  1. For what it is worth, I know Ned said he wanted to maintain continuity in his offense. Since he plans on batting Cameron 2nd when he returns, whoever fills in for Cameron will also bat 2nd. Ned doesn't want to juggle the line-up this year. I doubt that makes you feel better, but there you go. As for Gwynn and Prince batting back to back - we will just wear through opponents bullpens faster. If you bring in a LHP to face them, you have to remove that pitcher for Braun. (As Braun kills LHP) And if you separate them, Gwynn won't have to face a lefty because they'll save the LOOGY for Prince. Or they bring the lefty to face Gwynn and Prince doesn't have to face the submariner. Separating lefties goes through bullpens faster.
  2. That really is my biggest fear, because it happened last season. After Gwynn had a big series against the Mets he kept on getting put in the lineup. I could easily see Gwynn hitting .300/.330/.360 for a month and suddenly Braun get DS out for defensive reasons or Cameron gets a day off every week.
  3. Not just that, the Brewers have two left handed hitters and Yost is hitting them back to back. Now neither Gwynn nor Fielder should have huge platoon splits, but why make it easier for opposing managers?
  4. Suppan gets $12.5 million the next two years plus $2 million to buyout his 2011 option. So $27 million for Suppan over 2009 and 2010. And a limited no trade clause. Like I said the Brewers likely can't trade him now because of the lack of depth.
  5. Want to know why the Cubs were able to pull ahead of the Brwers last year? Check out who got manager decided PAs: Jenkins 464 PAs 8.9 VORP Gross 210 PAs 2.9 VORP Mench 308 PAs 2.6 VORP Gwynn 135 PAs 0.1 VORP And Gwynn is set for 300 PAs this season.
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if the Brewers double the Bucks crowd
  7. The M's would be killed in the NL West, they are only better than the Giants. They are just not very good team. Now if they were smart they could get Bonds to DH, move Vidro to the bench and pick up 3 wins, then you might have something.
  8. Civ players should really try Galactic Civilizations II if they haven't yet.
  9. I've heard good things about unknown, but unknown really seems like he sucks
  10. Its a class thing. Tennis and golf are considered teh sports of the upper class and as such different rules were to be expected. No vulgar displays like in football or racing matches here! I can almost gaurentee that this "tradition" goes only back to Victorian England.
  11. He did feel something snap in spring training
  12. Suppan was better last year than he was any year in St Louis. FIP: 2004 4.92 2005 4.71 2006 4.76 2007 4.38
  13. My concern is why are the Brewers hirring a coach with zero experience. Its nice to even further pad his resume for his college coaching career just not sure the Brewers should eb the ones doing it.
  14. This is the PC though. There is no rent. Bioshock can be found for $20 though
  15. The Brewers can no longer trade Suppan unless the unlikely happens and they resign Sheets. Capuano's injury pretty much killed that.
  16. Actually Yost used to always pinch hit for his catcher. He just stopped for some reason
  17. USS Mariner used Zips and projected 77 wins, winning the division 6% of the time PECOTA projects them at 73 wins The point about the run differential is that they weren't an 88 win team talent wise and they are likely to fall from where they were. Meet the White Sox of 2008
  18. They had enough talent to win that year. And if they didn't insist on having Weeks play through an injury they would likely have done so. They actually had a positive run differential so they should have had a winning record.
  19. The Mariners had a negative run differential last season. They've gotten older. Hernandez and Bedard would have to be brillant to allow them to do anything.
  20. I still think the Angels are the only above .500 team there. Yeah the Ms might get some career years and make a run but thats like a 20% event at best.
  21. Yep if it wasn't for Suppan's leadership the Brewers might have blown a huge division lead last year to the Cubs or something
  22. QS last season: Suppan 15 44%QS Bush 15 48%QS Sheets 14 58%QS Vargas 9 39% QS Capuano 6 24%QS "Inconsistent" Dave Bush was more consistent than the dependable Suppan
  23. Yes Suppan is better than Vargas. However he is not better than Dave Bush who people want to take out of the rotation.
  24. Basically any of these that are under $50 I can get free: Verizon Phones I'm thinking about maybe holding off until the Alias goes on sale. EDIT:The big reason I'm with Verizon, besides that most cell phones I call are on Verizon and hence free, is that the Verizon network is really nationwide.
  25. Well yeah, but I'm looking at FREE options
