I'm so ready for interleague play to be over. Hmph. Unfortunately I'm afraid we'll easily limp into the All-Star break with the schedule from here on out.

Derrek Lee is all of the sudden a threat. We'll see how long it lasts, since he's been increasingly marginal for the past two seasons. But he's sure been a boost this past week for the Cubs.

The way Prince has been going, he'll get them back tomorrow.

The important part about the rain out rule that dlk9s posted is that this isn't a regulation game at this point, so that doesn't matter. It's still possible this game is just thrown out altogether like the St. Louis one was. I spent a lot of time with the rain out rules during the St. Louis rain out! :D

No, since the game has started, it's only up to the umpiring crew now.

This one looks far more believable actually;

My video game days have slowed dramatically, but I'm in love with the demo for Fight Night 4 that releases at the end of this month. I also noticed today there's a demo on the 360 for The Bigs 2 that features Prince. I set it up to download, but haven't played it yet.

As if Cardinal Nation didn't hate Ankiel enough this year.

The email that went out had different language on it, that made me think they were filling one whole rooftop with Crew fans, Reading the official rules though, it states there is 1 winner who will get 4 tickets. Ummm, ya, no thanks.

This was posted yesterday at NSBB. Just brutal: Another bizarre stat for the Cubs. Alfonso Soriano (our leadoff hitter), leads the team with just 28 RBIs. How bad is that? Well, take a look at how it compares to other teams RBI leaders: (The first number is how many hitters have more than 28 RBIs, the second number is how many RBIs the leader has) ARI - 2, 45 ATL - 3, 35 BAL - 4, 44 BOS - 4, 63 CHW - 3, 41 CIN - 3, 43 CLE - 4, 49 COL - 4, 47 DET - 3, 42 FLA - 5, 43 HOU - 3, 40 KAN - 2, 30 LAA - 4, 51 LAD - 5, 44 MIL - 4, 63 MIN - 5, 55 NYY - 5, 55 NYM - 2, 39 OAK - 3, 38 PHI - 6, 59 PIT - 3, 34 SDG - 2, 43 SFO - 3, 39 SEA - 3, 40 STL - 3, 58 TAM - 5, 59 TEX - 4, 46 TOR - 6, 47 WAS - 4, 46 Some interesting things pulled from that - Every team has at least 2 guys with more RBIs than the Cubs best RBI guy - The Phillies and Blue Jays each have 6 GUYS with more RBIs than the Cubs leader. The Jays actually have a 7th hitter, who is tied with Soriano with 28 RBIs. 7/9 hitters have as many or more RBIs than the Cubs best guy - Every team but 3 in the league has at least one guy with 10 more RBIs than Soriano - All in all, 107 different players have more RBIs than Soriano's 28. Unbelievable

What a series, I'm impressed we took all three. Just exhausting games, each one.

I was quite comfortable in my land of forgetting what that felt like.

I noticed last night my cable guide had it listed on both as well. But they did say WMLW on the broadcast last night.

You could hear someone yelling "Gamel Toe" during Gamel's final at-bat last night. You can catch Princes move briefly near the end of this clip.

Well first, I'll apologize for the bit of snark in my earlier post, but I've personally always liked the perks I get as a seat holder, but I've never bothered to look at what other teams offer. However, nobody is really saying what we're missing, and I was curious what other benefits people feel are missing that other teams offer. So here's my look at the benefits given by other teams in our division, except the Cubs who don't seem to list their benefits. I have to admit, some teams have some nice perks we don't, however, they also tend to be the teams that have been cellar teams for a bit. There are some minor differences (i.e. the Astros have a digital newsletter for seat holders) that I don't think I'd squabble over being big bonus perks, but there are others that would be great for the Brewers to do/consider I think. Some of these benefits are likely only for full season accounts too, bear in mind, but here are some differences I noticed: Astros They don't seem to list benefits between partial season tickets and full season. The benefits that are listed are labeled Full Season Benefits. Ability to buy tickets to non-baseball events, Madonna concert given as an example, not all that applicable to Miller Park. MVP electronic newsletter 2 free tickets to an exhibition game in Houston Random drawings to throw out the first pitch or attend batting practice Half price College Classics tickets Be in focus groups MVP cards for 15% off of merchandise in team stores No mention of Opening Day tickets Cardinals The Cards offer the least, but they don't really have a problem with attendance either. Season ticket holder gift (doesn't state what it is) MVP card for discounts in team stores (doesn't state amounts) Gameday magazine subscription Pirates The Pirates have some crazy perks, but they look to come at a hefty price. They more money you spend, the bigger the perks. They offer gifts and early renewal incentives that are to numerous to list, but are certainly worth seeing here. Other benefits: Free bonus games, depending on your package tier 2 free PiratesFest tickets Season ticket holder website Early access to the park ID card to use for 15% off merchandise over $75 Free scoreboard message Reds Free RedsFest tickets Luncheon with players and coaches Free scoreboard message for top 3 plans Opening Day for top 2 plans

Yo's early and high pitch counts lately are not faith building. 84 pitches through three innings. Amazing.
