If anything, I just hope we take these next two because suddenly people are talking that the Cubs are back in the playoff picture, including Cubs fans. The first two games of this series, the previews talked about how the Brewers and Cubs both expected for these games to mean more, but their playoff hopes have been dashed. Today's previews are all about how the Cubs are making an "improbable run". Let's squash that at least some. Please?

There is a poll on CBSSports.com right now (yes, over a week later) asking, "Do you think Prince Fielder was out of line with his celebration?" The results currently stand as; 40% Yes 29% No Total Votes: 7023 How the heck is 31% missing out of that? There are only two options.

If finances were different, I'd love to get in on this. Hopefully next year. Thanks for doing it again Doorman.

Per Witrado: Ryan Braun is out of the lineup tonight, and we can only speculate on it being his shoulder that kept him out of a game during the last home stand. Just seeing this thread for the first time, but, I've worked independently for over two years now, doing largely web design and front-end development. I know a bit about PHP, less about .NET. For larger PHP jobs I usually bring in a friend from Michigan, but I pretty much always turn down .NET RFPs because I don't know anyone well who does .NET and freelances. I'll keep you in mind the next time I have a possibility of a .NET project and we can talk.

Wow, reading through those tweets ... well that's just embarrassing.

Not a good sign when half of your hits have come from Kendall and Gerut. And Escobar's was a freebie.

Macha, in March;

That flies in the face of what they were saying on the broadcasts earlier in the season. It was pretty well stated repeatedly that Macha didn't want them to be running. From what I recall, the green light didn't light up until the blood-letting a month ago. I don't buy the taught not to run line. Cameron wasn't brought up through our system. This will be the first season in his career since he has been a regular starter that he doesn't have double digits in stolen bases. Heck, he doesn't even have double digit attempts. Lopez, while not a huge runner, has technically slowed down his attempts since coming here, and he's been on base at a higher rate while here as well. Braun though does run at some strange times, and I've often wondered if he's just ignoring orders or not. He's the only guy with double digit stolen bases on the season. Outside of Hart, Braun is the only guy with double digit attempts. Hart's numbers are also way off what they have been. Yes, he's been miserable this year, and he's been out, but there is a clear difference in his numbers this year, versus his previous seasons, even despite his output.

I'm surprised to see so many people (mostly off this site) complaining that this came from a team with a losing record. (I can't count how many times I've seen a statement like, "This is like celebrating a touchdown when you're down 41-14. Ummm, no, actually it's not. At all.) Personally, the thing I liked the most about it was the fact that they could still enjoy each other enough when they've had such a miserable season, to celebrate like that together. To me it showed unity, and that even though things have been awful, there's a good chemistry amongst the guys in the locker room. I think it says a lot more about them strictly because of their situation.
