If you're not doing anything this weekend, come on down to the Mecca. Very nice priced tickets for DI tournament basketball. Friday Night (tonight): 5:00pm Cleveland State vs Wright State 7:30pm Valparasio vs Detroit Cleveland State has a PG that is going to be drafted. Norris Cole. Great player. I guess Marquette could have used a good PG this year. He would have put them in the Top 25, no doubt. A tough, physical, team. Wright State has a top level tallent in Vaughn Duggins. Detroit has a freshman, Ray McCallum, who was recruited by UCLA and Arizona, but chose to stay home and play for his Dad. They are also a tough, physical team, but their coach sucks. They should be better than they are. I still would rather not face them Saturday night as they always play well here. Valpo is solid all around, but not playing very well right now. They had the 1 seed two weeks ago, but then proceeded to loose 3 of their final 4 regular season league games to drop to the 4 seed. Saturday Night: 5:00pm Butler vs (Cleveland State or Wright State) 7:30pm Milwaukee vs (Valparasio or Detroit) ESPNU Tuesday Night: (hopefully) 8:00pm Milwaukee vs Butler ESPN

Yeah that was cool. You can see a couple of the kids with a smerk on their face just before they jump him. And Jeter jumping around with them.

Little bit closer than I would have liked, but, a win is a win, and I'll take it. The path to the NCAA Tournament runs thru the Mecca once again!!! Hope to see you all down there Saturday night. First game will be at 5pm, which will be Butler. Our game will be right after that. If you can't make it down there, the game will be on ESPNU. Go Panthers!!!
-
We'll even take you Marquette fans right now. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif You know, us winning only helps your NCAA tournament resume.
-
We need to win on Saturday at Youngtown State and the Horizon League Tournament is once again in that great old building The Mecca. (It will always be The Mecca to me.) The site of the only Milwaukee basketball championship. I know we have a lot of fair weather fans who only come out when we win. That's cool, we'll take all the fans we can get. Jump back on board for the ride. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Would you want/support an MLS team in Milwaukee?
jhart05 replied to paul253's topic in Off-Topic Forum
Sorry but no. And I don't think soccer would do very well here. Wisconsin is a football state. If UWM ever got a football team, I think you would see more support for them, than a MLS team. -
Hill, Williams, and Ryan Allen will be on the floor. They all practiced this week. No way would Hill miss the biggest game (so far) of his college career. Everyone is banged up this time of year, just have to suck it up and play.
-
Yeah, you don't like to see someone get hurt, but I tend to reserve that for high school and college athletes. I just can't feel bad at all. It is the Cardinals after all, the guy will still get paid for this year, and especially after what we just went thru with the Packers. Sorry if that makes me sound... cold.
-
Yes, but that will be a much easier game. Not worried about that one. Have to win at Cleveland first.
-
We've also won our last 7 conference games, including one at Butler. I can tell you from talking to some Butler fans on message boards and such... they do not want to face us in the conference tournament.
-
Great college hoops coming up this week... If you are not doing anything Thursday night, the Milwaukee Panthers have their biggest game in the past 5 years. at Cleveland State 6pm Time Warner Sports Ch 32 Win, and the Panthers are Horizon League Champs, get to host the tournament, and a trip to the Big Dance runs thru the Mecca. Cleveland State is currently in 1st Place alone. They win and they are Champs. Going to be a great game, don't miss it.

Why the Brewers will win the World Series
jhart05 replied to Bombers's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
"As I am sick of listening to the radio and hearing someone yell about all the things the Brewers are doing wrong (i.e. "Their farm system stinks" and "little league short stops play a better short than Yuniesky Betancourt", yada yada yada ... " Here-here!!! I'm right there with ya' man. How bad could the farm system be? Most of the starting lineup will be from their farm system and it just got them two top of the line starting pitchers. I don't care what it looks like now. I'm tired of hearing wait 5 years for such-and-such group of players to get to the big club. I'm sick of watching mediocre to bad baseball. I'm glad they finally made some bold moves to get my team back to the playoffs. I like hearing the talking heads talk about my team as one of better teams in baseball right now. This is going to be an exciting summer and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it. Anyone wants to complain about their farm system, complain to someone else. GO CREW!!! PLAYOFFS IN 2011!!! -
I really don't care what their minor league system looks like right now. I'm going to be 40 years old this year, my Dad isn't getting any younger either. We're sick of watching loosing baseball for most of our lives. (Course he was lucky enough to be able to see the 50's Braves.) What are we supposed to do, sit back and wait another 5 years for another group like Fielder, Weeks, Braun, Hart, Escobar, Cain, etc... to come along.? Forget that noise. We support both these trades for top of the line starting pitching. It's about time the Brewers made these kinds of moves instead of sitting back and watching other teams make them, then go to the playoffs ahead of our team. GO CREW!!! PLAYOFFS IN 2011!!!
-
Agreed. The truth is, no one really knows how good a system is 'till those players reach the majors. Or if by trading away your so-called "top" prospects you can reach the playoffs and win a couple series when you get there.
-
I don't think there are too many teams in the majors that do not have concerns about their pen.

What are some projections for the Cubs this year?
jhart05 replied to BREWCREW5's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I really do not see the Cubs as a threat to the Brewers at all. Do yourself a favor, ignore what happens to the south of us, including their fans, and just appreciate what is going to happen in Milwaukee this summer. As we all know, these kinds of seasons do not happen very often, take in every moment of it, and don't let those to the south ruin it for you. -
"I don't think 9 packs are on sale yet anyway." I don't know if I should say this or not, but when I ordered my 20-game pack, I asked about 9-game ones. They would have sold me one, if I wanted. They do have them ready, just has not been advertised yet. I assume when the 20-game pack sales die down after the Greinke excitement, they will start advertising them.
-
We did not get tickets last year. We did get a 20-game pack this year, last Thursday. Big Christmas present for my Dad and I.

"Former Cedarburg standout Chip Rank is a freshman on Northern Iowa." Another good reason to come on down to the Mecca tomorrow night. Milwaukee has a pretty good state freshman of our own. Kyle Kelm from Randolph. Bo Ryan is going to be kicking himself that he dropped out of the running for this kid after he broke his foot as a sophomore (I think, maybe as a junior). He is exactly what Bo likes. Tall, white, good passer, good basketball knowledge, and can shoot the 3. This is the best team we've had since the Sweet 16 year, but it's a much better league than it was back then. We will be in the mix to win conference. Butler is not quite as good as last year. Detroit, if they stay healthy, could win the conference.
-
They can play in exhibition games, but not regular season games. Maybe that's what you're thinking about?
-
Hey if you're not busy Saturday night, come on down to the Mecca (US Cellular Arena). Milwaukee Panthers host Northern Iowa, a Sweet 16 team from last year. 7pm. $10 gets you in the building. Should be a very good game. Come support your home town team. It will also be on Time Warner Sports Channel 32, if you can't make it down.
-
The Pirates have only had one as well. Any guesses as to who that was? Doug Drabek. (I was also a Pirates fan back then. They were my NL team.) Wait, I just looked as well. That was in 1990. Not within the 17 year window.

2010 First Year Players - Pick 3 to Keep
jhart05 replied to jhart05's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I should stated that better, sorry. I'm talking First Year Players, those who made their debut in 2010, regardless if they can still technically be considered a rookie in future years. So Escobar and Axford would not count in this discussion. (Edited the initial post.)
