  1. I don't have HD. Probably won't for a few more years. My signal strength is in the 90s, and I don't have any trees blocking my signal. My regular "poor-man's" picture will go out in a minor rain shower. MJL, thanks for the help. If anyone else has any suggestions about what you did to fix the picture problem in minor rain showers, I'd love to hear them. The problems I've had with customer service...I call and get told one thing by them, then I can call back a few weeks later and get a different answer. "I don't know why that other customer service rep told you that, but that's not the case. So here's what you have to do." I've gotten that at least three times. Once is too many in my book.
  2. My signal has very rarely ever gone out, I am talking 1 or 2x a year for like 10 minutes. It all has to do with the aiming of the dish and the signal strength to begin with which can be affected by a nearby tree. Storms or rain fade rarely have any impact on my signal in either house I have had it at. MJLiverock, when you get a chance, let me know what kind of signal strength you are getting, and where your dish is pointed. Send me a PM or something. I would really like to figure out why my picture goes out with just a little bit of rain. I don't have any trees blocking anything. The FSN-WI full time will be coming in the next year Where have you heard this? All I ever get is the same bullcrap answers. I have received three different reasons why we don't get it.
  3. The only NFL I watch is Packer games. And I don't really care about the Big 10 network. To each his own I guess.
  4. Yep, it is now Ch. 669. But they still do not give it to Wisconsin people full time and have no plans to do it anytime soon. I've had DirecTV for three years now. I'm sick of it. I'm in the process of switching back to cable. A little bit of rain and my picture goes out, no FSN-WI full time, don't offer all the HBO channels, and they have the worst customer service I have ever delt with. The only thing that has kept me with them this long, is that I got in when they still offered TiVo. I love my TiVo. Anyone thinking of getting DirecTV, I would urge you to look elsewhere.
  5. Ah, that explains part of it. 2004 was my divorce year.
  6. I have no idea who Bobby Crosby is/was. How long ago was that?
  7. If it was broken ribs, when would he have broken them? Certainly not swinging the bat. I don't think it's anything more than strained muscles, or whatever they are calling it. Based upon nothing at all, I expect him back at least by the Dodgers series.
  8. All right, so who has some fun stats from this series? ERA was 1.125. (5 ER - 40 IP) Take out Gagne's one inning and it falls to 0.46. (2 ER - 39 IP) Amazing. Yes, it was only a depleted Washington team, but that's still amazing.
  9. FYI... Brewers and Cubs do not play the D-backs anymore this season. Cards have them 7 (4 home/3 away) more times. Each team has the Reds for 6 (3/3) yet this season. I was just curious.
  10. Yeah, I'm surprised the Dodgers let this one go thru as well. That was the first thing that came to mind. Here is what you are missing -- Dunn hits the waiver wire with just about every other player in baseball -- LA does not have any knowledge of where Dunn (or any other player for that matter) is heading. For all LA knew, Dunn could have been traded to the D-Rays or Yankees, in which case they would want no part of claiming Dunn. Well yes, but I have to believe there is SOME way, thru the grape vine for teams to find out where players are going.
  11. Oh well. Seemed like the ump just wanted to get that inning over with, and Rickie was unfortunately the one at the plate at the time. Lock this one down bullpen. Complete the sweep!! EDIT: Maybe not. Gameday shows that second pitch above the belt, but that is supposed to be called a strike anyway.
  12. Well, still set up for the Grand Slam...
  13. Hey, let's get a little greedy right here... How about a Grand Slam Billy? What do ya' say??
  14. Nice job Bush!!! Way to get yourself out of that one, buddy!!!
  15. RICKIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. For those wondering Brewers Squeeze Play will be on at 7 tonight, 1:30 tonight, 6:30 tomorrow morning and at noon tomorrow. Yeah, thanks Direct-suck-TV, for continuing to tell me that besides live sporting events, FSN-WI is no different than FSN-North.
  17. Well then, here's to hoping we are seeing the return of the "August/September 2007 - Rickie Weeks"!!!
  18. I think I'm helped out by my Dad. He knows A LOT about baseball, but lets himself get waaaay too worked up about it, and really, all sports for that matter. So I'm the one who tries to keep the level head and calm him down most times. At the end of the day, it's still just a kids game, played by overpaid adults.
  19. Weeks has put up a line of .284/.395/.433/.828 since the all star break so I'm still confused as to why people complain when he is starting at this point. They can't get past what he did (or should I say wasn't doing) to start the season.
  20. I have to think this Counsell deal is due to defense. That's all I can figure. And batting him 6th or 7th, what does it really matter. Cameron seems to be comfortable in the 7 spot, so might as well leave him there. And Weeks, well he's been pretty decent since the break, (62 ABs, .290 / .400 / .852).
  21. I'd just like to see them bring up a catcher or two, so Rivera can be used as a pinch-hitter.
  22. A significant portion of the Brewers' fanbase just do not have realistic expecations from game to game. Heck rluzinski, some don't have realistic expectations from AB-to-AB, pitch-to-pitch even. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. Our backup catcher Mike Rivera is pretty good, hope he plays more so that Kendall is not overworked. I'll give you that he's been a good offensive player. I doubt he could keep up this type of production if he had to start for a long period of time. I hope they bring up a catcher or two in September so they can PH him a few times.
  24. As far as the IGT's go, yeah, I'm very disappointed that they've become mini-venting threads. I think there are a few people who only come in to complain, and rarely praise anything, as if winning happened purely by luck... It is too bad that those people can tend to dominate the conversation though. I'm almost to the point of not posting in the IGT's. Sometimes it's just way too negative and/or sarcastic for me, and this is before the game has even started.
  25. I'd like to think my buying tickets to games, when that money should be going somewhere else in my life, IS my donation to the Brewers payroll.
