  1. No, the $25 shipping and handling is added separately.
  2. Don't worry about it kegstand. I kind of forgot as well. Too much going on at the time. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. I don't remember reading that way in the materials they sent out. Maybe I just missed it. That's cool thou. Thanks. One other thing... Are we going to get credited back what we paid for the tickets or for the printed value on the tickets? I'm sure it's what we paid for them. I don't know about you guys, but I paid $5 more per ticket, than what the printed price on the tickets showed. Anyone know why? Something to watch for, I guess.
  4. I have not been charged for the World Series tickets yet. This was supposed to happen by October 1st, per the invoice. Has anyone seen this charged to their card yet?
  5. I don't know man, the more I hear about Attanasio wanting Suppan, then possibly pressuring DM to get Gagne, then again possibly pressuring him to fire Yost. I'm starting to get the feeling we might have a very "hands-on" owner these days. Which is not always the best thing. 'Course he was also the one to give the okay to go out and get Sabathia. He was the one to tell DM, to go out and get whatever it takes to win this year. So it hasn't been all bad. QUESTION: Are the moderators on vacation? Why do we have two threads discussing who will be their next manager?
  6. I'd also like to point out...it's a lot easier to manage a pitching staff when you have 12+ guys in the bullpen to use, and they all know they are in an "all hands on deck" mentality. Those 5 to 6 extra arms you get in September, can make a huge difference in making pitching decisions. And when you're not really worried about tomorrow, that helps a little bit as well. It's really not fair to judge Sveum one way or the other, since he was managing under a different set of rules than you have from April thru August. - I would like to see them bring in someone with no ties to any former Brewer tream. - I hope DM, doesn't leave or get fired. He's done a great job. Perfect? No, of course not, that's impossible, no GM is going to be.
  7. "I would not be a bit surprised if the individuals on the team from your area were sexually attracted to members of their own gender. That is how ineffective they are on the field of battle." "...let us compare the respective facilities in which our teams play. While my team's edifice is blessed with architectural splendor and the most modern of amenities, yours is a thoroughly unpleasant place in which to watch a sporting contest. I know of what I speak, for I once attended a game between our respective teams in your facility. Let's just say the experience left me wishing that my car was inoperable that day due to mechanical problems, rendering it impossible for me to get to your area to attend the game. 8. The sports team from my area won a playoff game. How did the sports team from your area do? Oh yeah, that's right.
  9. Well Soupp, this is exactly the game you were brought here to win. Keep the team in the ball game today, get yourself a win, and we will forgive all your "down" moments since you've been here. GO CREW!!!
  10. Rickie, we all hope, improves, but maybe what he is is simply what he showed throughout his career: a .245 hitter who will hit 15 HR, steal 25 bases and get on at a .350 clip. Even with his bad defense, there are worse things we could have. Those numbers would put Rickie above average for a lead off hitter. Plus I think it is reasonable to assume, he can improve on those career numbers, since he is going into the so-called "prime years" of an athletes career. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, if Rickie is starting at 2B and leading off, next year for the Crew.
  11. 1. Fire Skaalen. The plate discipline has steadily gotten worse and some of the blame belongs with the hitting coach. I know it's up to the player to perform, but a young team needs good coaching to help them adjust as the season goes on, and the hitters did not. They fired Wynegar and that didn't really do much. I think most hitting coaches are a joke to be quite honest. IMO, once a player gets to the Majors, the hitting coach is little more than a psychologist.
  12. If TGJ sees any significant playing time on this team next year, they are in a world of trouble.
  13. I posted this somewhere already, but maybe Hart just wore down this year? He's never played 150 games in a season before. Can we hope that's what the problem was? And now that he's got a full season under his belt, he'll know what to expect next year? Yeah, I'm probably just grasping at straws now. I don't know...
  14. Oh, he's definitely miscast. I don't think there is any doubt there. He's the leadoff hitter on this team by default. Unless they don't pick up the option on Cameron, and can find a true leadoff hitter who can play CF, Weeks will probably be asked to do it again. And I really don't think Weeks will regress next year, so I guess I'm trying to say, they'll probably be all right if Weeks does have to leadoff. Not the most ideal situation, but certainly not the worst or even in the bottom half of the NL.
  15. Yeah the .342 is the league average. So if Weeks could just get back up to his career average, and hopefully slightly improve that, they would be fine with him there. Weeks was not the problem in September, I think anyone who can read stats can agree to that.
  16. You know I was just checking out the team stats for the #1 spot... National League Splits for the #1 spot in the order An OBP of .355 is pretty good, actually. Weeks career OBP is .352. If he could just do that or maybe a little better next year, they would be fine with him leading off.
  17. No, it wasn't. And it won't be next year, when they sign him to a one year deal for $12mm to $15mm.
  18. Someone tried to tell me last night that Tony Gwynn Jr is their answer in CF and as the high-OBP leadoff hitter they need. I don't think so. I don't have much more to add that hasn't already been said. 1) Find a high OBP leadoff guy. You don't need him batting .300, if he takes his walks and can get that OBP 100 points higher than his BA. A .360 OBP would be just fine. 2) Hope the kids continue to improve. 3) Pound it in their heads that they need to take more pitches, a walk is not a bad thing, but I don't know how you do that and still keep them aggressive. 4) Fix Corey Hart. He has the potential to hit .300 with 25 HRs and 25 SBs, if he would just figure out how to be more selective. Who knows, maybe he just tired down the stretch. After all, he's never played 150 games in a season. 5) I'd move Hardy to 3B, ONLY IF Escobar is ready to play SS. That would be a huge defensive improvement, and probably not that much of a loss on offense if Escobar can hit at least .250. If not, are there any 3B out there who can leadoff?? No, of course not. 6) Durham can't play everyday. We saw what happened late in the season when he tried to. But a soft platoon with Weeks, would benefit both of them. Start Durham twice a week.
  19. The fact Sveum left Sabathia in after the grand slam lowered the odds even more as I don't expect him to bounce back much before that game 5 if it is to happen. Why? He'll have a full four days rest, if it does go 5 games.
  20. Do you guys think that the coaching staff actually knows how bad Hart has really been? I'm positive they do. I'm also sure they've been doing everything possible to help him get out of this funk. But you can only help a guy so much in practice. If he can't carry that over into the game...
  21. I just refuse to wear any "Wild Card Champs" apparel, and tell anyone I see, not to wear it yet either.
  22. I would really like to see Counsell up there in the 2 spot. You know he's going to work the count and probably draw a walk or two. I'd want those walks coming in front of Braun/Fielder, rather than Kendall/Sabathia.
  23. This is the lineup I would go with today: Durham Counsell Braun Fielder Hardy Cameron Kendall Sabathia Hart
  24. Mark that down as One against the defense. They should not have scored that inning.
