  1. You have a converted profile, which makes a difference. Your image is 100px by 100px. Converted profiles display avatars at 170px by 170px, so in the process of trying to blow up the image, sharpness is lost. Do you also notice this loss of sharpness on the board? If you have a converted profile, it's better to use an avatar that's 170 by 170. Yuku will reduce it to 100 x 100 for the board. It's better to let the system reduce an image than trying to enlarge it. I've found a larger ball and glove image that I can reduce to 170 by 170. I'll post it in a bit. Let's see how that works.
  2. You're welcome. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif My Photoshop skills are very limited, but this was pretty easy. In this case, I got rid of the white by selecting it with the Magic Wand tool and deleting it. What was left was transparent. Additionally, I removed a few super-light yellow pixels at the top that looked out of place with the white removed.
  3. Give this a look. http://images.yuku.com.s3.amazonaws.com/image/png/4fc35062577d4b015d3e490a0dcf63521148936.png If you see an area for improvement, holler. If you like it, download it by right-clicking on the image, choosing Save Image As (or your browser's equivalent), and uploading it to your Yuku avatar folder. Don't delete your old avatar, though. It'll mean that avatars on your older messages will disappear.
  4. Hitting enter works sometimes, and other times it doesn't. If there's a trick for controlling it, I haven't found it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  5. I read somewhere that a player's speed peaks at age 23, meaning that I wouldn't be surprised to see some decline in that area at this point.
  6. Nijer wasn't out of line, but if fans thought he delivered the finger, he's going to have to be more careful. It kind of surprised me when a reporter asked Roenicke if he thought a fine was in order. It's hard to hear the questions in the post-game press conferences, but she must have thought he gave the finger, too.
  7. hawing, I'm with whizkid. I'd stick to what you know about this employee based on your contact with him on the job. If he was cool around you, it doesn't reflect poorly on you to report that even if he was the biggest turd in the world elsewhere.
  8. I want the Internet connection that was in use when this screen capture was taken: http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a244/casey1992/boardpics/bfnet/35db6023.png 657MB and about a minute to go.
  9. Assuming you have Windows, this might work: BitMeter2 BitMeter Review
  10. You may want to set Flash so sites can't store anything on your computer at all. I think you do that by hitting the second icon (Global Storage Settings) and moving the slider to none. You can probably also move the slider to none in the Website Storage Settings (the sixth icon, which is the one where you clear your storage). If things work right, sites will still be listed, but they won't store anything. If you have a Mac and your Flash is up to date, you'll have a Flash System Preference pane. Go to System Preferences (via the Apple Menu), and choose Flash Player (in the "Other" category). Under the Storage tab, choose "Block all sites from storing information on this computer." I've been blocking all Flash storage for quite a while, and nothing that I know of has broken because of it.
  11. For those of you who use the subscription feature… Checking to make sure your registered e-mail address is up to date is always a good idea. There are times when it matters, such as retrieving lost passwords. To check (or change) your e-mail in an unconverted profile: Hit the Account link on pages with the traditional navigation bar or the wrench icon on pages with the new bar.Hit the "Email" link in the Settings box and follow the directions. To check (or change) your e-mail in a converted profile: Hit the Account link on pages with the traditional navigation bar or the wrench icon on pages with the new bar.Hit the Edit link to the right of where your e-mail address is displayed.
  12. 19 times right; 8 times wrong, not including the post above which intentionally contains both spellings. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. Is there a fenced in dog park around? Because of the distraction of other people and dogs, it probably wouldn't be a great place for training. But you'd be covering the exercise issue.
  14. Microsoft unveils location of 75 new retail stores on a map Check out the bottom map, particularly the location of the Lone Tree, Colorado, store. http://images.yuku.com.s3.amazonaws.com/image/jpeg/80c150514a5d4008084d676713cf2433b557d50.jpg
  15. tomwopat, try going to this Adobe page: http://www.macromedia.com.../settings_manager07.html While there, hit the "Delete all sites" button in the control panel at the top. That would dump any Flash information that might be stored on your computer. Clearing that has been known to help some people with access issues.
  16. "Grie[/i]nke has been used 472 times. It's been spelled correctly 1,000 times. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. People probably think if the Niger River or the Republic of Niger, then notice the "y" in Nyjer, but not the "j." I believe that "Greinke" is far and away the most misspelled name on this board.
  18. the package came with two e-cigarettes, but one quickly broke If it broke almost immediately, wouldn't it be covered by a replacement warranty?
  19. "Mr. Internet guy" is insulting to the people who've posted thoughtfully in this topic. Please refrain from such attacks in the future. I'm sure Roenicke has an idea who's going to pitch. However, people question those ideas and wonder if he understands the strengths and weaknesses of his players.
  20. The reason for arbitration is to prevent holdouts. If it goes away, it would have to be replaced with something else, possibly earlier free agency.
  21. …it really bothers me when I'm walking and someone steps out from a building, alleyway, or enters the path I'm walking on without ever looking to see if there is someone else coming. Miller Park is one of the worst places for that. The delays occur when people can't play nice and take turns. People are great about playing nice and taking turns in Miller Park's parking lot (unless there's a disproportionate number if Illinois drivers). It's too bad that can't happen on the highway.
  22. As I said earlier, no option means no buyout. It's now a mutual option, meaning that both sides have to agree to extend the contract. Sources, including Rosiak and Rosenthal, are reporting that the buyout is now $4 million. K-Rod deal makes sense on both sides
  23. I'd have to review every other team to see which ones might have been able to work a similar deal (read: have a good closer already but still need bullpen help), but I guess there weren't many other options for the Mets and those options for some reason wanted more cash. Somewhere in the main K-Rod topic, it's mentioned that the Mets explored deals with other teams, but the Brewers won out because they required the least amount of cash back.
