  2. Yeah, he's in pain after crashing into the wall. It looks like his wrist.
  3. The game's on MLBN outside of Cubs territory. That includes Milwaukee and Wisconsin. Inside Cubs territory, the game is on Comcast SportsNet Chicago.
  4. The league a team plays in is up to the league and the team's owner. Sometimes, a franchise will express a desire to move up a notch (e.g. AA to AAA) and will be accepted by the "higher" league. Major League teams have nothing to do with any of this, however, unless they happen to own the minor league team.
  5. I'm not finding the firestick super intuitive, but maybe that's just me finding typing with a remote cumbersome. There might be an app for that. Using the keyboard on a tablet or phone is much easier than typing with a remote. Even better, you can paste out of your password manager. On the other side of the coin, the remote is better than an app for things you want to do quickly, e.g. pause.
  6. Junior's older, though. The innings jump should hopefully be less of a factor than it'd be for guys who are under 26 or so.
  7. I see the six-man rotation being useful if a team is up against innings limits or if it doesn't want to drop a starter from the rotation. I don't see the Brewers facing any significant innings issues, but I see a situation where it's beneficial to give opportunities the six pitchers who are currently starting. The impact on rosters would be a reason not to do this all the time.

  9. That's good news. I wasn't willing to rely on auto-replenishment to cover an estimated $80 in tolls in Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. But generally, my usage is confined to Illinois. That's a pretty safe risk. I'd be difficult to accumulate enough tolls in a single day to run one's account down to zero. I'd have the time to do my driving, then check to see if funds were automatically added.

  11. I-PASS updated their website this weekend, and things have been a mess. Of course, this happened at exactly the same time I had planned to use the system outside of Illinois. I wanted to pad my account with extra cash and wasn't able to do so due to the site's planned downtime over the weekend. So I went without adding the funds, and as far as I can tell, all of the states I was in accepted my transponder. But I had to go to each state's website in order to make my best guess as to how much I was charged for tolls. The system is still glitchy. The website wasn't back up consistently until midday on Wednesday. I could get in late at night on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. The call center was also down until midday on Wednesday. Also, there's a huge delay for tolls to post. Illinois tolls generally post within 20 minutes. My Sunday-Monday tolls posted after about 48 hours. Out-of-state tolls generally post within 48 hours. Mine haven't posted yet. Most importantly, automatic replenishment is broken. For the time being, users should be adding funds manually. There's no word on when this will be working again. The saving grace is that manual replenishments are taking almost immediately. On the plus side, registering vehicles has become easier. All that's needed is the license plate and state. If you transfer your plate to a different vehicle, you don't have to re-register. Also, automatic extensions are temporarily being granted on violations and unpaid tolls. Initially, the deadline to pay was extended from seven to fourteen days, but I think that may have become longer with the unexpected glitches.

  13. I think "with purpose" is appropriate because he obviously had some kind of reason, albeit misguided. "Impulsive" may be the best way to describe this.
  14. Another home run for Santana. That one was crushed.
  15. Here's one view of the play.
  16. A mix of 12:10, 1:10, 3:10, 6:10, and 7:10 would work for me. 6:40 more or less fits into that.
  17. Pina starting tonight? Yeah, I'm watching this game on mute. Yeah, it looks like Brian is still drinking peña coladas. One of these days, when someone says "standard time" during daylight time, I'm going to take him literally and be an hour late.
  18. If I'm coming from any distance, I'd rather deal with the logistics of an early start rather than driving back late. But that's me. There are all kinds of different preferences, and with 81 home games, a lot of them can be accommodated.
  19. I'm OK with differing start times. It can make a difference to some fans. Though I have to say, just about every time I chose the 6:20 Monday games this year, the games ended later than 7:10 games typically do. At least we're not in a situation like Atlanta. The Braves are going with 7:30 start times next season because they figure traffic conditions will make it difficult for people to get to the park before that.
  20. Are we still talking about Villar here? Yeah, I believe so. I think that "defense" encompasses everything. That would include range, arm, and errors. That's why I get annoyed when writers and broadcasters use fielding percentage as a synonym for "defense." If you want to break it down, be specific and say "range," "arm," or "errors." If you want to evaluate the total package, one aspect can offset another.
  21. You don't have to if you don't want. He has top notch range and it's hard to argue that. Actually, I mean ignore it, disregard it, reject it, avoid it, pay no mind to it, scorn it, evade it, brush it off, and let it go. It’s that useless. And worse, it’s misleading because one might be tempted to think it has some value. It’s as bad as RBIs. No, it’s actually more useless. At least RBIs have value for the purpose of trivia questions. Range Factor can't even offer that. Do you think the UZRs of Brewers players might be negatively affected by all the shifts they employ?
  22. I think the most interesting aspect of this schedule is that all Monday and Tuesday night home games will be starting at 6:40[space][/space]PM. Other weeknight start times will remain at 7:10[space][/space]PM.
  23. Timing is everything. If there are a couple of injuries and it's not desirable to promote a prospect, I could see Brent getting a shot.
  24. I believe a team can select as many players as it wants, i.e. the rounds continue until teams stop drafting. The limitations would be practical ones. Teams aren't going to want a lot of players under Rule 5 restrictions. Plus, there wouldn't be enough talent in the pool for teams to draft a bunch of players.
