  1. Geoff was intentionally walked eight times last year. This is either the first or second time this year. I don't know if Geoff's ESPN stat page updates live or not.
  2. Dave O'Brien (O'Brian?) is too surprised by the Brewers' starting pitching. Re attendance, is the 16-17,000 Uecker's estimate? Rick S. said crowds would be in the 20s this week.
  3. A player needs to make "solid" contact or "authoritative" contact, not just contact.
  4. The game is national and FOX-WI called off their own broadcast because of it. It should be on in Milwaukee.
  5. Rick S. said on the radio that the three games with St. Louis will likely have attendance in the 20s.
  6. This wasn't apparent, at least to me, but thanks to a post by rluzinski in the major league forum, I see that minorleaguesplits.com now has stats going back to 2005.
  7. Ann Carroll ought to know that Phil Garner did not bring up Hunter Pence. Phil may have lobbied to bring him up, and he had the privilege of making the announcement, but GM Tim Purpura made the decision.
  8. As long as José doesn't further fuel the fire, I think he can be brought up anytime. The team proved its point by bypassing him last week.
  9. Besides Dave Bush, George and Barbara Bush are at the game tonight. As always, Barbara's keeping score.
  10. Ann Carroll just referred to "your" Packers. Shouldn't she be saying "our" Packers? Or is she a Vikings fan?
  11. No, no, no! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif José can be cut slack for shooting off his mouth. He can be cut slack for requesting a trade. He can even be cut slack for making things difficult by making the trade request public. And now that he's been bypassed for a recall, leaving his team can be put in the past. But no way should Yost/Melvin admit they were wrong.
  12. The display surrounding Capellan's demotion could've been overlooked, but leaving the Sounds couldn't have been. I believe the team has now made its point with José.
  13. Besides BF.net's two female moderators (Nicole the Baker is the other), there are several women who have posted to varying degrees: brewerjamie15's wife (brewermary15?), pitchleague's wife (forgot her username), Principessa21, Barbs4339, cottonheadlover, and BillScottCanRake's wife (forgot her username). I believe Mrs. colbyjack has posted, too.
  14. Katie's at 25% now. By the way, my vote wasn't accepted earlier because I wasn't accepting the site's cookie or letting it run javascript. She has my vote(s) now.
  15. Shouse is very good vs. lefties and not too good vs. righties, so yes, he should generally function as a LOOGY. This is not the type of game where you ask him to pitch a full inning.
  16. It's fun watching Carlos Lee play LF now that he's an Astro.
  17. I never minded the train until I saw Bob Brainerd in it. Did anyone notice that Brian Anderson got 'taller' tonight?
  18. I was listening to the Yankees-Jays game in the car last night. Yankee broadcaster Suzyn Waldman said to partner John Sterling, "John, look at where Aaron Hill is." As Sterling started to speak, the batter put the ball in play. I never did find out where Hill was.
  19. I didn't see any feedback from the site, but I think I voted for her. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  20. To get to the spot where you type in the username directly, go to My Control Center and follow the Send a Message link. There's a little more information in Principessa21's thread: Subforum question (PMs when recipient has Yuku profile)
  21. Here are some articles about the blackout issues: A black(out) eye for baseball, Jeff Passan, 2006-05-26 Left in the dark, Jeff Passan, 2006-06-19 Selig's promise, Jeff Passan, 2006-06-19 Major League Baseball Blackout Map, The Dilettante's Dilemma Blog, 2007-04-12The blackout map comes from Baseball Think Factory's Dan Werr. I don't believe he has an article currently accompanying it right now. By the way, the map shows I was incorrect when assessing Bruce Ciskie's situation. Superior is exclusive Brewer territory. Duluth is shared by the Brewers and Twins.
  22. For reference, there's more discussion in this locked thread in the Major League Forum: Brewer medallions
  23. I believe these links used to work until ezBoard was attacked two years ago. Mine takes me to ezBoard Help. At any rate, ezBoard isn't being developed anymore and is barely being maintained. Expect to continue to live with this bug. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  24. I choose to assume that Ben will be fine tomorrow.
