  2. Base hits may have moved up or scored a runner, so it's not an even trade.
  3. We have some great names in the system right now: Oluwademilade Oluwadamilola Orimoloye Bubba Derby Damien Magnifico
  4. For what it's worth, scoring in every inning is rarer than a perfect game.

  6. 8th time since 1940 that a team has scored in every frame. Also, every starting position player had at least one hit. Piña was 2 for 3 with a walk and his first three MLB RBIs. Arcia got his first triple. Pérez was 3 for 4, including a homer. And Scooter hit his tenth home run.
  7. Braves broadcaster said "days are shorter up here." Actually, during the summer, they're longer.
  8. Haven looks like a clone of his dad. Jadyn might be a speed and defense guy.
  9. I don't particularly care right now, but the Giants and A's would be blacked out. Kind of cool that Broxton stole home while Piña was caught between first and second. The Braves probably could have prevented the run by conceding the stolen base at second.
  10. I'm getting the game on my Mac today because Time Warner has MLB thinking I'm in Fremont, CA. My Apple TV and iPad determine my location accurately, though.
  11. The Brewers signed Seitzer as a free agent just prior to the 1992 season after he was released by the Royals in spring training. He signed with Oakland for the 1993 season and was released in July. The Brewers signed him three days later. After the 1993, 1994, and 1995 seasons, he was granted free agency but re-signed with Milwaukee. On August 31, 1996, he was dealt to the Indians for Jeromy Burnitz.
  12. djoctagone is correct, of course. In the technical sense, Fielder isn't retiring. But in layman's terms, it's a retirement, and I'm not overly bugged by the use of the word. My guess is that few players go onto the "voluntary retirement" list anymore. Most likely end up with free agent status one way or another.

  14. Arcia made a phenomenal throw to first tonight. It didn't result in an out, but it was still pretty to watch.
  15. It was way cool when Jeff joined us for a thread back in 2009 after an interview by splitter. He had a cool avatar too.
  16. New Lucy was unveiled on Saturday. Scary Lucy was moved but still exists. Because of the uproar, people still want to see it.

  18. It seems that in recent years, Prince and Cecil have kissed and made up to a degree.
  19. Right, another guy who never played for the Brewers. The Brewers have been around for nearly 50 years and not even half of the guys inducted into the Walk of Fame even played for the Brewers (9/19). Thankfully Fielder will be added to the list. I can't think of any Brewers who are an obvious omission (Prince isn't an omission yet). But I can think of one Brave (Del Crandall).
  20. Doubt Fielder gets his number retired but should be voted into the Walk of Fame rather easily even though they never seem to vote anyone in. Joe Adcock was added this year.
  21. The Hall has made exceptions for players who've had their careers cut short. The most notable examples are probably Sandy Koufax and Kirby Puckett. Still, I think that Prince's career rate stats fall a little short. And his peak was also likely a little short.
  22. I think Prince would need to be a Hall of Famer to have his number retired. At that point, his Brewer qualifications would exceed those of Rollie Fingers. I think he deserves consideration for the Miller Park Walk of Fame, though.
