would be surprised if anyone picked him up. What's the rule on that anyway? Does the team that picks up a player this way, have to put him on the big club, or can they send him down to AAA?
  10. Yeah, I'm a little mad about that right now as well. But just a little. It's not on local TV, why should it be blacked out??
  11. IF Dish Network doesn't have the MLB Channel, I would go with DirecTV. I like the MLB channel, been watching it alot. Especially the "30 teams in 30 days" show they have right now.
  12. Cool. I responded to a couple of people. Thumperden, let me know if you're interested. Oglivie, we probably won't start for a few months. Does that give you enough time?
  13. Do we have any APBA players here? We need a couple more guys/gals. We are starting an APBA Retro League using the computer DOS game. First season will be 1946. If you don't have the game, no problem, I can send it to you. If interested, let me know, and I can email you more details. -Jeff
  14. Do we have any APBA Football fans here? We have two openings in our league. We use the computer game, DOS v8.0 for our league. We will have current season disks. I'm working on them with another guy and they will eventually be posted on the official APBA Game Co. website. Anyone interested??
  15. You can also watch the game online here: www.horizonleaguenetwork.tv/ You will need to create a login, but it only takes a minute. Or listen to the Milwaukee broadcast at: http://www.newstalk1130.com/pages/streaming.html The snow stopped. Get your butts down to the Mecca, if you can!! (US Cellular Arena for those of you too young to remember what it's really called.) I'm outta here. Leaving work right now, picking up my Dad, and I'll be at Goolsby's for a fish fry before the big game. GO PANTHERS!!!
  16. "My apologies... that night I was at the bar with an MU shirt on and some UWM kid started yapping... I had a few drinks in me and was a little feisty still after that incident. " No harm done. Each school does have their "problem fans" who tend to take it bit too far. However it is starting to get better now that Crean is gone. He was quite the ******. I've even heard that from some people I know who are Marquette fans. GO PANTHERS!!!
  17. This game is on ESPNU like "trwi7" said. It's also on Time Warner Sports. By the way...Green Bay is ranked 18th, Milwaukee is 25th, in the current Mid-Major Top 25 poll as well. It's not the regular poll, but it's still some good recognition for our local program and our city.
  18. We are looking at an expected attendance of 5,000+ for this one. Come on down!! Join in on the fun!! Again, $10 for the cheapest ticket. I don't think you'll find a better sports entertainment value for your money anywhere at this time of year.
  19. This Friday night, January 9, 8pm, at the Mecca (US Cellular Arena). Come on out for some good college basketball between these two big in-state rivals who really don't like each other. The Milwaukee Panthers are 5-0 in conference sitting atop nationally ranked Butler, in the Horizon League Standings. They are playing fun, exciting, very good basketball again. Rob Jeter has brought in the best recruiting class in many years. Green Bay is 3-1, taking a tough loss Monday night to Loyola, otherwise this would be a battle for First Place. Cheapest ticket is $10, and it's nothing like a $10 seat in the Bradley Center to watch the Bucks stink it up. How can you beat that for a night of good college basketball? The game will also be on Time Warner Sports, and Nationally on ESPNU. If you can't make it down, turn on the TV and watch. Hope to see you down there!!
  20. I know I'm (I guess "we're" since most of the posts so far have been in favor of Weeks) in the minority with this, but like a few have already said, leading off and playing 2B. Leading off is probably not his ideal position in the order, he's probably more of a 2 or 3 hitter, but the Brewers don't have anyone else remotely close to a leadoff hitter. Some say he should bat 6th or 7th. I don't understand that at all. He's one of top walk guys on the team and will also take a pitch in the ribs. Why would you want that in front of your two worst hitters? I want my 6/7 hitter to be able to drive in a run from second, not put two guys on for the 8 hitter and the pitcher. If he could just raise his average to .250, he'll have a .360+ OBP. That would be perfect for this team. Also, I believe Willie Randolph being on the coaching staff this year is going to help him a lot.
  21. Although it looks like Villanueva might be able to do it, I think that would be a waste of his talents. He's a borderline starter. A guy that can give you 5 innings in a game if needed. Limiting him to one inning, would just leave a big hole in the long reliever/two-to-three inning set-up guy role. I like him in that role. Find someone else to close.
  22. I would still rather trade Fielder and Boras for that #1 or #2 starter they need. Move Hardy to 3b, Gamel over to 1b, and Escobar of course at SS. As Hardy gets older and looses a step, that's going to be his natural position change anyway.
  23. Well there was only about 25 of them left when I was there last Wednesday. Might be kind of hard to sell that low of a quantity online.
  24. I was born in Wisconsin. We cheer for just about all the state teams. Don't like NBA ball (can't wait for the Bucks to leave town), and I am a UWM alumnus, so I only cheer for the Panthers in college sports. So it's Brewers, Packers, and Panthers for me. I've also been a Steelers fan for 30 years now, since I was 7 years old.
  25. Hey "letsgored2003", we (my Dad and I) checked out the new seats last night, all looks good, so if you do keep your old seats, guess we'll be neighbors.
