  1. I saw the Braun interview, and I have to give him credit for being extremely diplomatic. He chose exactly the right words. Too bad I don't remember what those right words were. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. Moved and merged.
  3. There isn't a link in this topic. Can anyone offer one? That might give us some parameters for our guesses.
  4. Sprint broke it's single day sales record on Friday. Sprint reports 'best day ever' of sales with iPhone 4S launch
  5. I'm stumped, actually. As RockCoCougars said, the "surprise" nature suggests someone outside the box. Almost all of our suggestions are "inside the box," and really wouldn't live up to the element of surprise. President Obama would certainly be a great surprise, but it'd next to impossible for the President of the United States to appear without everyone knowing about it. Using a "surprise" to memorialize Gary Vanden Berg would be in poor taste. There's also be the factor that he wouldn't have been a household name to a good chunk of the fan base,; taste aside, that would make the surprise a letdown.
  6. I like Opus too, but Bill's my favorite. Ack! Pphpit!
  7. +!@ was RR doing… Please note community language etiquette. Stuff that gets caught by the cuss filter needs to be edited. Also, acronyms, abbreviations, or creative spellings to get around the actual cuss aren't to be used. It looks like this post said "***," which is both filtered and an acronym containing a verboten cuss. Thanks!
  8. The Nats didn't want Tony, and Jerry was up for free agency. That brings down their trade values considerably. I wouldn't say that there was any fleecing involved.
  9. Even with the injury and his recent production that's been generally less than usual, I think you have to go with the large sample and continue to hit Rickie 5th. I can't see an alternative that would improve the top 5 spots in the order. It's not like we have a second Jerry Hairston waiting around.
  10. 6 IP, 0 ER http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif There were three unearned runs, though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I guess you'd have to look back at the game log to decide how much "blame" should be assigned to Greinke.
  11. As an aside, blue isn't "very obvious" to everybody. We have a colorblind member who can't see it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. Putting Kotsay in CF is the only postseason decision that has really freaked me out. Batting Kotsay 2nd isn't good, but when you think about it, once Mark's in the lineup, there's no good place to put him.
  13. Now that it's available, I've moved this discussion over to the in-game thread for Game 4.
  14. Anyone could have made Kotsay's baserunning mistake. Most of the time, nobody makes it. However, the ball that Mark failed to catch in the first inning would have been caught by either either Morgan or Gomez. It wasn't Kotsay's fault; he's just not a good center fielder, and he has no business playing there unless both Morgan and Gomez become unavailable.
  15. Yeah, ttsather, games will be finished. If necessary, postseason games will be suspended.
  16. Well, in defense of freaking out, Yo didn't look good in the first despite the fact that he had absolutely no help at all. Still, 4-run leads aren't very big, and both these teams can erase them pretty easily.
  17. We could tell from his expression that Braun wasn't hit intentionally.
  18. We only have two guys who have any business playing CF, and I think we all know who they are.
  19. another former (albeit briefly) brewer...Jim Edmonds.Yup, it's Diego. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. Here's more information from Tom Haudricourt: Brewers to honor Vanden Berg The spelling discrepancies between the Walker and Haudricourt blog entries led me to do some double-checking. The Brewers front office page, his son's Brewerfan page, and his son's Baseball-Reference.com page each say "Vanden Berg."
  21. According to what I heard on WTMJ earlier, the Brewers will be wearing patches on their uniforms, and there's going to be a moment of silence before tomorrow night's game in St. Louis. Along with that. Tony LaRussa interrupted a press conference to acknowledge Gary's passing.
