  1. Someday you would think after complaining about the error on McGehee for 10 minutes they might acknowledge errors really aren't a good way to measure defense.
  2. Gload isn't going to drive balls to the right when Green won't ever pitch him there so the shift doesn't really work...
  3. No Boggs had to pass through waivers and could have become a FA. This was all based on Reed being a spring training hero for the 3rd season in a row.
  4. There were tons of options before the season started with guys like Cabrera signing for $1m. Is Cabrera a great player? No but he's still better than Betnacourt.
  5. McLouth is a real bad fielder. Not sure you really gain anything. It wouldn't be terrible but it would be the Brewers losing one of there only good fielders
  6. Reed should never have been on the team. But does having Boggs on the team really matter if Kotsay still gets 2/3rds of the starts? Morgan is a better player than Boggs and he can't get past the Kotsay juggernaught. Yes playing Almonte in RF is insane but it was insane from the beginning and yet it happened.
  7. Actually it often isn't. Look what the Astros took for Oswalt.
  8. He's actually been swinging less at stuff out of the zone. But he's swinging more in the zone and making less contact
  9. Well I could see Seattle shipping off Jack Wilson
  10. And I expect the Rays to be right there in the WC hunt. And that still ignores the fact that Zorbrist hasn't played SS since 2009 which was only for emergency reasons.
  11. Zobrist is basically the Rays starting 2B, why would they trade him?
  12. Not when you're hitting in front of Braun or can steal bases at a 85% clip
  13. No you can't. This isn't like saying a player hit .400 over 11 games. This is like taking the speed of the ball leaving the bat and estimating what the player's batting average over 11 games is.
  14. Suppan's first year in Milwaukee was one of Suppan's best seasons in years. Wolf has been a better pitcher over his career than Suppan was.
  15. His BB% hasn't moved really until this year though (SSS alert). Going from 6-8BB% isn't that big of a thing.
  16. I wish to stress that Betancourt's bad defense isn't a stats guys thing. Its what scouts have said since 2008. Its what Mariner's fans who watched him play and balloon up said. Its what people who watched him in KC said.
  17. Same reason the Nats gave away Ohka to the Brewers. Someone got upset.
  18. Kottaras has 3 years before free agency, Nieves is a one year contract.
