  1. (I'm not trying to bash Ellerson, but he has even admitted on the air he knows next to nothing about baseball.)Then why is he a sports radio host in a city where the main draw is the Milwaukee Brewers??? Ugh... Because he's a good radio host and the Brewers aren't the only thing they cover.
  2. This is why stuff like this can be so dangerous though, it didn't take long for you to connect that Witrado has more access than us, so it makes sense to be true. But the facts don't support the belief in the least. Braun could have said something much different to still make a PC type response to that question (which he is very good at) but he said something much more specific and honest. Everyone in the the baseball world knew this was a steal for the Brewers at the time, there is no way Braun and his handlers weren't aware of the trade off they were making at the time. Also, if Braun was going to be looking to leave in a trade, would he really be helping in starting two business in Wisconsin with his likeness? Because leaving in that manner would certainly doom those ventures to failure.
  3. That's the power of following your heart! :D I forgot about that one at first, but yes that really jumped out at the time too. How far through the season are we now? It has to be about half-way? I might just stick around to see where they go at the half-point turn and decide if I'll finish the season then.
  4. pitchleague's post made me remember what was probably the worst abuse of the "real-time" format I can remember. I think it was Season 5, when Chloe's husband gets kidnapped, tortured (by driving an electric drill into his shoulder mind you), fixes a trigger for a nuclear device, gets rescued, and is back to work within an hour's time.
  5. Ya, the turn for Dana Walsh, while surprising to me, was no less annoying, it just makes her story line even more ridiculous. As thebruce44 pointed out, it makes this whole thing make no sense story-wise. Nevermind that she seemed very afraid to kill her ex-boyfriend in the middle of nowhere, but had no problem strangling a probation officer (whose own insistence on forcing Dana to deal with a probation issue over a nuclear threat makes no sense either) to death in the middle of CTU. I liked how this season started, but it has gotten old fast. I was able to overlook dumb stuff for awhile, but now it's just starting to feel like a waste of time.
  6. I liked when John Hart said Corey Hart was a grinder, that he really grinds out every at bat. Yes, yes he does. All one pitch of it. I liked it all and all. I thought Matt Vasgersian wearing the Hulk hand thing was funny. It was cool to see Pleasac excited about the team. I hope his season prediction is as good.
  7. In last year's finale, Jacob and the man in black were sitting on the beach while the Black Rock traveled to the island. I'm not sure what Widmore's play is yet, but I'm curious and I'm glad he wasn't just forgotten. Next week's episode should be pretty interesting.
  8. I found myself fast forwarding a lot through this week's episode, especially the Dana Walsh stuff. I didn't really like the EMP bit, taking out CTU has been done to much. Eh.
  9. I always hoped they would have ended the series the year they faked Jack's death in the finale. That would have been a good time to end the series and good way for Jack to go out, all Bruce Banner, walking into the sunset.
  10. I don't think Milton was all that bad in that interview, all and all. Typical Milton not taking any responsibility for himself, but I fully agree with brewjihad, what an awful, loaded interview and ESPN ends up looking worse in the interview than Bradley, which is saying something. Every single question was trying to lead to a sound bite they could make an issue out of.
  11. Last night's episode was very strong, and it was good to see that Ben didn't make the choice you would expect him to make. Also, a bit of Lost humor;
  12. That's disappointing to see Prince did that, and odd that people decided to rail on Prince for what they thought he was maybe, possibly, totally going to do, by staying in the game later, instead of commenting on that.
  13. That's a hilarious quote from Sheets.
  14. Wait. What? No need for throwing at the head in a game that doesn't count? So if it had counted...? And the consequence of injury you're worried about is from the brawl? Not, say, the THROWING AT THE HEAD!? Wow.
  15. Ya, it's not true that it was all written in advance. JJ Abrams has said that they always knew some elements, but that nobody could have predicted where it went. But that is also why they picked their own end date a long time ago now, so they could write the story they wanted, not be dragging it out pointlessly. Wasn't it pretty well stated that nobody was actually coming to the island, but that Jacob wanted Jack to see the lighthouse? I'm not sure what role, if any, Desmond will have yet this year, though I hope he does. At the moment, it seems possible they are setting up for Jack to be the new Jacob, and Sayid to be the new smoke monster, but I'm guessing it's more involved than that, and hope it is as well.
  16. Technically there are 11 episodes left I think. I think they were saying last night there are only 10 more until the finale. Personally I thought last night's episode was spectacular and when I stop to think of it, I don't think there a lot of questions about what's happening really remaining. Maybe for the first time, the majority of the questions about Lost right now for me are about what will happen, not what just happened and why. I do think there will be things left unresolved for some people, for instance, Widmore and his whole role seem to have completely disappeared, but ultimately I don't much care about that.
  17. It's hard to comment on this since the article really doesn't mention what the law would do, or what would change. While I've had negative experiences with scalpers, it has been on the bridge. I have also given away or sold tickets cheap in the parking lot, to someone walking around asking for tickets, who I thought was just a fan, only to end up having someone completely different show up in those seats, who paid more for them.
  18. That's probably right. Paypal will hold money on tickets for 30 days if you don't get delivery confirmation, which in itself is silly, because you just have to have the delivery service confirm it was delivered, which just confirms I sent something, not that I sent what the seller bought.
  19. I got a subscription as a birthday gift last year, and was able to renew for $1. Crazy. I don't love the mag at all, but for $1 and Insider Access, I'll take it.
  20. It was worse then I predicted actually. A private investigator? Of course!
  21. It's not even close to over. I haven't watched tonight's yet, but you know they're going to have to try to save the ex and then cover up what happened and their involvement, and slowly people will start asking questions, that they'll try to deflect. They'll be dragging this out for some time yet.
  22. The mountain lion expedition at least gave us the Kim in tank top scene, so I never could completely hate it! This season has fizzled some from a decent start. I don't know one person who doesn't hate the side storyline, and I hate more that they drug Cole into that story now. I was hoping for a better role for him, working directly with Jack more. At this point though, it's pretty hard for the show to be inventive or as good as it was, so I pretty much accept that going in, and it tends to not frustrate me like other shows.
  23. I was saying that to my wife last night. For me, that has been by far the best thing to watch in this Olympics.
  24. I think the timeline shifted at the moment of the bomb going off, not after that. The show has played with "destiny" forever, so it would seem to fit that if the island is buried, each of them had their destiny change at that point, explaining the differences.
