  1. Thanks, logan3825. You went back a long way... all the way back to October 26th. I checked the Off Topic cablesatellite tag. The longest thread in there is 41 posts, so the big thread is still out there if we need it. Here's a thread I stashed in Issues last year so it wouldn't get pruned by ezBoard: Directv Screwed me (General Blackout Issues). It has this cool home territory map. I added your threads to the cablesatellite tag, and I've added this thread and the current Brewers home games in HD, Fox Games to this forum's radiotv tag. The Screwed Me thread is tagged in Issues, too. It'd be nice to do something to make it easier for members to get this information and have it easy to find. The reason I'm not automatically slapping a designated thread label on this is that a megathread with "all things tv" might be too cumbersome. I think in the short term, mods should probably just watch how things transpire, attempt to lock or merge accordingly, and try to organize things as we muddle along.
  2. And Brewerfan notes this: To each his own, I guess. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. Both Tuesdays and I fixed it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif At any rate, it works.
  4. Attempting to itemize the terms used in the message convolutes the fact that the issue is the post itself and the totality of the terms that were used. As a matter of fact, by themselves, LOL and Yo are very friendly more often than not. However, LOL preceding a counter-argument is condescending. helloooooo (?) is condescending almost every time it's used. Neither of them alone would have warranted a strike, though. The fact that LOL - YO - helloooooo... were placed together and that you opened your second point with I hate to break it to you was the reason for the strike. Heck, I didn't even point out the use of How hard is that to understand that it has to be repeated?. Here's the part of the post in question: Here's how it could have been written: More often that not, determining where a comment fits on the condescension spectrum is difficult. Mods have to choose between: not saying anything at all saying something but not issuing a warning saying something and issuing a non-strike warning issuing a strike This case was about as clear as it gets. Had we been talking about another example, it might have been worthy of discussion.
  5. In the short term, mods should be probably be on the lookout for duplicates and maybe consider some locks or mergers. Ultimately, a designated thread is probably a good idea. We can watch the direction this thread takes. Even better would be to have an unlocked FAQ that's open for questions and discussion, then possibly superseded by a better FAQ. It should probably cover DirecTV, DISH, cable companies, Extra Innings, sports packages, and mlb.tv. The tough thing is striking a balance between the megathread and specific threads. EDIT: I've changed the thread title to broaden its scope.
  6. For reference, here's last week's locked thread: Archive Talkin' Brewers with Jim Powell - 2/2/08 Edition
  7. Here's the new thread: 2/9 Episode (3-5:00 CT) Talkin' Brewers w/Jim Powell - Melvin, Kasper, Hall, Parra
  8. Can a mod change the title of this thread... Está completado.
  9. Toby's board: Brewerfan Political Scene! (talk politics and religion here)
  10. He's saying that Fielder hit 40HR's against right-handers, of which he did exactly. No, he isn't. He's saying that Prince hit a total of 40 homers and that most of them were against righties. This indicates that he looked at the Prince's splits, but didn't cross-check his verbiage for accuracy.
  11. Methinks b19 is suggesting that you become a medical testing subject.
  12. This bug has been documented but hasn't yet been fixed.
  13. I found this pretty important tidbit from a Yuku staff member: Payment should show up in your controls immediately; the link that says Yuku Supporter - Buy Now! should change to say Yuku Supporter until mm/dd/yy. If it doesn't, I'd suggest waiting a few hours before panicking. If there are issues after that time, you can file Yuku Help ticket. Also, don't hesitate to post questions to this thread.

  16. Expect: Sheets, Yo, and Soup. I'm fine with that. Want: Villanueva in the rotation and Parra starting the year in Nashville. Expect: Between Villanueva and Parra, I think the Brewers will do what I don't want with at least one of them. Expect: Between Bush and Capuano, at least one will be in the rotation. Want: Between Bush and Capuano, I don't really care which one is chosen for the rotation. But since I want Villanueva in there, I don't want to see both of those guys as starters.
  17. After finding an answer there for TooLive, I figure that Annoyances.org is a fit for this list. I'll start reading stuff that's way off topic while looking for answers to a specific Windoze question.
  18. Glad it worked. Annoyances.org is a great site.
  19. Stab in the dark I'm on a Mac, so I can't try it. Methinks what you want is already transparent in OS X. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  20. This sounds extremely intuitive.
  21. Tell 'em VORP is a bodily function and PECOTA is a kind of cheese. I like that one, Geno. EDIT: Nice touch, slobberknocker. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. MPS, Tom Haudricourt is reporting that Gord Ash refutes Verducci's claim. Verducci's raw data on Gallardo was wrong.
  23. LOL - YO - helloooooo... I hate to break it to you, Strike-level condescension.
  24. The use of player names should be fine in Sam's example. The focus is on Brewerfan rather than the players. Also, the Brewerfan focus pretty much precludes the concept of someone else already using the idea.
  25. This thread has now replaced the old Silver Lining thread in the Designated Threads List.
