  1. I'd still drop Kapler--not sure why people think at 32 he is suddenly good because he had a hot week. Mench hit like .450 his first week last year too
  2. Yeah he could be working for the Timberwolves! Amazing happens there too!
  3. Gwynn might go on the DL--the fact Dillon was called on to bunt and not Gwynn last night I think speaks to the injury.
  4. Nope Braun is a year behind Tulo because he didn't start the season in Milwaukee. There just is no reason to do this now.
  5. WEEE! http://www.fangraphs.com/lgraphs/280408108_Reds_Brewers_59611633_lbig.png
  6. Because Mota having trouble throwing strikes to Griffey and Phillips wasn't a big enough sign
  7. Yost's masterful stroke of having the Red's order turn over pays off!
  8. Well it did save us from another pitching change...
  9. Bill thinks Shouse can get right handers....
  10. Dusty outmanaged Ned. Ned got lucky.
  11. So they're saving Shouse for the guys Dusty won't think twice about lifting?
  12. Not sure why Kendall never went to 2B there, Bako would have eaten the ball
  13. Hardy batting 8th last year: .314/.330/.581
  14. That Brilliant Dale Sveum able to know that Dunn can't play left field! Amazing!
  15. Hart and Villaneuva are the only player on the Brewers who aren't millionaires yet by my count. (Its hard to judge Dillon). Hart could be the best one to target because of the fact is he doesn't have that huge signing bonus in the bank (not to say he's poor or anything)
  16. No it doesn't. Those 20 PAs are easily made up by the fact that the pitcher is hit for late in games.
  17. If you're already tuning out watch she says, mentally sorting your next days to do list during dinner or constantly checking your watch to see if you'll get home in time to catch Jon Stewart its not likely to get better. If she enjoys Brewers games, its nice you found another person to watch games with, but at this time that really sounds about it.
  18. Marquette being good likely hurt their chances. Marquette isn't a name that can bring talent by itself and so there is a decent shot of not doing as well in the next 3 years. You take a WSU program and get them to postseason play, you're a genius. You take Marquette to the tournament, you're expected to. That however does not mean that Williams was a good choice.
  19. The problem is insurance usually only pays if the player misses the full season. If you have a Scott Rolen situation where the player plays some but at a really reduced capacity, it doesn't help you.
  20. Jeter pulled his groin
  21. Actually those injuries happen all the time. Now they aren't usually career ending but they'll kill performance for that season. If in 2010 Braun has a injury like say Hardy had in 2004 and 2006, or Weeks ahd 2006-2007 or Hall had in 2007 where he plays part time but he plays poorly, his arby award won't be as high. Also these al;l assume salary growht. Lasrt time theri was a recession salaries staked out. This recession would be deeper than in 2001.
  22. Before the Cordero offer, I thought there was no way Sheets would be back, but after offering Cordero $13 million, getting Sheets $16 million isn't out of the question. Still unlikely though.
  23. The only one who couldn't handle the pressure was Yost.
