  1. I'm not sure Ezi even approaches the level of roster filler.
  2. If by a lot you mean 4 games and a whole 22 innings, yeah he played 2B a lot. Cirillo has played 31 games at 2B in his major league career and 25 came back in 1995.
  3. Cirillo can't play second in more than emergency situations.
  4. Except that Cirillo can't really play the middle infield where if you are taking a utility infilelder is where the Brewers need the back up. Having a guy whose third on the depth chart at first and third really isn't that important when the Brewers have Spivey playing second and who could down at any time.
  5. See the bullpen wasn't very good last season but I'd hardly consider that the big reason for the Brewers lack of success. If I were to rank th eissues the Brewers face in finding a .500 or winning season it would be more like: 1. Finding 300 innings or so of league average pitching behind Sheets and Davis. This means serious improvement from any or all of the starting canidates over last season. 2. Spivey staying healthy. Hall is a big reason why the offense was putrid last season. If Spivey misses consdierable time ealry in the season, you'll be looking at around the loss of 3-4 wins in offense alone by the All-Star break. 3. Hardy not aggrevating his shoulder--see above. While not as costly offensively, still a very bad thing. 4. Jenkins having a down or injury filled year. 5. Miller falling off a cliff offensively. 6. Ovrebay plays an enitre season unlike last year's first half but closer to what he did for the rest of his MLB career. 7. Other less likely injuries. 8. Bullpen.
  6. Seriously, why does everyone pretend that Botallico is some scrub? He's better than Vizcaino. Wise has had a fair amount of success as well. Helling actually completed alot of major league seasons--look where that gets you.
  7. Better than Miller talking about how Kolb going from the Brewers to the Braves will now, just like Pedro, need to learn about hitters in the NL?
  8. Single after Hart came into to run for Jenkins
  9. I see no reason for the Brewers to move Nelson back to 1B. Even if he never plays in Milwaukee and instead is traded, why not let the other team move him?
  10. Could someone tell Brenly that Borders will be enjoying the summer in Nashville and not Milwaukee?
  11. If by outstanding job you meant decent defensively while a gaping hole offensively. Counsell was a huge pasrt of the problem last season. Moving him to second when he is barely above replacement level at short makes no sense. He won't hit .260 since he hasn't hit that since 2002.
  12. Matheny sucks. Always has. Its only against Milwaukee that he can hit. He has a career OPS of .629. Against Milwauke over the past three seasons hit he had an OPS of .903
  13. Do we have to live with the Obie is fine once through the order myth? It is just not true. His OPS against in innings 1-3 is .771. He turns every one he faces into a corner outfileder. Yes he get worse but he starts off bad too!
  14. Well it does prove that hardytheman likes to uses stats that prove stats are bad. What a Stat head!
  15. Yeah while striking out nine, and hitting two home runs!
  16. Everyoner thought Jennifer Lopez was a good actress after Oiut of Sight. Now, not so much. See it applies!
  17. Well except for the part where Vuch was play by play and Paschke was color commentary...
  18. Kyrnzel had to hold to make sure the ball wasn't caught.
  19. Schroeder calling for Weeks to sacrfice...ugh...
  20. Brooks was far from subpar. He had an RA+ of 120 and gave a VORP of 8.2 as a relief pitcher. He wasn't as stron with batting this year, but in 68 PAs he had a VORP of 4.4. A total VORP of 12.6 from a part time player is a very good thing.
  21. I think Krynzel will be great as the Bears new quarterback...
  22. And by what measure is Ginter's defense terrible? Ginter isn't great but he is no where near terrible.
  23. I'm still sort of miffed that Yost held out two of his best offensive players in Branyan and Overbay during one of Hendrickson's starts. Way to build the confidence of a young pitcher by gving him as close to worst offense as you can muster.
  24. I have no problem with JDLR pitching if his arm is healthy enough. My problem is with the idea that we are going to make prospects prove they are ready except when we don't..
  25. Obviously Yost looked for away to get Krynzel's glove back out there.
