  1. Are you guys playing online or have a local guy? I tried to get in on the Derby via TVG or Twin Spires, both of which are legal in about 50% of USA, but not Wisconsin.
  2. I deal with a lot of cheese companies at work, here is an idea what "Master's Mark" is: "Administered by the Center for Dairy Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the program is open to veteran Wisconsin cheesemakers with a minimum of 10 years experience in Quality Assured plants. Candidates can seek certification for up to two cheese varieties each time they enter the three-year program. They must have been making those specific varieties for at least five years. Only certified Master Cheesemakers are eligible to use the Master's Mark® on their product. 3. As a longtime employee at one of the grocer's mentioned, let me add something even more annoying than the "strollers"...cell phone users. I'm ok with people making a quick call home to ask about a product, but the customers who are having random conversations are beyond annoying. Even better is when they ask you a question or checkout and don't even bother taking the phone off of their ear. Some of these folks are having conversations that would be better suited for a non-public setting. While we are discussing annoyances at the grocery store, here is the big one: people picking up an item and dumping it off somewhere else in the store when they decide they don't want it anymore. I just love finding a pack of ground beef tucked behind the toilet paper because someone is too lazy to put the item back...all you have to do is tell the cashier you changed your mind, we will put the item back. We have two full-time employees whose only job is to sort through the 50+ carts of shopbacks /distress we amass after a busy weekend.
  4. First, should I know that song? Awful. Second, the Zach crew was right behind us waiting to park on Opening Day. We all made a few comments about their get-ups but look at them all famous (and happy) now!
  5. We all use Virgin in my house, the three of us pay less than $100/month combined. I've had it for years and am grandfathered in at $25/month with unlimited text and data. I did pay up front for my Android phone, but I have no complaints. I'm not a phone snob who needs all the bells and whistles, I mainly use it to text and watch DirecTV Sunday Ticket app at work. Virgin runs on the Sprint network if that means anything to you. I'm in Milwaukee area and have no reception issues phone-wise, but there is really no 4G to speak of, just 3G, but again, it works for me and the price is right. Depending on how much/little you talk, you can save more. I think it's unlimited everything for $55 and if you go to a 1200 minute plan, it's $45 and $35 for a 300 minute plan, but all with unlimited text and data.
  6. Funny, Joe Block was interviewing Michael Wacha on pregame last night and mentioned The Muppets. Asked Wacha if anyone does the Fozzy "wocka" (spelling?) to him and also mentioned Scooter Gennett. Thought of this thread right away.
  7. I just did this two weeks ago. First year it's $52/month without movie package, which you get free for first 3 months. My rate is lower because I also used a referral to save $10/month for 10 months. Plus I have another friend who's going to sign up and use my referral to save us both an additional $10/month. I know this was about ATT, just wanted to chime in.
  8. Any August dates going to be added beyond the 3 Friday games?
  9. Saw Social Distortion at Summerfest on Sunday night. They're a band I've always liked, but the timing never worked out to see them live. Glad I finally got the chance.

  11. Absolutely. This is a big issue. Most of the vendors/reps do so many stores in the area that their main concern is getting product on the shelves and moving on to their next account.
  12. I still do, just not in Madison. Just started my 26th year with the company. Dates are a big issue and we do try and avoid having outdated items on shelf. We now have a person who goes through the store and does nothing but check product dates. You've probably seen stickers above the shelves with months/day labels, that determines when a section gets checked. One of the biggest issues we have is constant turnover on 3rd shift, who do the majority of the stocking. We are very cautious in my department as we have short turnaround on many things. It's something we are very conscientious of but sometimes we miss things, get short codes on delivery, etc., but we are trying.
  13. I see tornado watches are issued for Jefferson and Walworth til 9 PM tonight.
  14. I think what I really meant was Angel Salome.
  15. Lou Palmisano was going to be the answer to our catching prayers...
  16. I keep expecting them to have an off night and it hasn't happened yet. Let's just hope this isn't the only highlight of their season...as much fun as this is, I want the Cup.
  17. I never followed hockey growing up so never really had an allegiance to anyone. Thought it'd be fun to join the crowd in at least one sport in this city. And lots of people root for Wisconsin and the Cubs. Lots root for Green Bay and the Cubs. Lots root for the Bears and Wisconsin. Not that unusual. I also am a huge Blackhawks fan living in Milwaukee. As a kid I listened to the games on my clock radio when I went to bed, I'm now going on 25 years as a fan. It does bug me to know I'm rooting side-by-side with hated Cubs fans, but at the same time, I hate the Packers and manage to co-exist with their fans who are also Brewers fans.
  18. Does anyone know the deal with WSSP going to CBS Sports Radio and dumping Fox Sports Radio? Does that means Rome is on locally now? Either way, I like Fox's night sports talk much better than what I've heard on CBS this week. That Farrell guy (or whatever his name is) with the voice that sounds like rocks in a blender drives me nuts, solely because of the voice. Maybe I don't like the network because it's new to me...
  19. Turborickey, reading your posts in this topic, I would've thought they were mine. I like the same music as you and agree about owning an actual copy. Unfortunately, I did not purchase much this year, but my favorite album was Albatross by Big Wreck. A little off of my preferred 80s/90s hard rock/metal scene, but they are long-time favorite of mine.
  20. That person was spot-on.
  21. Was fun to watch Prince wave everybody off for the final out.
  22. Yeah he told the kid they were gonna send his parents back to their seats. He said the kid should stay in the booth and drink some Miller Lites and eat hot dogs. Something along those lines. Had it on in the car and he had me rolling at that line.
  23. 'm not really happy about the idea of hanging banners to celebrate wildcard or division championships, it's sort of feels like something teams with low expectations do. See, I'm OK with hanging banners, it just sucks that it's gotta be while we face the Cards. It feels like it really diminishes everything.
  24. I always think of "The Brady Bunch" when I hear Davy Jones' name.
  25. But in the end, the Cardinals championship really took away from the significance of it. It doesn't feel like a true division championship when another team in your division ends up having more success in the end. We couldn't even claim to be the best team in the division. I have commented to friends about this in regards to Opening Day...it's gonna be weird to symbolically raise the divisional banner in front of your foe who defeated you to go on and win the World Series. Do the Cards give it a top step 'golf clap' as the banner goes up as the accomplishment is recognized?
