  1. All reports are that they only aimed to sign either of Buerhle or Wilson, not both. Whoever signed first they would go with. Wilson's offer is likely off the table now. I thought it was funny that the no-trade clause was supposedly such a sticking point in the Pujols talks. 10 years, 220 million, that's a no-trade clause in and of itself.
  2. Per Ken Rosenthal on Twitter
  3. Phillies supposedly out on Ramirez and focusing on Rollins.
  4. Danny Knobler posted this last night.
  5. According to Buster Olney, the Brewers told Boras they'd go up to 6/120.
  6. We had to replace our furnace last winter and I love the new one. I had to do it fast, but still met with 5-6 companies. I ended up going with Gross (http://www.grossheating.com/) out in Brookfield. They treated me great from the very first call, and their prices were the best of any company I met with. I can't remember for certain which company this story applied to unfortunately, but I wrote this up last year;
  7. I'd pretty much echo what rawbecht said. I think it was mentioned in the WWE thread that Russo isn't doing the booking anymore, so maybe it can get better. Before the WCW Reunion Tour took over, they were doing some good things and pushing some of the younger guys finally.
  8. Last night's episode was good, and left me thinking that the problem with the pacing in the past month may have been a result of them deciding how they want to wrap the first half of the season, and then not having a good way there. Which sucks, because it's a waste of episodes and time. So this is probably a good time for a break. As for how the barn went down in the comic compared to last night, about the only similarity is that eventually the walkers in the barn are dead. How it went in the comic [+]In the comic, Sophia's storyline is vastly different and she wasn't a walker in the barn. The zombies aren't let out to be killed, they break out and kill two of Hershel's children. Hershel's son was being kept in the barn and he finally accepts that they're not human and kills his own son. That mostly wraps up the farm storyline and they are forced to move on.
  9. For the design nerds in the audience; http://drawsigner.com/2011/11/23/fowl-ball/
  10. I have to say, the people on the show make some stupid choices that the people in the comic don't. As annoying as the Sophia storyline is, how do you go from finding a credible lead one week, to thinking she's maybe hiding out in a subdivision that anyone should have known would be full of walkers? And how do they go through their initial sweep of the houses with guns drawn instead of some sort of quiet weapon? They go far from the house to shoot guns and not attract walkers to themselves earlier in the episode, but when they go into a deadzone, they prepare to start shooting first? The show is just going far to slow to make up for lameness like that.
  11. According to Jon Heyman
  12. Two updates on Twitter recently. First is from Ken Rosenthal: and the other from Jon Heyman:
  13. I read some of the comic after the show started, and it's like any other transition from print to screen, some stuff is the same, some sort of the same, and some completely different.
  14. Generally, I agree with your criticisms chadomac, but for some reason I'm not overly aggravated by the show. This week's episode though was almost entirely pointless and lacked any tense moments really and I was let down this week, but I've still found myself enjoying the show so far. Hopefully this isn't the turn down a bad path like last season. I don't suspect it will be, I suspect they'll follow the comic as it pertains to the barn on the farm, and that should make some good drama.
  15. Spent the day looking at used cars, which isn't exactly how you want to spend you Saturday. "What's it going to take to get you into one of these cars today?" How about having a car I feel like putting my money towards? No? Okay. "My manager is so confident in this car, he's willing to include a warranty for an additional $600." "That's not really including it, that's selling me something for an additional $600 and speaks nothing to the confidence in the car." Anyway, we found one at a dealership we're interested in, but I see on the CarFax its been in two accidents, but it seems like it was maintained well over its history. I normally take our main car to the Toyota dealership, and this is a Honda. If I want someone to check it out, should I look for a Honda dealership? I don't have a mechanic to reliably take it.
  16. I liked TNA until they decided to try to re-live the WCW glory days. Almost overnight the younger guys, and especially the X Division got buried which was really disappointing.
  17. Interesting write-up about Sveum's Boston interview and history with the Brewers. http://milwaukee.brewers....0&vkey=news_mil&c_id=mil
  18. I think you misread then, he talks about Fielder in his write up about Ramirez.
  19. Christmas came very early this year!
  20. I wouldn't say Braun does it all of the time, he does it, but he's gotten way better about it. Sometimes it's almost like you can see that he was going to admire it, and then realizes it, puts his head down and runs.
  21. I said outside of Miller Park after Game 6, that if it was any team besides the Cardinals, we'd be able to talk about what an unbelievable run they were having, maybe one of the most storybook ends to a season ever. Last night was undoubtedly one of the best World Series games of all time, and yes, it being the Cardinals leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, but as a baseball fan, that's just simply an unimaginable turn of events, and it happened twice!
  22. Hahaha. Well played, well played.
  23. What was really annoying was the baseball pundits on Twitter last night seemed to more believe Carpenter was just yelling at himself, or to no one in general. Ya....sure. @Buster_ESPN Buster Olney For those assuming Carpenter was yelling at Napoli. I kind of wonder if he was yelling in anger at himself for giving up tying HR. Not sure. @Ken_Rosenthal Ken Rosenthal Carp came off field screaming at himself, fired his glove into dugout bench. @Ken_Rosenthal Ken Rosenthal Lot of tweeps think Carp yelled at Napoli. Ok, but he kept screaming into dugout, then fired glove.
