  1. I would pick him up and throw him down in AAA. Why not.
  2. Someone should tell him he needs to have CCR playing for his walkup music.
  3. Just an FYI... The PC Replay baseball game v2.0 is coming out tomorrow. http://www.replaybb.com/PCBBPages/PCBBGame.htm This is not a game for the Playstation/MLB-The Show crowd. If you're looking for a good baseball sim game to test your managerial skills, check it out, this game is for you. It's an excellent game, but have to admit, I may be a little biased. I have been a beta tester and I run the only full 24-team league for the game. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif No, I don't get any kickbacks, just trying to spread the word about a good game and for some really great people.
  4. I don't know. I think adding the Wild Card was one of the best rule changes MLB has ever done. What they should do is start the season earlier and extend the Wild Card round to 7 games.
  5. Seeing that again, I don't care what anyone thinks, that was freaking awesome. And I would think the same thing if any team other than the Cubs or Cards did it. They are all just jealous they didn't think of it first.
  6. Agreed. Who wrote that? He has no business speculating on that at all.
  7. They did?!?!?! Oh man, I missed it. Did the Brewers do the bowling pin celebration in San Fran, in front of their fans? No they didn't, did they. That's lame. Some people need to get over themselves. Just for that, I hope they come up with an even better walk off HR celebration this year.
  8. Wow, that really is an excellent idea.
  9. There is! They used to serve a St. Louis dog at Great America years ago and it was a hot dog with BBQ sauce, shredded cheddar cheese and bacon bits. It ruled. Yeah, and you have to eat it with your nose up in the air and both pinky fingers out.
  10. Weeks just needs to start breathing thru his eyelids, then he would be the All-Star people thought he would become when he was drafted.
  11. "If it were my choice and I could get a MLB ready 2/3 SP, a quality RP both with little to no service time, and a decent cf prospect for Prince I think in the long run it helps the team." I have to agree with endaround here. No one is going to give them as much as that for Prince. If they do trade him, which I still think MA is going to find the money somewhere to pay him, a lot of fans are going to be upset (besides the fact he's a fan favorite) but more because they will be thinking "that's all we got for him?".
  12. All right Corey, the Brewers, but more importantly, my APBA team, and my Replay PC team, need you to get back to your 2007 form. Make the adjustment to counter what pitchers are doing to you. That's what separates good players from the average players. Get in the batting cage, learn how to recognize which outside sliders you can plunk into right field for a base hit, and which ones you need to lay off of. Do that, and there is the extra hit a week they talk about that separates a .250 hitter from a .300 hitter, and there is your big payday next year.
  13. Man if that's all it takes to write for ESPN, I'm applying today.
  14. If you're going to continue to think like this, than you're probably going to be extremely disappointed in Casey McGehee this year. Players routinely have great seasons followed by them coming back to earth when the rest of the league starts adjusting to them. There are plenty more other players who make adjustments on their own and are able sustain their level of productivity, or at least not drop off as badly as Hart has. Also, that is exactly the reason why the Brewers should stand their ground, take him to Arby court, and why I hope the Brewers win this one. I just have one final thing to say... If Hart could do just one thing at the plate, I think he would solve a lot of his own problems, and get the pay day he thinks he deserves. That is to stop swinging at the low outside slider. To me that's the adjustment pitchers have made on him and he hasn't been able to make his own adjustment to counter. I don't know why teams ever throw him a strike. I'd pitch him low and outside 'till he proves he can lay off it. Which he hasn't yet, and why I think his production has dropped off the past two years.
  15. "What do you people expect him to do? Go and sign a tender sheet for 750k and call it a day?" Umm, no. Take the 30% raise to $4.2 (something like that) the Brewers offered you, then call it a day. One good season, does not a career make, or a bigger pay raise justify. String a few of those together and he will get paid like he thinks he should. If Corey had signed the big contract after 2007 instead of turning it down, we would have just as many, probably more people, complaining here that the Brewers signed yet another player to a bad contract.
