  1. I'm going to be moving later this summer and am considering hiring someone to handle the moving. Anybody have any good/bad experiences they'd like to share? Good companies and bad? Ballpark pricing? I will be leaving Madison and moving to the Milwaukee area if that helps.
  2. Mmm, Chipotle burritos. I tend to avoid Rocky's for the most part as well. During my college days, a roommate of mine was a manager at Rocky's and brought pizzas home for all of us almost every night. It was overkill, but it was always free and as a college student it doesn't get any better than free.
  3. I doubt it has anything to do with getting sick. I tend to have the fan blowing right on me and some mornings (in the cooler months), I feel a touch of cold-like symptoms but they usually are nothing. It's just that I always get one big cold every spring and it hasn't really hit yet.
  4. Yeah, that was a great win for Nashville. They can bury the 'Hawks if they win game 4. I am just not confident in Niemi to win in the playoffs. Sharks/Avalanche was another great game. The playoffs have been great so far.
  5. Kings are sticking it to Vancouver near the end of the second period 4-1 (edit, now 4-2)...Luongo has been pulled. If Vancouver can't figure out how to stop the LA power play (3 PP goals tonight, 7 for the series), they're done.
  6. Brian Engblom pointed out that Boyle's back pass was tipped by the Avalanche player causing it to go on net. I hadn't noticed that, and will have to look at the replay again to see if that was the case.
  7. I guess I can take back my statement about no defense being played in the West with 2 (basically 3--Nabokov should get some credit for one) shutouts yesterday. Regarding Nabokov and the Sharks, how horrible was that loss last night? Out-shoot the Avalanche 51-17 for the game and 42-7 in periods 2 & 3 and lose because your own defenseman puts one in his own net in OT. Unreal. At the same time, credit to Avalanche goalie Craig Anderson for stopping everything thrown his way. Nice to see Niemi rebound for the 'Hawks, but now it's off to Nashville. We'll see how the road treats them.
  8. Stu Grimson.
  9. You should point out that Philadelphia is West New Jersey.Yeah, I know. I also should have been more clear. I don't actually have friends in Philly, I post on an Eagles message board that also covers the Phillies, so I got to read their thoughts on this.
  10. Big win for Nashville. I'm concerned about the goaltending situation for Chicago as Niemi/Huet don't seem like they can carry a team on their own. As for the other games in the West...no defense being played last night. You just never see high scoring playoff games like those.
  11. What fun. TRWI7...time to switch over to Versus for Game 1.
  12. While we may not have too much board interest, I hate to jack the Badger hockey thread, so here it is....the 2010 NHL Playoffs thread.
  13. Hey, I can understand that, but the Preds were years away in my youth. I have always casually followed them knowing they were the Admirals parent team. Side note: My all-time favorite goon played for both teams. Who is he? (I searched for quite some time to find an authentic Preds jersey of his, but it was not to be.)
  14. Oh, I wish Milwaukee would've gotten a team too, but I don't think the city could've adequately supported them. For the most part, the Cubs make me want to hate everything Chicago, but I always listened to the Blackhawks on the radio as a youngster and I've continued to follow them to this day. I really wish Pat Foley would come back on the radio side though. Sorry to jack the Badger hockey thread....
  15. Stop me if you've heard this....Hammer some beers and you'll feel fine. I've been waiting for a cold to strike as I've been cranking up the fan while sleeping this week.
  16. So, is there enough interest in hockey for an NHL playoffs thread? If there is, we need to fire one up. My favorite time of the year...Brewers on one channel and Versus on the other. Go Blackhawks!
  17. You can't miss the Brewers...just hammer some beers and you'll feel fine. (Blue font.)
  18. That's a guy? I would've flipped a coin. My Philly friends are in damage control and pointing out that this person is from Jersey...
  19. I have to echo a lot of the comments already made here. --They opened the parking lots well before the announced time of 10 AM. Anyone who goes every year knows that this is the case, but they really seemed to open even earlier this year. When we approached the stadium at 9:30, there were easily 5 full rows of cars in the preferred areas. We ended up being parked by 9:45. --What can you say about that weather? I wore shorts and a t-shirt. On Opening Day? Awesome. --Great people all around us in the lot. One group of girls next to us shared their cupcakes with us and everyone was very friendly and nothing too wild going on. --Lots of good people watching. All told, it was a good time. Only thing missing was a Brewers win.
  20. I'm not sure. There was a game that day, but it seems rather ordinary. The Brewers beat LA, 5-3, to go over .500 (20-19) after a stretch that had seen them drop 7 of 10.
  21. As I figured, Duke in a cake walk....
  22. You haven't figured it out yet? I thought I'd see you by now...but, I am rather busy most of the time and not checking out the crowd. I will be transferring to our new store in Menomonee Falls later this year. It will be quite a change leaving my comfort zone of 22 years.
  23. Hawing, I had a similar experience with my daughter (then 7, now 8) at her first game last summer. She thought it was the greatest thing ever. We are moving this summer (job transfer) and she is totally on board because we will be living very close to the ballpark. Not sure who's more psyched, me or her.
  24. Damn, I hate Duke as much as the Cubs (and that's as much as anyone can hate anything), but I think Duke just won the title. Michigan State just cost me a guaranteed top 5 finish (and over $150) in a 200+ person pool as I had them in the title game. Stupid Izzo and his 50 point scoring team. Now I feel like the die-hard Badger fans in how much I hate you and your team. What a dull effort. Please, please, please...go Mountaineers.
  25. I'm not much of a cake person, but until recently I'd never heard of red velvet cake. What makes it strange is that the only reason I now heard of it was that Yoplait introduced a Red Velvet cake yogurt flavor.
