  1. You can't win a division with 3 rookies in the rotation. They need that veteran presence who has pitched in big games and that is Suppan. I feel he will regain the command he had earlier in the year and late last year at some point yet. I would have no qualms with moving Vargas to the bullpen since he can't get out of the 5th inning anyways. Going into this year I would have been happy to compete for the wildcard. The great start the team had kind of changed that plan for this year. However, I do think this team is still a year or two away from being a complete juggernaut and dominated the NL for a few years!
  2. Who are they kidding? A-Ram is the biggest showoff in the game today! Not to mention they have a punk Lee at first base who still needs to serve a 5-game suspension for clocking Young in the face. Typical north-siders though.
  3. Because Yost thinks its funny to play mediocre lineups at the end of the week. There record on Sundays is probably horrible. I went to a game on a Sunday and this was the lineup he had: Hart Counsell Braun Hall Mench Miller Graffinino Weeks Gallardo Tell me how you win with a lineup that doesn't include Fielder, Jenkins, Hardy, and Estrada all in the same day. But this is typical Yost. It is good to rest a guy here and there but not four of your starters in the same day!
  4. If these guys are as good as they say they are, bring them up now! We don't have much of a cushion in the division anymore and cannot afford to not be putting our best team on the field night in and night out. Bringing Parra and Balfour up in place of Spurling and Shouse would make this team better!
  5. Its not just one outing. You can't put him into a close game. The guy lets too many runners on base. If you can't trust to pitch him in a close game why keep him? A bloop hit would at least give a chance for Hall or someone else to make a spectacular play. What does a walk do besides give them a free run!
  6. My question is this: Would you trust him to pitch in a one-run game? If the answer is no and I am sure it is for all Brewer fans then it is time to replace him. We do need another lefty one way or another. Whether it is a trade or Parra or Thatcher it needs to happen.
  7. He walked in a run on 4 pitches! When pitching with the bases loaded in a tie game walking a hitter is the one thing you cannot do! Throw a strike to give yourself a chance to get out of the inning. I would've rather seen him give up a hit at least he would be giving himself a chance!
  8. Huge week now that we lost to Youman yesterday. They guy couldn't even win at Triple A and we score 2 runs off him in 6 innings. Now we have to face Gorzellany and Snell the next two days. The Cubs on the other hand miss both of those guys this weekend meaning they will probably sweep both series. We will probably need to win out this week just to hold a 5 1/2 game lead at the break. Anything less than that will give the Chubs too much confidence. I think they will choke in 2nd half like they always do though. They are good from 1-4 in their lineup, but from 5-8 reminds me of the mediocre Brewer lineups a few years ago. Other than Zambrano their starting pitching is not good. Marquis will have his normal 2nd half meltdown. So hopefully we will increase the lead to 10 games by mid-August, but winning all games before the break would be a good start for our 2nd half.
  9. He has had some decent outings. But watching him give up the walkoff homer to Morneau after the furious comeback. Then being in attendance to see him walk in the go ahead run to the Royals was the straw that broke the camels back on this guy. I have completely soured on him. Playoff caliber teams cannot have this many mediocre pitchers on their roster and we have two in Shouse and Spurling. I will give Shouse the benefit of the doubt though since he is a lefty and is effective as a situational lefty.
  10. Offense - B (Too many off days yet against poor pitching - Marquis on Sunday, Youman yesterday) Defense - B (Way too many errors yesterday boys) Starting Pitching - B (Would be an "A" if Gallardo replaces Bush or Vargas or if Bush becomes more consistent staying away from big inning. Bullpen - B- (Get rid of Spurling, limit Shouse to 1 hitter, Turnbow and CoCo get rid of struggles, and need to add another lefty) Management - B+ (Melvin does a great job with the roster. Yost needs to better manage pitchers though. Villanueva should not pitch in a 11-4 game ever!) Overall - B+ (Need to distance themselves more from the chubs! They are way to talented to let them challenge!)
  11. How long do we Brewer fans need to suffer through watching this guy pitch? We got rid of Capellan and now Spurling must be next. With all the productive guys pitching relief in Triple-A, why are we not summoning one of them and sending Spurling down. Ideally I would like to see Parra called up to add another lefty in the bullpen. We don't have room for Parra in the rotation for a long time anyway so why not move him to our bullpen?
