  1. There's a pretty large contingent around here who'd like to see Counsell get more time at shortstop.
  2. Grants, donations, lots of revenue from Google in exchange for Google being the default search engine, and volunteer help. danzig6767, is Firefox still acting up for you?
  3. I can safely say that my hair is rainwater soft.
  4. I'll agree that because the rule covers situations outside actual bereavement, it could be given a more appropriate name. I don't think that it'd be practical for the anticipated use of the player (e.g. starting pitcher vs. another position) to have anything to do with how the rule is applied, though.
  5. If Brewcrew79 decides that he can offer these shirts via mail, at that point, a companion thread should be started in the Trading Post. It can certainly be linked to from this topic. The Trading Post is safer for posting ordering information, e-mail addresses, etc. Because it's a private forum, it's hidden from search engines. As things stand, this thread is cool in Off Topic because it's intended to provide some news rather than to sell shirts online. EDIT: Certainly feel free to use this topic to continue to express interest; just don't add your personal contact information. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. We have a separate topic now for the McClendon-Marcum transaction: McClendon recalled; Marcum to bereavement list I've move a couple of posts from this thread to that one.
  7. The news of Tony's injury made it to Brewerfan pretty quickly: Reply #10 of Sunday's Game 1 In-game thread Reply #33 of the Doubleheader thread Reply #59 of the Injury News thread (the best spot for updates) All of these messages were posted well before game time.
  8. Firefox is modeling its delivery system to be like that of Google Chrome. One of its Product Priorities for 2011 is: The goal is to get technology to users more quickly by releasing a new version every two months. If a feature isn't ready for an upcoming version, it'll be delayed to the next rather than holding back the upcoming release. Firefox 5 is supposed to introduce a silent update system much like Chrome's. Provided that the update feature is completed in time for Firefox 5, Firefox 5 users will be automatically updated to Firefox 6 when it's released in August.
  9. I don't know what might be causing this. Replacing your profile might be necessary. Do you have anything that's part of your Firefox installation that you might be particularly attached to, e.g. passwords, cookies, bookmarks, extensions, etc.?
  10. Late or not, why aren't they inviting you rather than asking if they can come over? Isn't that how things are usually done?
  11. This seems to be the appropriate spot to continue the Morgan injury discussion: http://brewersfandemonium...e-reply-59-#reply-701535
  12. Hey nerds… Nitpickers and crybabies in a 162 game season crack me up. The name-calling is unnecessary and uncalled for, especially the use of "crybabies" and directly referring to members as "nerds."
  13. They're not sandwiches, but Lambert's is the home of "throwed rolls." "Throwed" refers to how their rolls are served.
  14. If the Brewers logo is included, you start to risk copyright violation and cease and desist orders.
  15. A doubleheader this weekend in Washington would be the first choice. If a doubleheader can't happen or if two games are rained out, attempting to find a mutually acceptable date to play in Washington would be the second choice. Making up games in Milwaukee would be the third choice. Not making up games at all (or making them up at the end of the season only if necessary) would be the fourth choice.
  16. If it isn't practical to work out a date to make up a rained out game in Washington, it would likely be made up when the Nats come to Milwaukee.
  17. We parked really easily within a block or so of the ballpark. I believe we paid $20 plus a $5 tip.
  18. I may have to move on from my archaic 8 year old TV technology... I'd submit that it's 20-year-old technology on an 8-year-old set. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I see some likes on Sessile Fielder's Facebook page. That's a good start.
  19. It's kind of surprising how calls are routed. I remember a day about four years ago when a fiber optic line went out. It took out all landline long distance and all Alltel (now Verizon) cellular calls in our area for the better part of the day. Cellular One (now AT&T) and local landline calls were fine.
  20. Per the Major League Forum FAQ, please keep posts containing full lineups in the current designated lineup thread. Thanks! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. Maybe a WMLW HD Facebook page would put on the pressure. It's worked for other stuff. Interestingly, if you do a Google search for WMLW HD, this topic comes up second.
  22. Via an edit above, the poster has clarified that he intended sarcasm.
  23. The Brewers had to know that Saito was going to make a DL stint or two this year.… Saito's just a really nice piece to have when he's healthy. That makes Saito look like the bullpen version of Russell Branyan. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  24. Yeah, Paul, that's Provel. When I went to St. Louis a couple years ago, the first thing I was taught was to say was "no Provel" when I ordered something that used cheese. However, communicating that isn't always that easy. "Provel" and "cheese" can apparently be used synonymously. One time, when we said "No Provel," a server asked, "Do you mean, 'no cheese'"? We had to clarify by saying "No Provel" again, with more emphasis on "Provel." Apparently, Pi Pizzeria is so anti-Provel that its employees wear t-shirts saying so. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
