    You're right. I'm sure Ned just knew that he'd get two two out hits in the top of the ninth to go to extra innings. It makes perfect sense then to have your pitcher try a hit an run to get an out and to throw away a bases loaded opportunity in the 7th!

    Dusty is so far ahead of Yost that he knew he could warm up two lefties and Ned still wouldn't pull Jenkins.

    Magruder can't hit righties though. Not at all. He is a career sub 600 OPS from the left side. Anyone on the bench is better than that.

    Until Yost shows he is willing to lift Jenkins against left handers, expect to see every team have a lefty ready to face Jenkins. Dusty was so confident in Yost leaving Jenkins in there he didn't have a righty in the pen warming up. EDIT: Bruce--Magruder was still live. He lead off the inning. Yost could have put anyone in for Jenkins and then replace him with the pitcher next.
