  1. When the next hitter in the lineup if Fielder, I'm not sure you really have to worry about pitchers hitting him.
  2. Since when is hitting 2 doubles "manufacturing" runs? Was there a change in baseball lexicon in the offseason or has Bill's hatred of the home run caused him to completely forget what words mean?
  3. For those who don't Tecmo (also known as the company that relies on DOA to keep it afloat) is coming out with a new Tecmo Bowl next year www.gamesradar.com/us/ds/game/news/article.jsp?sectionId=1006&articleId=2007051112511783006&releaseId=2007051112233686055
  4. And with Target you can get an extra 10% off if you buy with their credit card (assuming you don't already have one).
  5. Well Balfour had two fairly good seasons with the Twins with K/9 above 9 and K/BB above 2. Thats why I think he's a fairly good option.
  6. Everything I've heard about Olevia and Vizio has been good. Especially Olevia. Sam's Club tends to have very good prices.
  7. The problem of course is that Spurling is out of options and I don't think Melvin wants to lose him for nothing. Balfour also doesn't have any options which is likely why he didn't get the call to replace Weeks because whoever did that might sent back down when Dessens can come off the DL. I think Balfour probably is the best option to come up now that he seems to be over his injury.
  8. Hey Estrada made sure only 2 were left on base!
  9. How slow is Estrada? Really, that was a slow ball to the short stop who had to deal with Braun and had a soft toss to 2B and they still got Estrada in plenty of time at first.
  10. Have no idea why you go with the curve ball there to Ramirez. Bush had him fooled before that. And yeah, it looked like Estrada was late with the tag while not blocking the plate at all.
  11. No he hits 5th because he's a ".300" hitter. But why he's still there sis still weird. He hits behind the other slowest regular, a guy who often is on base. Also by hitting in front of Jenkins, an opposing manger can bring in the lefty to face Estrada and Jenkins knowing that even if Yost would lift Jenkins in favor of Mench, he can still bring in a right handed pitcher.
  12. Given that their was a Dye for Abreu discussion, yeah they'll give him away.
  13. If only Bill was managing then after they walked Cabrera it could have been a 3 run home run! EDIT: Well see if Wise wasn't brought in with a 4 run lead in the 9th he could have gone. There are enough pitchers, they just aren't used effectively.
  14. Not only is Estrada no protection, him hitting behind Fielder is a GIDP waiting to happen.
  15. And a couple years ago Buehrle would have been the difference between 81 and 83 wins. Now he's the difference between home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs or not. Not to mention a serious shot at going to the World Series. That said I don't think you'll get him for a pitcher in High A plus a catcher in High A coming off injury.
  16. The Sox are getting ripped off was the point. Inman and Solome aren't enough alone to get Buerhle alone and then you throw on jetsam like Mench to lower the value you give up.
  17. It was 2 outs and it should have been three. Why bring in Cordero? Why was Wise pitching? Yost had been smartly using Spurling for these spots.
  18. Graffy probably should have held, but Olsen is known for throwing wild pitches and so the team was probably told to try to get to third any time they can.
  19. Same thing happens with Jow Mauer. He's 6'5"! There's never been a catcher that tall before, he has to be moved! Truth is there aren't many baseball players ever over 6'3" so acting like the world is going to end because they're tall is just foolish.
  20. If the Yankees want Texeria it will cost them Hughes. The Rangers wouldn't trade him unless he brings back at least one major piece.
  21. Sure Braun will hit, its just not likely to be soon. And Counsell would be fine batting 2nd given the Weekless options and the fact that Jenkins won't be put #3 (which is thw whole issue). But against lefties, well the Brewers as a whole have problems.
  22. Abreu last year: .297/.424/.462 Abreu has hit since the All Star game, he was huge for the Yankees last year. That said he has been terrible so far this season.
  23. Hall doesn't have a bat for the corner outfield really. And Damon is making $13 million for the next two season plus he has a no trade clause. Really no benefit.
  24. Well there goes my dream of a Kobe, Iverson, Carmello Denver.
  25. Hart in the 8th spot is really a waste. He can't steal there.
