  2. Minor note for the full list of Stern's transactions, Walsh was a rule 5 pick, not a waiver claim. That raised my eyebrows too. But when I checked the mlb.com transactions pages that TooLive linked to, the Rule 5 picks were listed as waiver claims.
  3. Villar at 2B, Pérez at 3B. This is the first time Jonathan has played second as a Brewer.

  7. Since their lone World Series appearance, the Brewers have drafted in the top 3 exactly twice, and have not drafted first overall in more than 30 years. I may be wrong, but I believe the Brewers have drafted first overall once and only once.

  10. Piss is generally acceptable (note that it isn't filtered). Also note that there are ways that many words, cusses or not, can become unacceptable based on how they're used. Piss would be among them.
  11. His Range Factor is Top 3 in the NL Just say no to range factor. It's affected by too much that doesn't involve defense, such as pitchers who strike out a lot of batters vs. those who induce ground balls.
  12. Look at Matt's contract information at Cots: 14-17: $12.5M annually 18: vesting/club option 2018 option vests at $13M if… The vesting option is out, but the club option is still there: club holds $5M option for 2018 if it does not vest at $13M And if he spends a significant amount of time on the DL next year: club may exercise 2018 option at $1M if Garza spends more than 130 days on disabled list in any 183-day period from 2014 to 2017 Nothing is said about a buyout. It looks like all he is owed is $12.5 million for next year. If he's any kind of pitcher at all, his team can have him for $5 million in 2018. If he sucks next year and his team wants to take a flyer on him, it can have him for $1 million in 2018. Thanks to Mass Haas for his post in the draft forum that got me to re-read Matt's contract terms.
  13. I recall when pictures of players were frequently unavailable. One time, a member suggested that the site might be considering race in its evaluation of players (yeah, that's nice ). The response was that we didn't have a clue what a lot of them looked like until they reached the Major Leagues. Nowadays, in addition to minor leaguers, there are almost always photos of high school and college prospects available, not to mention videos on YouTube. In the process of doing our official draft pick threads, I think there's been a problem with finding a photo for about one draftee per year. And still, we've been able to track down a photo with a little added effort.
  14. I think those kind of subtleties in how a rotation is built are often over looked. Velocity a good reason why a manager might not line up his 1-2-3-4-5 pitchers in that order to start the season. Lefty-righty might be part of that decision-making process too.
  15. Thanks for posting the lineup trwi7. It's always helpful when a member posts that information before a moderator can get around to doing it.
  16. Until yesterday, I'd never been in a public restroom in this country that had a sign saying, "Please don't flush toilet paper."

  18. Because they already have a first basemen who's pretty good in several respects (certainly not all respects), it'd be premature for the Brewers to talk about a move publicly at this point.
  19. Corey Hart had played first base in the minors. It would have been his preferred position had Prince Fielder not come along.
