  1. Uke with a Monty Python reference. Excellent.
  2. And the Brewer machine keeps right on rolling up in the Mountains. Feed that engine.
  3. CF Gabe Kapler Interesting. BTW: Powell is talking to Lawrie right now.
  4. I'll say there's 16 total runs tonight. I'll go for a "Sheet-out". 15-1 sounds good to me.
  5. What a disgusting ninth inning last night. Kemp 2-0 count with the bases loaded down one and swings at the next pitch which is shoulder high, setting him up for the nice game ending K. Not to mention the three pitches before that were all balls. Five straight balls and you swing at the next pitch? Stupid. Make him throw a strike. My sweep prediction didn't last long did it. (Didn't really expect it to happen anyway.) Oh well, what are ya gonna do. Go get 'em tonight. What teams on that list are you actually scared of right now? I really don't expect St. Louis or Florida to end up that many games over .500. Besides the Division leaders, maybe only Atlanta, New York, and Houston? I'd even expect Houston to fall some more when Berkman comes back down to earth.
  6. I like to read those blogs when I need a little laugh. Some of what those "fans" write is pretty hilarious. Hunt has become almost unreadable. You had a slight error in your statement. Hope you didn't mind that I fixed it for you. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. I think they will resign him if they are serious about making the playoffs right now. But I expect it's going to take something in the 4 yr/$65M or 5 yr/$80M range. The players association will not let him take a "home town discount". Then the Brewers will have to cross their fingers and toes that he can average 30 starts over those 4 or 5 years. and why is everyone trying to dump suppan? we can't replace him in house and any other decent free agent is going to cost the same amount...suppan is helthy every year...i like him.. I like him too, but he's due to make almost #1 starter type money the next two years. When with a healthy staff, he's only the 4th best starter.
  8. A 1 in 128 chance of not having to wait long? Thrilling! LOL!!!
  9. That's what I like to hear!! GO CREW!!!
  10. "The only things that could hold him back are some questions about his competitiveness on the mound and a commitment to Louisville." I don't like the sound of that with this Odorizzi kid.
  11. This is probably a novice question but I have to admit I'm a novice when it comes to the MLB draft. Anyway, of these 6 high picks, what would be a reasonable expectation for how many of them actually reach the Majors?
  12. I could maybe see it cost them $5M per player that reaches the Majors. That would be $5M over the course of his entire Minor League career.
  13. $5M/yr per player? No way that can be right. That would be roughly $600M to $700M per year.
  14. but his dad really wanted him to go to school. Can't fault that either. He's only a Junior thou, hope he gets his degree.
  15. Yeah, I know only what I've seen in mock drafts, so that's not much. But isn't that a pretty big surprise at 12?
  16. Why can't he be to the Crew what Dempster has been to the cubs? Time will tell.
  17. So, when Chicago plays the Phillies, Dodgers, Braves or Cards, root, root, roooot for the Cubbbbiessss. They've got 7 games against the Dodgers and Braves coming up, so you won't have to wait long! Sorry man, but nope. A Dodger sweep, and a Crew sweep, would mean 2.5 games out of first. So you may not have to wait long to come back over from the dark side and stop rooting for the cubs against those select teams. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. Isn't Colorado missing three or four starters right now thou? Gotta take advantage of that. Good teams do.
  19. Keep the brooms out. Crew takes all three in the mountains. They go down to Houston and take 2 of 3. Come back home 4.5 games out of first.
  20. Maddux looking good. Still wouldn't mind seeing him in a Brewer uniform.
  21. Until the Brewers can close the gap to around 4 games (and there's at least a reasonable chance of that happening), if the Cubs are playing the Cardinals or any other team ahead of the Brewers in the wild card race, I'll be rooting for Soriano and Zambrano to shut em' down!!! Wait a second, when it get's down to 4 games, you're going to start rooting for a Brewers Division title, but 'till that time you're pulling for the cubs to beat anyone that is ahead of the Crew in the Wild Card standings. But if the cubs lose, that would help the Crew get that number down to 4 quicker. So wouldn't it just be easier to root against the cubs from the start? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Plus what are you going to do it they get it down to 3, then maybe it goes back up to 5? Man your head's going to be spinning trying to keep track of who you're supposed to be rooting for. Nah, I say just root against the cubs from the start. It's more fun anyway. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. What's really pathetic is if they didn't have those 4-run and 5-run innings, it would be tied right now, they would have wasted a good SP performance, and they'd still be playing.
  23. 3 K's to end the inning. How's that for "settling down". http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  24. 7 tonight on FSN. Except if you have DirecTV.
  25. Ya' had to know it was only a matter of time before the offense picked it up. I always thought once the hitting came around, that gives your pitchers some breathing room, and they would be able to relax and pitch well. Didn't think they'd pitch this well thou. I was calling for his head. And I'm still not sure if he is the man for this team. But if they keep winning Ned can stay. Hard to complain when the team goes on a roll like this. Yost may still not be the one to get this team to the Championship, who knows. All I know is the players like him, probably because they know he's got their back (99% of the time at least) almost to a fault sometimes, which frustrates the media and fans. But that's a manager I'd play hard for and I believe so are these guys. If you know your manager is going to fight for you, you'll fight for him.