  16. "He had a fantastic year in 2007, and instead of appreciating that & just how hard it is to consistently be a good hitter in MLB, people are getting all over Hart for not fulfilling their own relatively unrealistic expectations of him." So because he had a good 2007, he just gets a pass from now on?? What? A 25-year old player puts up a .892 OPS and you're not supposed to expect him to get up near that level ever again in his career? You're just supposed to sit back and accept a .150 point drop? I'm sure the Brewers organization doesn't think that way. I hope they don't anyway. Players usually get better and hit their peak in the 27 to 29 year old seasons, not regress. No one would be talking about him if he took the decent raise the Brewers were willing to give him. Fans are upset with him, especially these days, because based upon what he's done in the two years since, he has been very average at best, but for some reason thinks he deserves a bigger raise. Corey, find your 2007 form again and you will get paid. If he doesn't the Brewers try to trade him for a #5 starter or a AAA prospect and more Gamel to the OF.
  17. "The Brewers filed for $4.15 million in arbitration, with Hart requesting $4.8 million. That would make the midpoint $4.475 million. Last year, Hart made $3.25 million." Hell, I think $4.15 is too much. He's a below average RFer on defense and average at best at the plate. Wish I could get a 30% raise for being an average worker.
  18. Corey lost weight? Where did he loose it from? His brain? The guy didn't have much weight on him to begin with. Get a new agent, tell him to take what the Brewers are offering, and be glad you have a job. Go out and work your butt off in 2010 and get back to the .900+ OPS player you were, or Gamel is going to take your job. Oh yeah, one other thing...STOP SWINGING AT THE LOW OUTSIDE SLIDER!!!
  19. Corey Hart cannot play CF. I would not want to see him there for any significant length of time. I sat in RF for about 25 games in 2008. He does not read the ball coming off the bat very well, and does not get a good jump on the ball. Just because a guy is fast does not mean he can play CF. Remember he spent most of his minor league career at 1B/3B. Didn't play OF 'till he got to AAA.
  20. I've used the shuttles before. I don't drink, so I use them for the convenience factor. The "problem" is not caused by the shuttles. It's caused by the other drunk idiots not riding shuttles, not paying attention to what's going on, walking in front of them, stumbling thru the turnaround area expecting the shuttles to stop for them. If people could use just a little common sense, there would not be this "problem". But common sense is quickly becoming a lost art everywhere. Direct your other customers not to walk thru the turnaround area and there is no problem here.
  21. $9k from places who are bringing in paying customers to their place. I think it's petty by the Brewers. $9k is what, one inning of Suppan? An AB from Prince. Yes, $300 is not much for these bars who will just end up charging a dollar more from us for a ride down there. But it means even less to the Brewers.
  22. http://www.jsonline.com/business/82655217.html What do you think? $300 per business. About 30 bars have a shuttle. That's $9,000. So that $9k is really going to help the bottom line that much? If anything they should be giving kickbacks to bars for taking fans to the game. Offering to pay these bars gas money for taking fans to the games, free tickets, something, not charging them for bringing in customers. This just doesn't make any sense at all.
  23. Ned Yost was also partially to blame for that. Sabathia was often left in games (with very high pitch counts) that were already well in hand, for things like complete games or just because. So what. There was no way Sabathia was coming back to the Brewers. Use him/abuse him/run him into the ground, whatever you need to do to get into the playoffs now. I would have done the same thing. Plus if a 6'7" 300+ pound man tells me he's fine and he's staying in the game, then he's staying in the game. Ride that horse. And don't tell me CC wore down in the playoffs. Cam catches that ball like he normally does 95 out of 100 times, and CC wins Game 1 for the Crew.
  24. Humm, maybe this guy got his story mixed up. A Brewers move to Orlando for Spring Training would be cool. (I love Disney World.)
  25. "It'll be interesting to see what Holliday does in a full season in St. Louis" He has a career .370 average in Busch.
