    I'm highly unimpressed with The Rave's calendar until October when I would like to see Black Label Society and would love to go see Slayer/Megadeth/Anthrax on Oct. 16. There's a chance I may start going to Rave shows again since I will be moving to the Milwaukee area in a few weeks. Those late night drives back to Madison after a show can really wear you down.

    I'm not familiar with Pierce's and have never set foot in a WalMart. I've been a Woodman's guy forever...stop by and stock up!

    I took a walk down the BBQ sauce aisle tonight to check on the Stubb's. In stock were: smokey mesquite, honey pecan, hickory bourbon, mild, spicy and original. All were priced at $3.49 w/ 55 cent coupons attached bringing it down to under $3. In addition, there are a few varieties of marinade and 5 varieties of spice rubs.

    This is why I love the automated postal center at the Struck Street location. If you are prepared (packed, taped, labeled) all you have to do is drop it on the scale and enter the zip code to make payment and get your postage. No waiting in lines because everyone is afraid to do it themselves. Seriously, no one is ever using this system when I am in there.

    Is there any truth to the theory that a breeze or wind keeps mosquitoes away? We were having skeeter issues, so I put a fan on the deck and that seemed to work. Just lucky?

    I guess "effectively wild" worked out for Jackson tonight. However, this could be a case of being wild (jacked up to face an ex-team) early and calming down after a first run through the order. I think 70 of his pitches came in the first 3 innings as he walked 7 of his 8 in that time frame.

    Well, to be fair, Z only gave up four runs. In one inning, that's a fair comparison to Suppan.

    While they are becoming a lot more common, I am still impressed by anyone that can shut down MLB hitters for an entire game. Sure, he walked a ton, but no hits still amaze me.

    As I just typed in the in-game thread, I started watching this game in the 7th inning. It's also not too often you hear announcers speculating that the manager has a tough decision sending the pitcher back out for the 8th and 9th based on his pitch count. Sutton was not worried about being a jinx...as they went to break after each inning he mentioned the no-hitter.

    I started watching the no-no in the 7th and the Arizona color announcer (didn't sound like Grace tonight) commented that Nolan Ryan would definitely like this no hitter based on the pitch count.

    Can these weather radios be set up to only alert me for a tornado warning? I don't need things beeping in the middle of the night over a t-storm.

    Never thought I'd see the day in the USA where soccer and tennis were the two lead sports stories.

    Did you look at their website, Menotti? The pics give it the appearance of a fun bar, and they do mention darts, pool, trivia and Golden Tee 2010.

    I heard one absolute thunder bomb around 3 AM (?) and that is all. I slept right through it and had to make a call this morning to see how bad it got. I was told it was like strobe lights with all of the lightning out there. I hope I can hear a siren go off if the weather gets bad enough.

    I was a pitcher in college and we always talked about this...but never got to do it. I would choose something pre-Black era by Metallica. It's got to get me pumped. Master of Puppets, For Whom the Bell Tolls, etc.
