  1. Scott Sunitsch with a good outing for Carolina, too: 5 IP, 8 K, 1 H Ashby gets the hype, but I think Sunitsch will be just as good.
  2. I'd go no more than $5 million AAV on a deal and three years at most (maybe a team option or two). I also want to be able to bring Gio back as well to keep the depth going (arguably on a 3/$10.5 or 2/$8 deal).
  3. IF the Crew can get him for 3/$13.5 million or 2/$10 million, they should. At worst, Lyles is a swing man on the staff - and if he pitches like he has with Milwaukee (both stints), he will be a very valuable member of the staff in 2020-2021.
  4. At some point, I think you do need to try to figure out if Lyles has put it together. Much, I think depends on the AAV. The right deal (say, three years, $13.5 million or two years, $10 million) could be large enough to give him that sense of security to stick around, but small enough that regression wouldn't be a killer. At the very least, Lyles is a swing arm, and a good one at that.
  5. Wouldn't Roegner be Rule 5 eligible this offseason? He's the type of advanced age high floor arm I could see a team grabbing. There is no way the Brewers protect him. But would the injury this year scare teams off? Roegner's final numbers aren't 2018-esque... He is someone who SHOULD be protected, IMO.
  6. Roegner with a gem, too... making a case to head back up my Top 25 ballot.
  7. The commitment to Grisham as 4th OF is a good sign, IMO.
  8. It did make sense to me as well. Gamel with an option year left makes things interesting...

  11. He's not a late bloomer because it's not late. He was drafted last year and is in his first year of full-season ball. That is not the definition of a late bloomer. He on the typical path of a pitcher drafted as a senior in college. And looking like a huge steal based on this year... Biloxi could tell the tale, but signs look very good.
  12. Doubly so since Lyles got a hit... Still, Crew up 6-0, Lyles with a no-no through five... If this is the biggest complaint, we are having a good day.
  13. He's always had a live arm. It's always been about finding and maintaining consistency with him. He's been a pleasant surprise since coming over. He should get a chance to compete for a rotation spot - but I could see him as a right-handed version of 2018 Hader if the rotation shakes out a little differently...
