  1. Here comes the Helms' bomb to justify his playing....
  2. Counsell should lead off. Followed by Grieve, Hall(to break up LH), Overbay, Jenkins, Branyan, Catcher du jour, Podsednik. Hopefully Podsednik will be slightly pitched around in the 8th spot so he can start getting on base again.
  3. Well the Brewers were able to hurt the Mets by undoing the double switch with 9 men coming to bat during the inning!
  4. I don't know. I mean only if you consider Mesa to be that much better. And I have seen too many Mesa meltdowns to really believe that.
  5. Well yes, but he is left handed. EDIT:Hey we have a Helms non-play. And now Vizcaino is going to close us out.
  6. Well it was either Durrington or Bennett.
  7. I see a Durrington appearance coming....
  8. So in Milwaukee Simon apparently hits anything that moves.
  9. I was really hoping Yost would be smart and hit Helms for Jenkins where it would make sense. But Grieve might have gotten another AB then and we couldn't have that.
  10. Yep. Bat for Branyan and not Jenkins.
  11. Want to guess that Yost will hit for Branyan and not Jenkins?
  12. At what point does Podsednik sit? Isn't it time for Clark to replace him instead of Grieve?
  13. Ben Grieve has been doing too well lately. If he continued to play so well Yost would be forced to sit Clark. And I thought Overbay was getting a day off?
  14. So Grieve now bats against Wood and if he shows any signs of rust against a top flight [itcher, back to the bench!
  15. Look on the bright side! Jeff Bennett may have destroyed any trade value for Burba! Oh wait, that isn't very good... Too bad the inning didn't go a bit longer, I'm sure he could have gotten the 4 WPs in there
  16. Well Derek Lee is at .300 and often bats 6th.
  17. It was a heroin OD, but to assume his life is over is very farfetched. Lots of people survive addiction.
  18. Yes, he might have decided to have the Angels deal with his rehab instead of depening upon UNC.
  19. Carlos Beltran is only hitting 250--he sucks. Obviously Podsendik is better since he has a higher average, has hit as many home runs and has more RBIs.
  20. If you want to see how powerless this teams is, just look at the players' IsoP. Over 200 is considered a decent power hitter. Currently no one is over that, with Overbay at 194. Jenkin is at 185 which would have some meaning if he wasn't hitting 247. After Jenkins comes Ginter at 171. But to get a true feel of how powerless this team is, look at the hitters that have IsoP below 100. Clark currenty is just above it at 102. Below it are Helms, Counsell, and Bennett.
  21. They only have two games with the Cardinals.
  22. Come on, if the Brewers go to sweep both the Cardinals and the Astros it will be fine....
  23. A left handed pitcher takes Grieve out of the lineup and makes Jenkins flail helplessly. Podsednik has historically done slightly worse against lefties, but not by a great deal. Counsell is pretty much unaffected. Overbay has done slightly worse against leftis, but seeing he is the only offense the Brewers have, any reduction isn't good.
  24. The Brewers are so lefty hitting dependent that any decent lefty will shut them down. Its why the Cubs can be a challenge when they go to Mercker (not however Remlinger who is pretty much done).
