  1. Definitely Buyers! We won't catch the Chubs, but even with the Cards out ahead I have to think that the WC will become the Brewers to lose. The Cards have last place talent even with Pujols so now without him and the injuries piling up eventually this will catch up with them. Who else stands in the Brewers way really? Having said that I move Hall, Bush, and Gwynn for a quality SP.

  4. How were Ausmus and Cooper ejected and not Berkman? I know watching the game you don't hear what was actually said, but Berkman was throwing a bigger tantrum that my 5-year old son which really shows up the umpire. The play he was arguing wasn't even close. I guess when you hit .380 with 20 homers you get special treatment.
  5. Weaver has had a couple good outings recently in "AAA". I would bring him up and send Bush back down.
  6. I would like to predict that the Cubs are gonna be 10 games under .500 this month but unfortunately I don't think that is gonna happen. The Astros maybe, but the Cubs seem to have some form of luck on their side again this year.
  7. I am not sure why everyone is so high on Dillon? He is the 25th player on the roster and if you ask me TGJ should be on the roster instead of Dillon. I can't remember the last time the guy got a hit.
  8. 3 @ Colorado? As optimistic as I would like to be we always get crushed in Colorado for some reason.
  9. The Cubs are the luckiest team on this planet! What are the percentages of winning a game when down 8-0 in the 6th? I would guess less that 0.5% but yet they still find a way to do it. I think they trailed late in every game to the Dodgers this week as well yet came back and won them all. I would hope the law of averages would catch up to them at some point but I am not sure if we will be that lucky. We may need to concentrate on getting the WC.
  10. That was correct Corey blasted one out to Center in the 9th. It was definitely a waste of a great pitching performance by Yo who was making his 2nd career start that day and treated with the "B" lineup.
  11. Prince will walk more because a pitcher would rather face Corey Hart than Prince Fielder. A pitcher is not gonna walk Braun to get to Fielder though. Having said that, Braun could learn to draw more walks, but remember he is still a very young player and that will come with time.
  12. Yeah it was an extra inning game. I believe they lost it when they put Spurling into the game. Unfortunately for me I live in GB so Sunday games are normally the only ones I go to.
  13. Ok, that is just stupid!
  14. He won't draw walks much because Prince is behind him in the lineup. A pitcher would rather give up a solo homer to Braun than a two-run homer to Prince. The reason why guys like Pujols and Bonds are able to draw walks is because they didn't have very good players after them in the lineup that put fear in a pitcher.
  15. I went to a game last June against KC and Yost put out a similar lineup. After dominating KC for the first two games of the series they went out with a "B" lineup on Sunday and lost the game. You just can't do that! One or two resting I can understand, but not 4!
  16. I agree that 15-11 seems realistic. However, to have any sort of a shot this year I think the team needs to go 18-8.
  17. Who was the last player to get a hit off Sheets in that game though? Berkman drew a walk on 11 pitches, it is not like he hit the ball hard somewhere or anything like that.
  18. Braun is a Great player! How many players in the history of baseball have hit as many homeruns to start his career as Braun has in the last year. He has played exactly one year of baseball right now and has hit 48 home runs in that time and knocked in a ton of runs. Other than Pujols in the last decade, who else has accomplished what Braun has in his first season?
  19. You gotta leave Sheets in the game. Is bringing in Torres to get one more out really all that much better of an option than leaving the ace in to do it. Yost said it was strictly because of pitch count, which he had thrown 122. I think he could have gotten one more out and I am sure he has thrown more pitches than that in a game before. Why not let him finish the game? We are gonna have a hard enough time trying to resign this guy, let's not piss him off in the process! As for the fans getting kicked out, I am sure they had more to it than that. They would have simply asked them to put the shirts inside out if that is all it was. My brother wore one of those F* em Bernie shirts to the game once and an usher just made him put the shirt inside out.
  20. I would bet Difelice would be sent down and that would be a good thing. Doesn't look like he will be that effective as how many 33-year olds making it to the majors for the first time are. I will wait too see how Tavarez pitches before making any assumptions. This is another guy who used to be very good. He also has been a SP in his career at times. Maybe he bumps Bush from the rotation?
  21. Watching Bush pitch is at times like watching a coach throw BP before the game. He has a really slow delivery and just flat out grooves way too many pitches up over the middle of the plate. Maybe they should move him to the BP pitcher if he wants to keep doing that, then at least he is giving up homers to Braun and Fielder instead of opposing players. But seriously, the Crew need to try another option at this point. 1-5 with an ERA over 7 is just not acceptable for a team that wants to compete for the playoffs. I don't care if you have to have auditions from Weaver, Zack-Jack, Difelice or even start bringing up guys from "AA" to try. Something needs to be done soon. I would rather seen CV back in the rotation that keep Bush there.
  22. I say in the first two rounds they draft any combination of 3 Closers, 2 SP, and 1 Catcher. Draft college players, not HS players as we should be in a win now mode anyhow. If we draft a bunch of college closers chances are we will have them in our bullpen next season because they are ready to step up quickly.
  23. Its too bad. I was kind of excited for once about this team when I thought maybe the Yost firing was a valid rumor.
  24. If the Brewers do not win at least 4 out of 7 on this homestand, Melvin must pull the trigger and fire Yost. I expect them to win at least 5 but will give him the benefit if they have a winning record on the homestand. Since starting 6-1, the team is 10-17. I believe in 1982 the team got off to a similar start and fired Buck Rodgers and the manager shakeup led to some excellent ball being played.
  25. I said this before and I will say it again: Johnson slid outside the box at first base. That is not hustle that is being stupid and is illegal. Even if they missed the tag he would have been out because of that. Shouldn't have happened if he wasn't being stupid.
