  1. That's the best suggestion I can think of short of replying to an existing PM from the person you want to send to. ezBoard and Yuku are two separate (but related) accounts. An ezBoard member isn't going to be able to utilize the PM link in a Yuku profile unless s/he has migrated. If you do migrate and want to be sure the Send Message link is functional for ezBoard members, do this: Go to My Control Center Click on Edit Profile Uncheck the box that says Use Yuku Profile.Doing that will ensure that ezBoard members see your ezBoard profile and Yuku members will see your Yuku profile. I've migrated two accounts. On one account, migration resulted in the Yuku profile being the default, so I changed the setting. On the other account, the ezBoard profile was the default. Go figure.
  2. It's not a dumb question and you're not the only one. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ezBoard has always been goofy about time changes. Yuku will let Brian set a 'community' time. It'll also let you set your own preferred time which will override Brian's whenever you're logged in. Here's an existing thread on the time change failure: ezBoard Time Change pool Since the topic already exists, I'll lock this one.
  3. There's an ongoing Nashville stadium thread here: Sounds New Ballpark: Latest -- 2008 Mid-Season? 2009? Feel free to post your thoughts in that thread. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. I've been on Yuku a lot and one thing that hasn't happened is accidental logouts. I get the ezBoard logouts at odd and unpredictable times, too. Sometimes I'll stay logged in for weeks, then all of a sudden, I get logged out all the time. It's something I've just decided to live with over my three and a half years on ezBoard.
  5. You got back sooner than I expected, so of course it was a nice surprise to see your post today. I hope everything's going well. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. If anyone feels like getting creative, once this site migrates to Yuku, it's pretty easy to add some customization to one's profile. For the sake of an example, I took the liberty of 'borrowing' billyhallfan's picture and sticking it in a 'dummy' profile. http://yuku-doodle-doodler.u.yuku.com/
  7. I think you hit the operative word when you said "sometimes". http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Brian can answer this better, but I think the reason is a combination of page loading time, the distraction factor, and seeing the same stuff over and over again. Also, in many cases, when this site did allow graphics, signatures were often larger than the posts themselves.
  8. The projections work with previous numbers and account for league difficulty. The problem is that plate appearances can't really be adjusted. If a guy was a full-timer in the minors, he's going to be projected as a full-timer in the majors. My guess is that if the system tried to adjust so plate appearances would be more accurate, something more important would 'break'.
  9. Best wishes to you Geno. A lot of people asked about you during your last prolonged absence.
  10. The team can decline Geoff's option, allowing him to declare free agency. If Geoff declares, which he certainly would, the team can then offer arby and become eligible for picks. Of course, Jenkins could also accept arby and the Brewers would have him for another year. With any kind of decent 2007 season at all, it's conceivable that his arby price could exceed his option price. There are some big flaws in trading Counsell. First, a trade before June 15th requires his approval. Second, any trade makes the option year in his contract automatically become guaranteed.
  11. I didn't remember that the 31 hits set the American League record.
  12. I think that as a general rule, we really, really, really, really don't want to delete posts. (Deleting duplicates, posts where users have changed their mind and cleared out the contents, etc. would be easy exceptions. Those deletions are more of a 'service' to members. Yuku will give Brian the option to allow users to delete their own posts. I believe he plans to make that available.)
  13. I think we're getting Jays' announcers on this broadcast. EDIT: These are definitely Jays announcers. Quoth one of them: "I was looking through the Brewers' roster."

  15. There was a separate Off Topic (Politics) forum that lasted a week or two. I would assume that the only purpose it served was to concentrate the incendiary stuff in one place.
  16. I just thought I'd add that even the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel lacks a forum discussing politics. I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the '04 campaign talk, but I can imagine the headache for the moderators.
  17. They're really two different stats with the same name. If you're a scout type looking for power, use the BP method. If you don't care why extra base hits happen, use the standard method. I see value in each method. But I do wish BP would have come up with a new name for its stat.
  18. It should be noted that if you look at Baseball Prospectus, they use a slightly different version of the Isolated Power stat. It operates on the assumption that speed, rather than power, is the cause of most triples. To save a trip, I'll quote the entire stat glossary entry. I don't think one method is better than the other. If you want to eliminate the speed factor, use the BP method. If you're simply looking at extra base hits, use the standard formula. Of course, if you want to calculate quickly and easily, use the standard formula. If you're into whipping up spreadsheets, what the heck, put both formulas in. The most important thing to remember is if you're looking at Baseball Prospectus' site, you're going to see a different number than you'll see elsewhere.
  19. I'll offer a comforting Yuku tidbit. Brian will be able to set a default time for these forums. Users will also be given the power to set their time zones. When a person is logged in, the user-set time zone will prevail. I see nothing about automatic handling of daylight time, though. I'll check into that.
  20. It's bugging me that the Yoplait yogurt has brought back the commercial with the wrong words to Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini. For a while, they were using a commercial with the right words. It also bugs me to call my Internet provider and listen to recordings saying I can look for help on the Internet. That's no good when the issue is that I have no connection at all.
  21. From what I've seen over at Yuku, I'm glad Alison is handling this. She seems really on the ball.
  22. Don't renew or sign up for ezSupporter. Yuku doesn't have an equivalent at this time. Based on Brewerfan.net's renewal date, I'd guess that Yuku migration would occur in late February. If Brian submits a 'ticket' immediately, it could be sooner. On the other hand, because of the discount, a lot of sites could be migrating and it could take longer. Migrations are automatic for members unless they choose to migrate their profiles on their own. However, they're done manually for administrators. They occur at a rate of about three boards per day. As of a couple days ago, there were about 40 boards in line for migration.
  23. I used my checking account via Paypal. As I said, that was immediate. I believe e-checks take longer. I've never done that. I'd give it a day and then suggest that Brian check into it on the ezBoard end, since, according to pogokat's records, Paypal has done its thing.
  24. There's a Store link in the upper right part of the right-hand column on the main page. For me, that graphic is one of the last to load, so give it a chance to pop up.
  25. Pogo, I believe mine showed up immediately. How did paypal show up for anyone else?
