The difference is I don't watch JJ and think he looks lost at the plate like Hart, and especially Hall, do. Heck, Cameron looks the most lost at the plate right now. Also, Hall and Hart's problems have extended well beyond the first 2+ months of this season. JJ may be playing below expectations, especially with the spring he had, but I'm not even close to concerned about him right now. I think his overall numbers skew a lot of people's perception of how he's doing since April.

Hardy hasn't been as bad as certain people seem to think. He had a bad April, a very good May and a rough June so far. But the whole team has had a rough June and JJ has had bad luck. He's hitting the ball with good pop, just not finding the holes. They pointed out on the broadcast last night I believe, that while in Atlanta, every night when they showed the Braves defensive highlight of the game, JJ was at bat. JJ put up a .313 avg / .888 OPS in May. His .156 avg / .500 OPS in April makes his current numbers look bad overall. I'm not worried about Hardy and he's not even close to the discussion of Hart and Hall right now.

I friend requested Max since he had close to 1,000 friends anyway, to see what he was saying. It's cool to see him so excited. His status is; "Max Wallais a brewer! 2nd round? 73rd overall in the draft? true dream come true... is in love with the game." He also labeled his Brewers logo profile pic as, "my team". One last status, from May 31; "Max Walla just got back from cabo and then goin straight to phoenix tomorrow, from there to seattle, from there to milwauke, and from there to LA, and from there finally home. on the 8TH!!!!"

I said in the IGT that day that there were two bits of contact. The first seemed incidental, but the second the ump leaned into Cam and then immediately started calling Cam for a bump. Pretty slimey. Still a 1 game suspension seems fair, Cam shouldn't have been in that spot regardless. Yes he was walking away while complaining, which is pretty much what you're supposed to do if you're going to say something, but he also did have a minor fit first. If it gets reduced to 1 game, I don't have complaint with it.

I missed out on the sale tickets to this one. Here's to second chances. Thanks for the opportunity Pedro.

JJ had a horrible April, but he batted .313 with an .888 OPS in May. I wouldn't call that non-existent.

Having Hoffman for the 9th has been huge, it's allowed Macha to put guys into the right spots and roles. And of course it seems like everyone is stepping up tremendously. Here's to hoping they keep it going, it's been vital to our success.
  15. pretendastronaut
It'll be interesting to see what happens with Cam and the bump. I watched it in slow motion and the first bit of contact seemed pretty incidental, but there was a second bump that was completely the ump bumping Cam, and the ump immediately started yelling that Cam bumped him after that. Cam wasn't even moving, the ump leaned into him.

Villy has 17 Ks in his last 9 IPs they said tonight. That's nuts.

I know a lot of people have been vocal about the sac bunt around here lately, but I just don't see how the stats would back up having a bad hitting pitcher, who can bunt very well, not lay down the sac bunt in that situation.

Exactly jeffyscott, it's amazing what someone will say to justify their man. There are a handful of people using this defense of Ankiel over there. I didn't realize this was an "unspoken rule" (as they're referring to it over there) but I guess the Cardinals should know, they're the keeper of the flame after all. To be fair, I'd say 50% of the people in that thread realize what a dope move it was.
